Get it from Mozilla’s official download page for a direct installer, or install it through the Microsoft Store. Mozilla says Firefox Release will continue supporting Windows 10 for the foreseeable future, even though Microsoft ended Windows 10 support on October 14, 2025.
Download Firefox from Mozilla
The direct installer is the usual option: download it from Mozilla, then run it in Windows. Mozilla says the installer automatically offers the best available version for your computer. You can use a browser already installed on the PC, such as Microsoft Edge.

- Open Mozilla’s Windows installation guide and follow its link to the Firefox download page.
- Select Get Firefox or Download Firefox.
- Open the downloaded installer and follow the installation prompts.
Windows may warn that the installer is an app that is not from the Microsoft Store. This warning can appear with Mozilla’s direct-download route; it does not mean Firefox is paid software.
Install Firefox through the Microsoft Store
Mozilla also documents installing Firefox from the Microsoft Store on Windows 10 and Windows 11. Choose this route if you prefer Store-managed installation; updates for the Store installation are delivered through the Store. Availability and Store details can vary by region and account context.

Choose a language or a specific build
If you need a particular language or operating-system build rather than the installer’s automatic choice, use Mozilla’s alternate Firefox download page to select the Firefox version, operating system, and language.
Will Firefox keep working on Windows 10?
Yes. In its support article last updated August 30, 2026, Mozilla says Windows 10 users can remain on Firefox Release and that Firefox will support Windows 10 for the foreseeable future. Mozilla has not announced an end date, and Windows 10 users do not need to switch to Firefox ESR. Version references such as ESR 140 and ESR 153 in that article are time-sensitive; check Mozilla’s live download page for current choices.

Mozilla Firefox Blog author David Rubino stated on October 16, 2025: “While this marks the end of support from Microsoft, Firefox will continue to support Windows 10 for the foreseeable future.” That describes Mozilla’s position, not a promise of support through a specific date.

What Windows 10’s end of support means
Microsoft ended Windows 10 support on October 14, 2025. Firefox continuing to receive updates does not provide security fixes for Windows itself. Mozilla recommends moving to Windows 11 if the computer supports it, or considering Microsoft’s Extended Security Updates if you plan to stay on Windows 10. For Mozilla’s current guidance, see What Windows 10 end of support means for Firefox users and its October 2025 Firefox Blog post.
