Check your device before downloading
It is worth checking compatibility before you start an installation. The operating system version, available RAM, and the result shown by the app store on your particular device all matter. Activision Support’s FAQ, dated February 25, 2026, lists these minimum specifications:

These are minimums, not a promise that every device meeting them will be able to install or run the game. Activision’s support FAQ gives a useful baseline, but the app-store listing on your own device is the device-specific check. A phone may meet the stated operating-system and RAM requirements and still have a listing that marks the game unavailable or incompatible. If that happens, treat the local listing as the final availability result rather than assuming the baseline guarantees support.
There is a discrepancy between Activision’s current support FAQ and its Call of Duty store page. The store page lists older minimums—Android OS 5+ and iOS 9+—along with 2 GB of RAM. Because the FAQ is dated February 25, 2026, use its newer OS requirements as your baseline, then rely on your local app-store listing for the final check. The older figures are not a reason to expect a device on those operating-system versions to be accepted today.

To check the operating-system version, use the version information already available in your device’s settings; the precise menu wording can differ between devices. Compare the version you find with the requirement for your platform. Also distinguish the two platforms: an Android device uses Google Play, while an iPhone or iPad uses Apple’s App Store. The stores are not alternate routes for the same device, and an iPhone cannot use the Google Play listing to install the iOS app.
Activision’s published minimums name RAM and operating-system versions, but they do not give a universal list of supported device models or a region-by-region availability chart. Check the listing in the store where you intend to download the game. If it is not available there, do not infer that a different platform’s store, a website download, or an emulator will solve the problem.
Install the game from the official store
Android
- Open the Google Play Store on the Android phone or tablet you want to use.
- Search for Call of Duty: Mobile.
- Open the listing and check that the publisher is Activision Publishing, Inc. This helps distinguish the official app from unrelated results.
- Tap Install and wait for the download and installation to finish.
- When the store shows that installation is complete, tap Open from the listing, or launch the game from your app screen.
Activision identifies Google Play as the free download source for Android. Start the search in the store on the device itself so you can see whether that device is eligible. If you cannot find the listing, or if the store reports incompatibility, return to the compatibility checks rather than installing a file from an unofficial site.
iPhone or iPad
- Open the Apple App Store on the iPhone or iPad where you want to play.
- Search for Call of Duty: Mobile and open the official listing.
- Tap Get. Follow any on-screen confirmation required by your device.
- Wait for installation to finish, then tap Open or launch the game from your Home Screen.
Activision identifies Apple’s App Store as the free download source for iPhone and iPad. As on Android, the listing you see on the device is the place to check whether that particular device can get the app. A result for an Android device does not establish availability on an iPhone, or the other way around.
Activision identifies Google Play and Apple’s App Store as the official free download sources. Use the listing whose platform matches your device, and verify the publisher on Android before installing. Do not substitute an unofficial app package if the listing is missing or says your device is incompatible; the official listing is the appropriate place to check availability and compatibility.
Finish setup and download game resources
Installing the app and downloading additional game resources are not necessarily the same step. The Google Play listing says players can select additional resources for download, including HD resources, maps, weapons, and operators. If the game opens and then asks for additional downloads, follow its in-game instructions and let those downloads finish before expecting all of the selected content to be available.

The listing does not establish one permanent download size for every installation, and its resource options can change. The Google Play listing showed an update date of June 23, 2026, and described selectable additional resources; both the date and the options are listing-specific details that may change. Check the current listing and the game’s own prompts rather than relying on an old figure for how much space or data a particular setup will need.
The game requires an internet connection to play. Activision recommends a strong Wi-Fi connection for downloads and connectivity, so use reliable Wi-Fi for the initial install and for any additional resources the game requests. A completed app-store installation does not remove the game’s need for a connection when you play. If the app opens but cannot connect, first check that the device is online and then retry on a strong Wi-Fi connection.
If you have limited free space, make room before beginning rather than waiting for an installation or resource download to stop. Activision does not publish a single storage figure in the cited guidance, so avoid assuming that a particular amount of free space is always sufficient. The device’s own storage warning and the current store or in-game prompts are more relevant to that installation.
Fix common download and installation problems
The listing will not install or says the device is incompatible

The phone reports that there is not enough storage
A storage warning can appear even when the device seems to have some free space. Activision’s suggested ways to make room are to clear cache from other apps, remove apps you no longer use, or delete large files. After freeing space, retry the installation or resource download.
These are practical ways to make space without guessing at a universal required size. Start with material you can identify and safely remove, such as unused apps or large files you no longer need. Clearing another app’s cache can also free space. The warning may relate to the available space needed for the installation process, even if the storage screen appears to show some free capacity, so do not treat any visible free space as proof that the download must proceed.
The installed game cannot connect
Call of Duty: Mobile requires an internet connection to play. Check that the device is online, then try a strong Wi-Fi connection. If the connection is weak or interrupted, restore a stable connection before retrying in the game. The Google Play listing also notes the internet requirement, and Activision’s troubleshooting guidance recommends checking the connection and using strong Wi-Fi.
