Download 9 Kings on Windows
- Install or open Steam. Use the current desktop Steam client for Windows and sign in to the account that will own or play the game.
- Find the official listing. Search the Steam Store for 9 Kings and open the page that identifies the game by Sad Socket.
- Choose how you want to try it. Select Download PC Demo for the free trial, or use the purchase control for the paid Early Access version. The wording and availability of these controls can change by country.

Check your Windows PC before installing
Confirm the Windows edition
Open Settings → System → About. Under Windows specifications, verify that you are running Windows 10 or a later supported release. In System type, look for a 64-bit operating system. A 32-bit installation does not meet the listed Windows requirement.
Check memory, processor, and graphics
Press Ctrl+Shift+Esc to open Task Manager, then select the Performance tab. Memory shows installed RAM, CPU shows the processor model, and GPU shows the graphics adapter. Compare those names with Steam’s minimum and recommended rows rather than relying only on a laptop’s marketing name.
Check available storage
Open File Explorer → This PC and inspect the free space on the drive selected in Steam. The listing calls for 500 MB, but keeping more than that available avoids an update failing immediately after installation.
Check your Mac before installing
Verify macOS and the Mac model
Choose Apple menu → About This Mac. The window shows the macOS version, chip or processor, memory, and model year. The operating system must be macOS 12 Monterey or later according to the Steam listing.

Verify free space
Open Apple menu → System Settings → General → Storage on newer macOS versions. Older releases use About This Mac → Storage. Confirm at least the listed 500 MB is free on the volume used by your Steam library, while retaining extra capacity for updates and macOS temporary files.
Check Apple silicon carefully
The listing does not say whether the game is native to Apple silicon or how it behaves through Apple’s translation technology. If your Mac has an M-series chip, read the current Steam compatibility notes and recent developer updates on the listing. Do not infer compatibility solely from the fact that macOS appears among the supported platforms.

Early Access and the planned v1.0 date
Steam lists May 23, 2025 as the Early Access release date. It currently shows November 12, 2026 as the planned date for leaving Early Access and releasing version 1.0. That is a published development schedule, not a guarantee; dates and scope can change.

The developer’s Early Access answers on Steam say: “The Early Access version is fully playable and has all the content and features described on the store page.” The page also says the full version is planned to add content shaped by community feedback, all nine kings and their decks, additional perks, and new modes. Treat those additions as plans until they appear in a released build.

The demo or purchase button is missing
Steam can show different controls by country, account, age setting, operating system, or product status. Confirm that you are viewing the official 9 Kings listing, sign in, and check the page again after restarting Steam. If the demo is not offered in your region, only the currently displayed purchase option is available to that account.

Steam says there is not enough space
Check the free space on the exact drive selected for the Steam library, not just the drive that contains Windows or macOS. Remove unnecessary files or choose another library location, then restart the installation. Keep additional free space so Steam can unpack files and apply updates.
The download is slow or stuck
Pause and resume the download from Downloads. If it remains stalled, restart Steam and check whether another game or update is using the connection. A different Steam download region may help, but change it only when the problem is clearly network-related; it does not change the game’s system requirements.
The game will not launch on Windows
Install pending Windows updates, update the graphics driver from your computer or GPU manufacturer, and close overlays or recording tools that may interfere. In Steam, open the game’s Properties → Installed Files and choose Verify integrity of game files. If the computer is below the listed operating-system, memory, or graphics baseline, a reinstall cannot make it meet that requirement.
The game will not launch on Mac
Confirm that the Mac is on macOS 12 or later and that Steam is current. Check the model and chip in About This Mac, then consult the live Steam compatibility details because the store text does not certify every Intel or Apple silicon model. If macOS displays a security prompt, use System Settings → Privacy & Security to review it, and only approve software installed from the official Steam client.
What is and is not established about other platforms
