You can’t set up HomePod itself to display iCloud Photos: HomePod is a smart speaker, not a screen. If you want to see your photos on a television, use the Photos app on Apple TV 4K to sync iCloud Photos, start an album slideshow, or set an album as the screen saver.
Can HomePod display iCloud Photos?
No photo-display setup is documented in Apple’s current HomePod setup guide or HomePod Siri guide. HomePod can handle supported voice requests and smart-home controls, but it does not show photos. To view iCloud Photos on a television, use Apple TV 4K.

Sync iCloud Photos on Apple TV 4K
- Open the Photos app on Apple TV 4K. The first time you use it, you’ll be prompted to sync all iCloud photos or only Shared Albums.
- To enable or change syncing later, go to Settings > Profiles and Accounts > [default profile] > Photos, then select iCloud Photos. Confirm the request on another Apple device.
- Use the default profile for this setup: Apple says only that profile can sync its iCloud photos and view content in the Photos app.

For a slideshow, select the album, choose Play Slideshow, adjust any options you want, and start playback. For a screen saver, select an album and choose Set as Screen Saver, then confirm. Apple also documents choosing memories or albums through Settings > Screen Saver > Memories & Slideshows.
