To show Hindi song names in a 24/7 YouTube stream, add a now-playing text or graphic overlay to the video scene you send to YouTube. In OBS, one route is a browser-source overlay that receives track titles from YouTube chapters or a playlist in the video description. Check that its title data follows the actual playback order, then preview real Devanagari titles before relying on it.
How the song name gets onto the stream
A song title is visible in the picture only if it is included in the video sent to YouTube. Add a current-track overlay to the scene that goes live; it needs both a display, such as text or a graphic, and a source of current-track information that updates when the music changes.

An OBS Project forum resource describes a browser-source now-playing overlay for YouTube and YouTube Music. It lists YouTube chapters or video-description playlists as possible title inputs. The resource was initially released April 12, 2024, and last updated September 18, 2025. Those inputs are useful only if they match the stream’s actual playback order; do not assume the overlay can work out the correct song from audio on its own. View the OBS forum resource.
Set up and check a now-playing overlay
- Choose the label. Decide whether it should show the official song title alone or the title and artist. Use the rights holder’s supplied spelling and credits where available rather than creating credits yourself.
- Choose the track-data source. For the cited browser-source approach, prepare YouTube chapters or a video-description playlist as appropriate. Compare their order and titles with the music that will actually play. If the schedule changes independently, the displayed title can become out of sync.
- Add the browser source to the live scene. In OBS, add the overlay as a Browser source to the scene that is actually sent to the livestream. Position it so it is readable without obscuring important visuals. The overlay listing describes the route; it does not establish that every setup will install or run successfully.
- Preview real Hindi titles. Test a representative title, including the longest expected title and artist credit. Check that Devanagari characters render, the font is legible, contrast is sufficient, long text wraps or scrolls acceptably, and the label changes at the right track boundary. Hindi-specific glyph rendering is not verified by the cited listing.
- Keep the stream metadata separate. The changing in-picture label is not a replacement for the stream’s title and description. YouTube’s Content ID reference metadata guidance names title, artist, and record label for eligible reference assets; those are requirements for eligible partners, not instructions that every creator must follow for an overlay. Why YouTube’s Music section is not a dependable overlay
YouTube may show a “Music” section with song and artist information on some videos under particular identification or Audio Library conditions. It is not documented as a configurable, continuously updating label for every item in a live stream. YouTube says information may be absent when it lacks sufficient rights-holder data, has not identified the music, or a recent claim’s information has not populated. YouTube Help: Music in this video.

If music is managed by a label, publisher, or collection society, ask whether the metadata supplied to YouTube is correct. YouTube identifies ISRC, ISWC, UPC, and ISNI among the identifiers that may help with music information. Accurate upstream metadata can help YouTube identify music, but it does not guarantee that the Music section will appear or replace an overlay you control.
Song labels do not grant music rights
Displaying a title or credit is not permission to play the recording. YouTube scans live streams for third-party content; a match can lead to a warning, placeholder, interruption, or termination. Even licensed third-party material may require the rights owner to add your channel to its allowlist. Review YouTube Help: Copyright issues with live streams before going live.

Troubleshooting song-name display
- No title appears: Confirm the overlay is loaded as a Browser source in the scene being streamed, and check that it has a usable title input such as the chapters or description playlist supported by the chosen setup.
- The wrong song is shown: Compare the overlay’s title source with the actual playback sequence, including any skips, repeats, or schedule changes. Correct the input or playback order; do not assume audio recognition.
- Hindi text appears as boxes or broken characters: Try a font and browser-source configuration that supports the required Devanagari glyphs, then preview the exact titles again. The cited listing does not verify Hindi rendering.
- Long titles are clipped or hard to read: Test the longest title-and-artist combination, adjust the overlay area and text layout, and check it at the size viewers will see in the stream.
- YouTube’s Music section is missing or incorrect: That section is conditional, not a guaranteed live overlay. Check the supplied music metadata and identifiers with the relevant rights holder; use an in-picture overlay when you need a visible label you control.
- The livestream is interrupted despite showing credits: Credits do not resolve rights claims. Review YouTube’s live copyright guidance, licensing coverage, and any allowlisting requirement with the rights owner.
