To delete Bumble, use the app or Bumble.com: open Settings, choose Delete account, select a reason, and confirm. Uninstalling the app or going inactive only removes the app from your phone; it does not delete your profile. Cancel Boost, Premium, or Premium+ separately before the next renewal. Bumble hides your profile after deletion, but normally keeps a 28-day restoration window, and some data can remain longer under its retention, safety, and legal policies.
What happens when you delete Bumble
Account deletion and data erasure are related but different actions. The normal Delete account control removes your profile from public view and starts Bumble’s account-deletion process. Bumble says you can contact its team within 28 days if you change your mind and have the profile reactivated. After that window, the account cannot be regained through the normal reactivation process and information begins to be removed.

Deletion is not an instant, unconditional wipe of every record. Bumble’s Privacy Policy says almost all profile data is deleted 28 days after account deletion or erasure, while specific categories can be retained for stated periods. Bumble may also keep information needed for blocked-account enforcement, safety investigations, legal obligations, regulatory duties, or responses to your requests.

Before you delete the account
Cancel paid subscriptions separately
Deleting your Bumble profile does not necessarily cancel Boost, Premium, or Premium+. Cancel the subscription before its next renewal using the subscription manager or billing channel that charged you. A deleted profile and a canceled recurring payment are separate actions, so check for a cancellation confirmation and retain it.
Request information or conversations you need
If you want a copy of account information or past conversations, ask Bumble Support through support chat and state that you want to Request data. Bumble says a request can take up to 30 days. It may be unable to retrieve data if the profile has already been deleted for more than 28 days, so make this request before deleting whenever possible.
Understand the 28-day decision window
Deletion removes the profile from public view, but it is reversible through Bumble Support for up to 28 days. Treat that period as a restoration window, not as a guarantee that every record has already been erased. If you are certain you will not return, submit a Data Erasure Request rather than relying only on the normal deletion control.

Consider information outside Bumble’s control
Bumble’s Privacy Policy warns that copies previously shared, copied, or stored by other people may remain accessible outside Bumble. Deleting the account cannot remove screenshots, copied messages, or other material held by someone else.

Delete your Bumble account in the mobile app
The same basic path applies on iOS and Android. Use the account controls rather than deleting the app first.
- Open the Bumble app and sign in to the account you want to remove.
- Tap the profile icon.
- Tap the gear icon to open Settings.
- Scroll to the bottom of Settings.
- Tap Delete account.
- Choose the reason Bumble asks for.
- Confirm the final on-screen prompt.
Do not stop after uninstalling the app. Removing the app from your phone, signing out, or remaining inactive does not delete the Bumble profile. If the Delete account control is missing, confirm that you are signed into the correct profile and that the app has finished loading your account settings; then use Bumble Support if the control still cannot be accessed.
Delete your Bumble account on the web
- Go to Bumble.com and log in.
- Click your profile picture.
- Choose Settings.
- Scroll to the bottom of the Settings page.
- Click Delete account.
- Choose a reason.
- Confirm the final prompt.
The web and mobile controls initiate the same kind of account deletion. If you use both versions, completing the deletion once is sufficient; signing out of the other version does not substitute for the Delete account command.

Use Bumble’s Data Erasure Request when you want erasure to begin immediately or want support to handle a broader personal-data request. The request is separate from deleting the profile.

- Open Bumble Support and locate the Data Erasure Request option.
- Submit the request using the account details support asks for.
- Explain that you want your personal data erased and include any relevant account identifiers.
- Complete identity verification if Bumble requests it.
- Keep the confirmation or case reference so you can follow up.
Bumble says processing may take up to 30 days. “Immediate” in this context means the erasure process can be started when support receives the request; it does not mean every record disappears at once. Policy-based retention, safety records, legal requirements, and information held by other people can still limit what is removed.

What Bumble may retain after deletion
Bumble’s current Privacy Policy distinguishes between ordinary profile removal and categories that have defined retention periods. The periods below are measured from account deletion or erasure unless the policy states otherwise.

Bumble also says it may retain basic account data for blocked profiles to enforce the block and may retain information for legal or regulatory reasons. These retention periods do not mean your profile remains visible; Bumble says a deleted account is no longer viewable in the app.

Deleting the account removes your Bumble profile from public view, but it does not guarantee that every conversation or copy disappears from another person’s device. Someone may have copied, saved, or screenshotted information before deletion. Those copies are outside Bumble’s control.

If you need your own account information or past conversations, request the data before deleting the profile. Bumble says support may be unable to retrieve data once the profile has been deleted for more than 28 days, and fulfillment can take up to 30 days.

- Save the deletion confirmation or a screenshot of the final confirmation screen.
- Verify that any Boost, Premium, or Premium+ subscription is canceled in the store or billing channel that charged you.
- Do not reinstall and sign in during the 28-day window unless you intend to ask Bumble Support for reactivation.
- If you requested data, keep the support case details until the response arrives.
- If you need faster or broader erasure, submit the Data Erasure Request and retain its confirmation.
- Remove Bumble from your phone only after completing the account deletion steps; uninstalling by itself is not deletion.
Troubleshooting common deletion problems
The app is gone, but the profile still appears
Uninstalling does not delete an account. Reinstall the app or use Bumble.com, sign in, and follow the Delete account path. If you cannot access the account, contact Bumble Support and explain that you need the profile deleted.
A subscription renewed after account deletion
Profile deletion does not necessarily cancel recurring billing. Cancel the subscription separately through the channel that billed you and contact that billing channel or Bumble Support with the payment details if a renewal needs investigation.
You deleted the profile and then changed your mind
Bumble says you have up to 28 days to contact its team for reactivation. After 28 days, the normal restoration window has ended and the account cannot be regained through that process.
Support asks for identity verification
Identity verification can be part of a Data Erasure Request. Provide only the information needed through Bumble’s official support process, and keep the case confirmation so you can track the request.
You want data after the 28-day window
Bumble says it may be unable to retrieve data when the profile has been deleted for more than 28 days. You can still ask support, but availability is not guaranteed and a response may take up to 30 days.
You expect every record to disappear immediately
That expectation conflicts with Bumble’s stated policy. Public visibility, the 28-day restoration period, policy retention periods, safety records, legal duties, and copies held by other people all affect what deletion can accomplish.
The shortest safe sequence
For most people, the safest order is: request any data or conversations you need, cancel the subscription, delete the account through the app or web Settings control, then submit a Data Erasure Request if immediate or broader erasure matters. This sequence separates billing, account visibility, data access, and retention so one action is not mistaken for another.
