To delete a karaoke-app account, use that app’s built-in deletion control or its official support process, then complete any confirmation it requires. Uninstalling the app only removes the software from your phone; it is not the documented account-deletion method in the official instructions covered here.
Before you confirm, save recordings and other material you want to keep, cancel any paid subscription through the service that billed you, and record the request date. The exact menu, waiting period and data removed depend on the app, platform and applicable regional policy. The steps below cover Smule on iOS and Android and StarMaker’s United States policy; do not assume they apply to another karaoke service.

Prepare before you submit a deletion request
Account deletion is usually permanent. Treat the confirmation screen as the last chance to retrieve anything associated with the profile.

Write down the app name, whether you use iOS or Android, and the country or region associated with the account. Menu labels and privacy rights can differ by platform and location. The StarMaker route described below is specifically for users in the United States, while the Smule instructions are platform-specific help-center procedures.

Save recordings and other content
Export or download performances, drafts, profile images and any other material you want to retain. Smule says deletion removes account content and cannot be reversed after completion. Its Android instructions also warn that content can include recordings made by other users using arrangements you uploaded, so review the consequences for collaborations before confirming.
Check how you are billed
Account deletion and subscription cancellation are separate actions. Find the service that appears on your payment receipt—your phone’s app-store subscription page or the karaoke service’s website—and cancel there. Deleting an account does not necessarily stop recurring VIP billing.
Keep access to your email and account
Some services send a confirmation message or require a reply before processing the request. Make sure you can open the email address linked to the profile, and save the transaction ID if support gives you one.
The safe, app-agnostic deletion process
Use this sequence when your karaoke service is not one of the examples below. It keeps the request tied to the official account record and gives you evidence if something goes wrong.
- Open the account area. In the app, look under Settings, Account, Privacy or Account security. Search the service’s own help center if no deletion control is visible.
- Choose the permanent option. Distinguish “delete account” from “log out,” “deactivate,” “clear cache” or “remove this device.” Those options do not necessarily erase the profile.
- Read the consequences. Check whether performances, comments, followers, messages, groups, gifts, drafts or linked profiles will disappear, and whether a cancellation period allows you to change your mind.
- Complete identity confirmation. Follow an in-app confirmation, email reply, password prompt or support-ticket instruction exactly. A request that is started but not confirmed may remain pending.
- Record the request. Screenshot the final status, write down the date and retain every confirmation email or ticket number.
- Cancel billing separately. Verify that the subscription shows a canceled status with the store or website that charged you.
- Wait for the service’s stated period. Do not assume that signing out, deleting the app or changing your username completes the process.

- Open Smule and tap Settings.
- Open Support.
- Tap Delete Account.
- Review the warning, save anything you need, and confirm the request when prompted.
The iOS instructions say deletion happens after 30 days. During that period, follow the status or confirmation information shown for your request. Smule’s page explicitly warns: “Note that requesting account deletion does NOT cancel your VIP subscription.”
Cancel an Apple-billed VIP subscription
If Apple handles the payment, cancel through the device’s Apple subscription management screen rather than relying on the Smule deletion request. Confirm that the subscription is marked canceled and note its expiration date. The account request and the billing cancellation are two separate records.

If you paid on Smule’s website, cancel the subscription on Smule.com before submitting account deletion. If deletion has already started and website billing is still active, Smule’s Android help article directs users to contact support and provide the transaction ID; the same precaution is sensible for an iOS account with website billing.
Deleting a Smule account on Android
Smule’s Android instructions, dated November 7, 2024, provide both a self-service route and a support route.
Self-service route
- Open Smule and go to Account settings.
- Tap Support.
- Choose Delete Account.
- Read the content and subscription warnings, then submit the request.
Support-ticket route
- Open Smule’s official support request form.
- Select Remove Smule Profile (Account Deletion).
- Submit the request using the account’s contact details.
- When the confirmation email arrives, reply with I confirm as instructed.
The support route is not complete until the required confirmation reply is sent. Keep the email thread and any ticket number.

The Android page says deletion occurs after 30 days and that all content is removed in the process. Its exact warning is: “Deleting your account is irreversible, and all content will be removed in the process, and cannot be restored.” The page also says VIP is not canceled automatically.

Smule’s general deletion FAQ, dated October 27, 2023, lists account-related performances, comments, followers, likes, gifts and groups as deletion effects. It notes an exception for your participation in another user’s group performance: joins to those group performances are treated differently from performances on your own account.
The Android guidance adds that recordings created by other users using arrangements you uploaded can be affected. If another singer relies on one of your arrangements, save the arrangement or recording information you need before submitting the request and read the current warning on the deletion screen.
Linked Smule apps
Smule’s FAQ says deletion can affect associated accounts in its other apps, naming Magic Piano, AutoRap and Style Studio. If you use those profiles, check whether the confirmation screen lists them and export anything you want to preserve before proceeding.
Can you change your mind?
Smule says an account can be reactivated only while it is in the deletion process. Once deletion is complete, the account cannot be restored. If you decide to keep the account, use the reactivation instructions supplied in the confirmation or status message before the waiting period ends; do not assume simply reinstalling the app will stop deletion.

Why Smule’s deletion timing is confusing
Smule publishes two different timelines. Its iOS and Android instruction pages say the account is deleted after 30 days. Its general deletion FAQ says deletion occurs 7 to 28 days after submission. Those statements are inconsistent, and neither should be presented as a universal guarantee.
Use the timing attached to your own request—the confirmation email, in-app status or support response—as the practical reference. Keep the date you submitted the request so you can identify the case if the account remains visible after the applicable period. Do not create a second request merely because one page uses a different number; contact official support with the original confirmation instead.
Canceling Smule VIP without losing track of billing
Deleting a Smule profile does not cancel VIP. Match the cancellation method to the original purchase channel:
- Apple purchase: cancel in Apple’s subscription management settings. The store controls renewal, not the Smule account-deletion form.
- Website purchase: cancel on Smule.com before submitting deletion. If the deletion process has already begun, contact Smule support and include the transaction ID, as the Android help page instructs.
- Other payment record: use the receipt to identify the merchant, then verify cancellation with that merchant. Do not assume deleting the app or removing a payment card ends a subscription.
After cancellation, retain the receipt or screenshot showing the renewal status. Account deletion and the end of the paid period can occur on different dates.

Deleting a StarMaker account in the United States
StarMaker’s United States privacy policy, effective May 1, 2023, gives an in-app route for an account and related personal-data deletion request:
- Open StarMaker and go to Settings.
- Open Account Security.
- Tap Delete Account.
- Read the warning and submit the request.
The policy warns that after the request is submitted, you will no longer be able to use StarMaker. The policy excerpt does not provide a completion period, so do not promise a number of days. Save the submission confirmation and contact StarMaker’s official support channel if the account remains accessible or you need to clarify the status.
What the App Store privacy listing does—and does not—prove
The StarMaker App Store listing accessed October 13, 2026 displays developer-reported categories that include audio data, photos or videos, user content, identifiers, usage data and other categories. Apple states that the developer’s privacy responses have not been verified by Apple. Treat that listing as a disclosure snapshot, not an exhaustive inventory and not a guarantee that every copy of every category disappears immediately when an account is deleted.
What an in-app deletion request may not erase immediately
An account request normally targets the account and personal data described by the service’s policy. It does not justify promising instant erasure from every system. The policies covered here do not establish that all backups, records retained for legal reasons or data held by independent third parties are removed at the same moment as the visible profile.
Use the service’s current privacy policy for your country to understand retention exceptions. If you need confirmation about a particular recording, payment record or support ticket, ask the service directly and identify the deletion request rather than opening a new account.
Troubleshooting when deletion does not work
The delete option is missing
- Confirm that you are signed into the correct profile and current app version.
- Check the account, privacy, support and account-security menus; names vary by platform.
- Use the service’s official help center or support form rather than a third-party “account removal” service.
The confirmation email never arrives
- Check spam, promotions and filtered folders.
- Verify the email address on the account and allow messages from the service.
- Do not submit repeated requests if one is already pending; contact official support and quote the original ticket or request date.
The account is still visible after the waiting period
Keep the original confirmation and contact the service’s official support channel. Include the platform, username, request date and ticket or transaction ID, but do not send a password or payment-card number in an unsecured message.
Billing continues
Check the store or website that issued the receipt. If the subscription is still active, cancel it there and retain proof. For Smule website billing after deletion has started, include the transaction ID when contacting support.

After you submit: a records checklist
- Save the confirmation email, screenshot or support-ticket number in a secure place.
- Write down the submission date and the account identifier used by the service.
- Verify that the relevant Apple, Android or website subscription shows canceled status.
- Do not log back in unless the service says that doing so will not reactivate or interrupt the request.
- When the stated or confirmed period has passed, test only through the service’s official sign-in or support route; avoid creating a replacement account until you understand whether the old request is complete.
- If data remains or billing continues, send support the original confirmation and request a status explanation.
Key points to remember
Use the karaoke app’s own deletion control or official support process, not an uninstall. Save your performances first, because Smule says completed deletion cannot be reversed. Cancel VIP or another paid plan through the channel that billed it. Smule’s pages give conflicting waiting periods—30 days on its platform instructions and 7 to 28 days in its general FAQ—so rely on the confirmation tied to your request. StarMaker’s United States policy provides the in-app path but no completion timeline. For every other karaoke app, read the current policy for your platform and region before you confirm.
