Apple documents ways to delete eligible Siri and Dictation history on Mac and Siri history associated with HomePod. Deleting history is separate from turning off Improve Siri & Dictation, which controls optional future sharing. Apple’s cited guidance does not establish an iPhone or iPad deletion-specific path, so don’t assume the Mac or HomePod steps apply there.
Delete Siri and Dictation history on Mac
Apple’s Mac instructions require an internet connection. The deletion control covers audio recordings and transcripts associated with a random identifier that are less than six months old; it should not be read as a guarantee that every record, on every device or for every time period, is removed.

- Connect your Mac to the internet.
- Open System Settings and choose Apple Intelligence & Siri or Siri in the sidebar. The label depends on the available settings.
- Select Delete Siri & Dictation History.
- Confirm by selecting Delete.
Apple’s Mac instructions say deletion does not change the choice you made about sharing audio recordings.

Delete Siri history associated with HomePod
Apple’s HomePod instructions apply to HomePod software version 27 or later. Use the Home app on an iPhone or iPad to remove the Siri interactions currently associated with that HomePod:

Apple documents how to change the Improve Siri & Dictation sharing setting on iPhone and iPad, but the cited instructions do not provide a deletion-specific procedure for those devices. Don’t use the Mac or HomePod menus as substitutes; check Apple’s current guidance for your iOS or iPadOS version before attempting to delete history directly from an iPhone or iPad.

Turn off optional future sharing separately
If your goal is to stop participating in Improve Siri & Dictation, change that setting separately from deleting history. Apple’s documented paths are:
- iPhone or iPad: Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements.
- Mac: System Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements.
Open Apple’s Improve Siri & Dictation privacy information for its explanations of the setting and data handling. Apple says enabling it may result in storage and review of samples that include audio recordings, transcripts, and related request data. Apple says this information is associated with a random device-generated identifier, not an Apple Account or email address; only Apple employees review audio recordings, while graders may review a subset of non-audio samples. Apple also says request history is not used to build a marketing profile and is never sold. These are Apple’s stated practices.

What Mac Dictation processing depends on
Dictation processing is not necessarily the same for every kind of input. Apple says Keyboard settings can show whether voice inputs and transcripts for general text Dictation are processed on-device rather than sent to Siri servers; its example excludes dictation in a search box.
