Use the free Razer Controller Setup for Xbox app to remap controls on a supported Wolverine controller. The basic path is profile → Edit → Assign Buttons → select a control → choose a function → Done. Sensitivity is not universal across the Wolverine family: Razer explicitly advertises thumbstick-sensitivity adjustment for the Wolverine V3 Tournament Edition, and its Wolverine Ultimate FAQ also lists thumbstick sensitivity adjustment, while the cited Wolverine V2 documentation confirms remapping and trigger stops but does not establish the same sensitivity control.
Because features vary by generation and edition, identify the exact model first. Do not assume that an option shown for one Wolverine will appear for another.

What you need before changing anything
Have the controller, a compatible Xbox or Windows setup, and the Razer Controller Setup for Xbox app ready. Razer describes the app as free. The app supports multiple Wolverine generations, but support for the app does not mean every model exposes the same controls.

- Install or open the current Razer Controller Setup for Xbox app and connect the controller before editing a profile.
- If you rely on profiles without an internet connection, keep the profiles you need on the controller’s onboard storage. Razer says offline use is limited to profiles available there.
- Keep expectations model-specific. Button assignment, vibration options, trigger-stop controls and thumbstick sensitivity can differ between editions.
Razer’s cited support pages were updated between February 25 and August 20, 2026. Menu names and compatibility can change, so the exact model and the current app build remain the final check.

Which Wolverine models work with the app?
Razer’s supported-device list includes the following families. The list establishes app compatibility; it does not promise that each family has every feature advertised for another model.

If your model is absent from the supported-device list, do not proceed on the assumption that the app will detect it. A detection problem and a missing feature are different issues: first establish that the controller is supported, then check which controls the app presents.
How to remap buttons
Razer’s documented workflow uses a profile editor. The labels below are the exact menu names given in its support instructions.
- Open Razer Controller Setup for Xbox. Connect the Wolverine and wait for it to appear.
- Select the profile you want to change. Editing the wrong profile is the most common reason a remap appears not to work.
- Choose Edit.
- Choose Assign Buttons.
- Select the control shown in the assignment screen. Choose the replacement function from the available list.
- Choose Done. Razer says the assignments are saved to the selected profile.
- Activate that profile on the controller and test the changed control in a safe menu or practice area before entering a match.
Use one change at a time when troubleshooting. For example, move a frequently used action to one multi-function button, save with Done, and test it before changing a second control. This makes it clear which assignment caused a problem.

What can be assigned?
The app presents the functions available to the connected model. A control visible in one Wolverine edition may not appear on another. Treat the on-screen list as authoritative for that controller rather than copying a layout from a different generation.
How to disable a supported multi-function button
Razer’s instructions say to select the no symbol when you want to disable a supported multi-function button. Save with Done and test the profile. Disabling a button is useful when an accidental press is worse than losing the extra command, but it also removes that control until you assign it again.
How to clear every multi-function assignment
Within the assignment screen, choose Clear All and confirm. This removes the current multi-function assignments in that profile. It is a bulk action, so use it only when you intend to rebuild the layout.

Choose Restore to Default in the assignment controls and confirm. This is the quickest recovery if a profile has become confusing or you no longer remember which controls were changed. After restoring, select Done and test the default layout.

How profiles and offline use affect your remap
Assignments belong to a profile, not automatically to every profile on the controller. If one game uses a left-stick click replacement and another uses the default layout, edit and activate the appropriate profile before testing.
Razer’s FAQ says the app can be used offline, but only with profiles available on the controller’s onboard storage. When the app closes, the active profile reverts to the onboard profile. In practice:
- Save the layout you need to onboard storage before disconnecting or closing the app.
- Do not judge a remap immediately after closing the app unless the desired profile is the onboard profile.
- If a change vanishes, reopen the app, select the intended profile, confirm the assignment, choose Done, and verify which profile is onboard.
How to adjust thumbstick sensitivity
Sensitivity is model-dependent, so there is no single Wolverine-wide instruction that can honestly be promised. Razer’s Wolverine V3 Tournament Edition product information specifically says its dedicated app can adjust thumbstick sensitivity and create custom button layouts. Razer’s Wolverine Ultimate FAQ also lists thumbstick-sensitivity adjustment. The cited Wolverine V2 FAQ documents remapping and trigger stops but does not establish that it offers the same stick-sensitivity control.
V3 Tournament Edition: the clearest documented case
- Connect the Wolverine V3 Tournament Edition and open Razer Controller Setup for Xbox.
- Select the profile you want to use for the sensitivity change.
- Open that profile’s editing controls. Look for the model-specific thumbstick sensitivity control presented by the app.
- Adjust the available sensitivity setting, save the profile, and test it in a low-risk game menu or practice area.
- If the response feels wrong, return to the same control and make a smaller change rather than changing several settings at once.
The cited product information confirms the feature, but it does not publish a universal numeric range or a single recommended value. Do not treat a value from another controller, game or firmware version as a documented V3 Tournament Edition standard.

Wolverine Ultimate
Razer’s Ultimate FAQ lists thumbstick-sensitivity adjustment. Open the connected controller’s profile and use the sensitivity control if the current app exposes it. The exact on-screen labels and range are not established in the cited material, so follow the controls displayed for your detected Ultimate edition.
V2, V2 Chroma and other variants
For Wolverine V2, the cited FAQ establishes button remapping and trigger stops, but not the same thumbstick-sensitivity adjustment. V2 Chroma and V3 Pro families are listed as app-supported, yet the supplied feature descriptions do not establish a universal sensitivity control for every variant. If no sensitivity option appears for your model, that absence is a feature limitation or model difference—not a remapping error.
Button mapping and sensitivity are separate controls
Remapping changes what a button does; sensitivity changes how stick movement is interpreted. A remap will not make a stick faster or slower, and a sensitivity adjustment will not change a button’s function. Make and save these changes independently so that you can identify which setting affects your gameplay.

Troubleshooting a remap that does not work
The controller is not detected
- Check the exact model against Razer’s supported-device list. A similar name does not guarantee compatibility.
- Reconnect the controller, restart the app, and wait for the device to appear before selecting a profile.
- Confirm that you are editing the connected controller rather than looking at a previously saved profile with no active device.
The assignment saved but the old action still happens
- Check that you selected the intended profile before choosing Edit.
- Confirm that you completed the save path with Done.
- Activate the edited profile. If the app has closed, remember that Razer says the active profile reverts to the onboard profile.
- Test outside the game’s own remapping menu. A game-level layout can override or reinterpret the controller input.
A multi-function button still triggers an unwanted command
Return to Edit → Assign Buttons, select that control and choose the no symbol to disable it. If several assignments are confusing, use Clear All, confirm, and rebuild only the controls you need. Use Restore to Default when you want the original layout instead.
The sensitivity control is missing
- Verify the exact model. Sensitivity is not established across the whole Wolverine range.
- Check that the app has detected the controller rather than showing a generic or disconnected state.
- Do not substitute a V3 Tournament Edition instruction for a V2 or another edition. The V3 Tournament Edition feature is explicitly advertised; the cited V2 documentation does not make the same claim.

The profile works online but not offline

Recommended workflow for a reliable setup
- Write down the exact controller model.
- Confirm it is listed as supported by Razer Controller Setup for Xbox.
- Create or select a profile for the game or play style.
- Remap one control through Edit → Assign Buttons, then choose Done.
- If your model documents sensitivity adjustment, change only that setting and test it separately.
- Save the profile where you can use it. For offline play, that means onboard storage.
- Close and reopen the app, or switch profiles, to confirm the layout survives the way you intend to use it.
- Keep a default profile available so Restore to Default is not your only recovery route.
The practical rule is simple: button mapping follows the profile editor, while sensitivity follows the exact model. Use the app’s detected controls as the final authority, and do not assume that a feature advertised for one Wolverine edition exists on another.
