If you want the audio of one continuous live stream to change at a certain time, configure separate media sources or scenes in your encoder and switch them; YouTube playlists do not schedule that change. For distinct programs with separate watch pages, schedule two live events. Whichever workflow you choose, secure the rights needed to stream every track.
First decide what “separate playlists” should do

YouTube’s playlist guidance covers making, editing, and ordering playlists, while its live-stream guidance treats the encoder connection and stream settings separately. The reviewed guidance does not document a YouTube playlist that changes the audio of a continuous live broadcast automatically at a time boundary. Create the two playlists in YouTube Studio
- Open YouTube Studio and select Create → New playlist.
- Create a first playlist with a clear title, for example Indian Music — Daytime. Add a description that explains its mood or intended listening period.
- Repeat for Indian Music — Nighttime, using a description that distinguishes it from the daytime collection. These titles are suggestions, not required YouTube wording.
- Choose visibility for each playlist: public for discovery and sharing, unlisted for access by link, or private for internal curation. Check the current interface before publishing, since account circumstances can affect availability.
- Add the videos intended for each collection. Arrange them deliberately; YouTube Studio supports reordering by dragging videos. Revisit the lists to remove videos that are no longer available.
- Where available, give the two playlists distinct visual identities. Link them from channel surfaces, a stream description, or a pinned comment if viewers should be able to choose between them.
YouTube Help currently documents a 150-character playlist-title limit and a 5,000-character description limit. It also notes a daily cap on public playlist creation across YouTube, YouTube Music, and the API; features may differ for supervised accounts. See YouTube’s playlist management page.

If one live stream must switch from day to night
Build the change into the encoder, rather than expecting the channel playlists to control a live feed. In OBS, prepare separate Day and Night scenes or otherwise keep the media sources distinct. For local video or audio files, OBS’s VLC Video Source can hold a playlist; VLC must be installed for that source to appear. OBS describes it as supporting a playlist of items, similar to an image slideshow. See OBS Media Sources.

- Install OBS and VLC, then open OBS and create a Day scene and a Night scene using the Scenes panel.
- In each scene, add the relevant media source. For a VLC Video Source, add the local files in the intended order. Leave shuffle off for a fixed sequence; turn on looping if the rotation should repeat.
- Set up the stream connection in YouTube Live Control Room. Use the server URL and stream key provided in YouTube’s stream settings to connect the encoder. Treat the key like a password: do not publish or share it. YouTube’s instructions are at Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder.
- Switch from the Day scene to Night at the transition using the Scenes controls or a configured scene-switching hotkey. OBS supports hotkeys for scene switching; the cited guidance does not establish a clock-based automatic transition by itself. See OBS Studio Overview Guide.
Test the transition privately or with an unlisted event before relying on it for a public continuous stream. Confirm that the incoming scene has the intended media, audio level, and loop behavior, and that switching does not leave viewers with unintended silence or an empty source.
Schedule two broadcasts when they are separate programs
If the daytime and nighttime streams are distinct shows, schedule separate events in YouTube Live Control Room and use different titles, descriptions, start times, and stream content. YouTube says scheduling lets creators promote a stream; an upcoming event can be shared and viewers can opt into reminders. Scheduling creates event pages, but does not itself automate a day-to-night audio change within one continuous stream. Details are in YouTube’s encoder streaming instructions.

Use YouTube Music playlists only for viewer navigation
YouTube Music has its own playlist workflow, and its playlists can appear in YouTube and YouTube Music libraries. The service focuses on music videos and some content or account restrictions apply, so it is not a control panel for the audio sent by an encoder. See YouTube Music playlist help.

Clear music rights before streaming
A track being available on YouTube or included in a playlist does not establish that you can use it in a live broadcast. YouTube’s live-stream terms say creators represent that they have the necessary rights for live content on Google services worldwide, including music licensing rights from artists, record labels, publishers (including public-performance licenses), and other royalty participants. Review the YouTube livestream terms and conditions and verify the rights for your particular repertoire and territories. The platform guidance does not determine which Indian licenses, repertoire permissions, collecting-society permissions, or direct clearances a specific channel needs; do not assume a playlist or a track’s availability settles that question.
