Drag them into order and save the product. The featured Product Image appears first automatically, so you do not need to add it to the gallery again.
Add images to a WooCommerce product gallery

In your WordPress dashboard, go to Products and open the product you want to edit, or select Add New to create one.

Set the main photo in the Product Image box. This is the featured image used as the primary product view and reused at different sizes around the store.

In the Product gallery box, select Add product gallery images. Choose existing images from the Media Library or upload new ones, then select Add to gallery.

Drag the gallery images into the order you want customers to see them.

Select Update or Publish, then view the product page to check the result.
To remove an image from the gallery, use its red X/delete control in the product editor. This removes it from that gallery but leaves the file in the Media Library. These product-image and gallery steps are documented by WooCommerce.

Choose image sizes and thumbnail cropping
WooCommerce recommends images of at least 800 × 800 pixels. The documentation says this size renders well in single-product, catalog, and thumbnail uses; larger images can help show fine details. It is a recommendation, not a guarantee of how every storefront will render an image: the active theme and image settings affect the displayed result.

The Customizer may offer square (1:1), custom-ratio, or uncropped thumbnails. If that section is missing, your theme may control image sizes itself or your site may use a block theme; check the active theme’s settings rather than assuming the same controls are available everywhere. See WooCommerce’s Customizer documentation.
Set up the gallery in a block theme
Block themes build the single-product page from blocks, so gallery layout may be controlled in the product template rather than only in the product editor. Open the site editor and inspect the Single Product template to see which gallery block it uses before changing the layout.

Product Gallery block
The Product Gallery block contains Thumbnails and Viewer inner blocks. Thumbnails let shoppers select an item; the Viewer displays the selected image or video. Block controls include thumbnail orientation, size, aspect ratio, and active-thumbnail styling. You can remove the Thumbnail block if you do not want thumbnails. WooCommerce documents this block in its Product Gallery block guide.
Product Image Gallery block
WooCommerce also documents a separate Product Image Gallery block. It is not interchangeable with the Product Gallery block in every template context. WooCommerce notes a compatibility issue when the classic Product Image Gallery block is used with the Add to Cart + Options (Beta) block. Check the blocks in your actual template before replacing or rearranging them; see WooCommerce’s product-page documentation.

WooCommerce documents gallery video as a beta feature starting with WooCommerce 11.1. It is off by default. To enable it, go to WooCommerce > Settings > Advanced > Features, turn on Product gallery videos under Experimental features, and save. Edit the product, select Add media to product gallery, and choose a video already uploaded to the site’s Media Library. The core beta does not accept embedded YouTube or Vimeo videos, so upload the video file first.

The featured Product Image must remain an image; it cannot be a video. WooCommerce names MP4 (H.264) as a format with broad browser playback support, subject to your host’s upload limits. Gallery videos autoplay muted and loop without playback controls, so use short clips that make sense without sound. A video’s featured image can be used as its poster; add alt text to that poster.
The beta has specific limitations: videos are not included in variation galleries, product CSV import/export, or the REST API. If you turn the feature off, videos are hidden from the editor and product page but are not deleted. Consult WooCommerce’s gallery documentation for the feature details.

Start with WooCommerce’s built-in gallery if it provides the layout and controls your active theme or product template needs. Consider an extension only if you need additional layouts or media handling that core and your theme do not provide.
