To run Christian meditation or prayer recordings as a continuous YouTube Live broadcast, prepare a rights-cleared playlist and visual, send it through an encoder to YouTube over RTMPS, and monitor both the encoder and stream health. YouTube does not promise an uninterrupted 24/7 event, so plan how you will detect and recover from a drop before going live.
Check that your channel can go live
YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. Check the channel’s live-streaming status in YouTube Studio before preparing a continuous broadcast; encoder streaming is one of YouTube’s supported ways to go live. YouTube’s live-streaming requirements state that both conditions must be met.

Clear the recordings and artwork before you build the stream
Make sure you have the necessary rights to every recording and visual you use, including music, spoken prayers, meditation guidance, artwork, and other material. Keep records of the permissions or licenses.

YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. If it detects a match, it may replace the stream with a placeholder, interrupt it, or terminate it. A license alone may not prevent an interruption: the rights holder may need to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist. Ask the rights holder about allowlisting before launch and confirm that it is complete. If you choose to archive a live stream, YouTube says Content ID claims on that archive are made after the live stream ends. YouTube’s copyright guidance for live streams explains these risks.

Prepare a continuous program and visual
Arrange your cleared recordings into the sequence you want viewers to hear, and prepare a static or slowly changing prayer or meditation visual. Add a readable title if useful. An encoder running on a computer can send this prepared program to YouTube; YouTube’s documentation supports encoder-based streaming, but does not establish a YouTube-native looping feature for recordings. The loop or playlist must be handled by your encoder workflow.
There is no minimum computer specification established in the platform guidance cited here. Choose a computer and network that can sustain your chosen encoding settings, and consider how you will notice and recover from equipment or connection failure. A dedicated computer is one possible setup, not a guarantee of uptime.

Set up YouTube Live and connect the encoder
- In YouTube Studio, create or schedule a live stream and select the encoder workflow.
- Copy the RTMPS server address and stream key displayed for that stream into the corresponding encoder fields. Use the details shown in Studio rather than a guessed or reused endpoint.
- Keep the stream key private. Anyone who obtains it may be able to send a feed to your broadcast.
- Connect using RTMPS, YouTube’s recommended secure option for ordinary live streams. RTMPS is RTMP over SSL; Google’s technical documentation specifies port 443. See Google’s RTMPS ingestion guide.
Choose settings your connection can sustain
YouTube’s published recommendations include the following settings. They are platform guidance, not a guarantee that your particular upload connection can maintain the stream.

These recommendations are from YouTube’s encoder settings guidance; the reviewed page does not show a publication date. Match the video quality to what your connection can hold steadily rather than choosing a high bitrate that causes interruptions.

Rehearse, launch, and monitor
- Run a private or unlisted rehearsal where available, using comparable video and the complete audio chain.
- Check YouTube’s stream-health messages and confirm that the encoder is sending the intended video and audio.
- Start the broadcast only after the rehearsal is stable and the rights checks are complete.
- Keep monitoring the encoder and YouTube stream health. Decide in advance who will notice a failure and who can restart or repair the broadcast.
OBS notes that increasing dropped frames can indicate an unstable network connection or a bitrate the connection cannot sustain. If frames are dropping, reduce the bitrate or video demands, check the upload connection, and verify that the encoder has recovered. See OBS’s dropped-frames guidance.
Decide whether to archive the broadcast
Choose separately whether you want an archive. The guidance cited here does not establish how long a very long broadcast can be archived in full, the maximum duration of one live event, or exactly how YouTube reconnects after an outage. Check the current YouTube Studio workflow before relying on a single event to run indefinitely, and do not promise viewers uninterrupted playback unless your setup has a tested recovery plan.
