You can broadcast recorded classical music on YouTube around the clock by sending a prerecorded playlist through an encoder or a cloud streaming service. Before you build the stream, clear the rights to both the recordings and the underlying compositions: having a YouTube stream key—or a license for only one layer—does not necessarily authorize the broadcast. For a do-it-yourself setup, verify your channel, configure an encoder in YouTube Studio, and plan how playback, power, internet, monitoring, and recovery will work continuously.
1. Clear the rights to every recording before you stream
Make an inventory of every track you plan to play. For each one, identify who controls the sound recording and who controls the underlying musical and literary work. Confirm that your permissions cover a continuous YouTube live stream in the territories where it will be available, and whether they also cover any archived copy you intend to retain. YouTube’s livestream terms put responsibility on the content provider to have the necessary rights for use of live content, including music licensing rights.

In India, IPRS describes licensing for musical and literary works within its repertoire, while PPL India describes permissions for recorded music within its repertoire, including digital use such as online streaming. These organizations do not necessarily control every composition or recording in your playlist, and a permission from one does not establish that all other rights are covered. Check the repertoire and rights for each track with the relevant rightsholders; consider India-specific legal advice if the licensing position is unclear.

It is a platform enforcement measure, not a replacement for permission.
#1 Best Overall
Do not rely on YouTube Creator Music for this broadcast: YouTube’s stated terms limit its tracks to long-form videos, not live streams or Shorts. Its availability is described as limited to US creators in the YouTube Partner Program, with expansion beyond the US pending.
2. Make sure your channel can go live
- Verify the YouTube channel.
- Check that it has not had a live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days.
- Use an encoder as the route for sending the prerecorded playback to YouTube.
These are YouTube’s stated live-stream eligibility conditions; channel verification alone does not clear copyright or guarantee that a broadcast will remain online.

3. Prepare the playlist and the continuous-playback setup
Choose a playback-and-encoding arrangement that can supply the stream continuously. A local setup needs a computer capable of running the chosen playback software and encoder for the intended workload. A hosted setup moves playback and encoding off the home computer. In either case, plan for what happens if playback stops, the encoder exits, power fails, or the internet connection drops: decide how you will notice the problem and restart or recover the feed.

There is no minimum computer specification established here. Likewise, no universal bitrate, resolution, codec, audio setting, or keyframe interval can be prescribed for every encoder and source. Use the current requirements and recommendations shown for your selected encoder and YouTube’s current Live Control Room workflow; match the output to the media and connection you can reliably sustain, then test it before depending on the stream. Do not copy a setting from another channel without checking that it applies to your encoder and stream.

Prepare a playlist using only tracks for which you have the appropriate permissions. Confirm the intended playback order, transitions, volume consistency, and behavior at the end of the list. A repeatable playlist helps avoid gaps, but it does not itself provide stream recovery or resolve rights issues.
4. Create the stream in YouTube Studio and connect the encoder
- Open the Live Control Room: in YouTube Studio, create or schedule a stream using the encoder workflow.
- Copy the connection details: copy the stream server URL and stream key shown for that stream. Treat the key as a password; do not publish it or send it to anyone who should not be able to broadcast to your channel.
- Configure the encoder: select the prepared playlist as its media source, enter YouTube’s server URL and stream key, and set output options according to the encoder’s current guidance and the quality you tested.
- Start sending the feed: start playback and the encoder, then check the Live Control Room preview and the public watch page before considering the setup ready.
- Monitor the complete chain: check playback, audio and video quality, the encoder, internet access, and the YouTube preview. Test the recovery procedure rather than assuming that a reconnect will happen automatically.
YouTube supports software encoding programs as well as professional-grade hardware encoders and recommends testing and monitoring. The exact controls differ by encoder; no particular product or computer model is established as tested for this use.

5. Plan for stream length, archives, and interruptions
YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Its cited encoder guidance does not make the same promise for a single stream lasting longer than 12 hours. If you need a dependable archive, do not assume an uninterrupted 24/7 broadcast will produce one. Design an archive plan around the documented under-12-hour behavior, and verify YouTube’s current behavior before relying on longer streams or a particular restart schedule.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsContinuous operation also depends on the whole playback-to-YouTube chain, not just the stream key. Test what viewers see after a temporary network loss, encoder restart, or source-file problem. Check the preview, the watch page, and any archive you expect to keep. YouTube recommends testing in advance, checking the stream preview, monitoring quality, and checking archive integrity and access.
6. Troubleshoot common failures
| Symptom | Likely area to check | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| You cannot start a live stream | Channel verification or a live-streaming restriction | Confirm verification and whether the channel has a restriction within the previous 90 days. |
| YouTube does not receive the encoder feed | Stream URL, stream key, encoder settings, or outgoing connection | Recheck the server URL and key in the Live Control Room and encoder; confirm the encoder is actively sending and review its status and YouTube preview. |
| The stream shows a copyright warning, placeholder, or stops | Third-party content detection or channel allowlisting | Review the affected recording and its permissions, contact the relevant rights holder, and ask whether the channel needs to be allowlisted. Do not assume a license alone prevents automated interruption. |
| Playback stops or the stream goes offline unexpectedly | Playlist player, encoder, computer or host, power, or internet connection | Identify which part of the chain stopped, restore it, and test the recovery procedure. Add monitoring so an interruption is noticed rather than left unattended. |
| You cannot find an expected archive | Stream duration or archive processing | Check the watch page and archive status. Automatic archiving is stated for streams under 12 hours; do not assume it for longer streams. |
7. Or let it run in the cloud
StreamNeo is a cloud service for keeping a YouTube channel live from uploaded videos: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. It plays uploaded video rather than broadcasting from a camera, so your computer and home connection do not have to stay on. It can automatically recover if YouTube drops the stream.
- One flat price per slot for any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps, with no re-encode or quality tiers.
- Each slot includes one always-on stream, 10 GB of storage per slot pooled across active slots, 24/7 looping and playlists, automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream, and support from the StreamNeo team.
- The first day is free with no card; one free day per account. Billing options are a day, a week, a month, 6 months, or a year, and you can cancel any time. UPI and cards are supported in India; card checkout is available worldwide.
Monthly: $9.99 per month. StreamNeo does not grant music rights: clear the recordings and compositions before uploading them. To try it, start your free first day on StreamNeo.
