You can run an Assamese folk instrumental stream on YouTube around the clock by preparing a rights-cleared playlist, enabling live access on your channel, and sending a continuous audio-and-video feed through an encoder. The two biggest risks are rights problems—which can interrupt a live stream even when you have a license—and operational failures such as a lost connection, power outage, or encoder stop. Plan for both before going live.
Start with music rights, not streaming software
Traditional or folk status by itself does not establish that a particular song, arrangement, performance, or recording is free to stream. A modern arrangement can have separate rights from the underlying composition, and a recording can have an owner distinct from the performers or publisher.

Clear every track for the uses you intend
For each item in the playlist, identify the underlying composition or song, any arrangement, the performers, and the owner of the sound recording. Obtain written permission that covers YouTube live use, the territories where the stream will be available, how long you may use the material, and whether you may retain an archive. Keep the permissions with a matching track list so you can identify the material quickly if a question arises.

YouTube’s Live Stream Terms and Conditions say: “You represent and warrant that you have all necessary rights for the exploitation of the Live Content on the Google Services throughout the world, including, without limitation, music licensing rights from artists, record labels, publishers (including public performance licences) and any other royalty participants.” Permission for one use or territory should not be assumed to cover every use of a worldwide live stream.

Ask about Content ID before launch
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content matches. A match can cause the stream to be interrupted or terminated, even if you have permission to use the music. Ask the rights owner or distributor whether they can add your channel to their Content ID allowlist, and keep a contact path for resolving a match. A claim-free test is not proof that you have the necessary rights or that a later live broadcast will pass uninterrupted.
Do not assume a 24/7 archive will be available
India’s Copyright Act defines communication to the public to include making a work available for public enjoyment at times chosen by viewers. Treat a public live stream and any on-demand archive as uses that need an appropriate rights review. That definition does not determine the rights status of a particular Assamese song, arrangement, or recording. YouTube may archive live content, but archive handling for a 24/7 broadcast is not established for every account and situation; do not promise viewers a complete recording.

The Assam Directorate of Archives, for example, says site material may be reproduced after permission and that permission does not extend to material identified as third-party copyright. That is a reminder to assess each work and its owner separately, not a blanket licensing rule for Assamese music.
Check that your channel can livestream
YouTube’s current Help guidance states that the channel must be verified, must not have had a live-stream restriction in the previous 90 days, and the person streaming must be at least 16. YouTube for Artists recommends enabling a first stream at least 24 hours ahead of its planned start. Complete the eligibility and enablement steps in YouTube Studio before scheduling your launch, and leave time for the first-stream setup to take effect.

Prepare the Assamese folk instrumental program
Choose and document the format
Decide whether the stream will use original performances, a scheduled playlist of licensed recordings, or a mix. Arrange the running order, identify every track in the same order, and keep the corresponding permissions accessible. For original sessions, record and edit the audio and any accompanying visuals before connecting the encoder.
An Assam Bihu Dhol is one relevant instrument for an original Bihu performance, but it is optional, not streaming hardware. Using an instrument associated with a tradition does not grant permission to use somebody else’s composition or recording. If buying one, check the seller and authenticity; the product is not a requirement for this setup.

Build a continuous audio-and-video feed
An encoder-based workflow fits a prepared music program with audio and visuals. YouTube describes encoder streaming as suitable for overlays and external audio/video equipment and commonly used for concerts and conferences. Your feed may pair the music with a title card, artwork you have rights to use, or other visuals; ensure every visual element is cleared too.
The reviewed official guidance does not establish one required encoder product, minimum computer specification, or universal bitrate for this particular stream. Use the settings YouTube Studio provides for your stream and the compatible settings documented by your chosen encoder. Do not copy a bitrate, resolution, frame rate, or keyframe interval from an unrelated guide without checking that it applies to your encoder, source, and current YouTube recommendations.

Set up and start the encoder stream
- Open YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room. Choose the encoder-based setup for the prepared program. Review the stream details YouTube provides for the broadcast.
- Connect the encoder to the stream. Enter the stream details from Studio in the encoder, then configure the prepared audio/video source and the encoder’s output settings. Treat the stream key and related connection details as credentials: do not publish them or include them in a recording or screenshot.
- Check the preview before going public. Confirm that the intended visuals appear, the audio is audible and not distorted, the playlist advances as expected, and the title and other metadata identify the stream accurately. Wait for Studio’s preview and status information before starting the public broadcast.
- Start the broadcast and verify the result. Confirm that the live picture and sound are reaching YouTube and that Studio reports the stream as live. Keep the encoder and Studio available for monitoring rather than assuming that a successful start means the stream will run indefinitely.
Keep the stream running and recover from interruptions
A 24/7 broadcast depends on every part of the chain: the program source, encoder, computer, power, internet connection, and YouTube’s ingest and live systems. Monitor the picture and sound, network, power, encoder, and Studio status. Arrange a way to restart the program and have rights-owner contact information ready in case a match appears.
If the stream stops or YouTube flags music
- The encoder disconnects or the stream goes offline: Check power, internet access, the program source, and encoder status. Restore the source and connection, then confirm the preview and live status in Studio.
- Studio shows a copyright warning or interruption: Check the issue identified in Studio. Stop or replace the flagged material and resolve the listed issue; contact the rights owner if you believe the use is authorized. A license alone does not ensure that Content ID will leave the live stream uninterrupted.
- The picture or audio is wrong: Check the selected source and encoder output, then inspect the Studio preview before resuming. Verify levels and continuity with a test before returning to a public broadcast.
- The stream will not start: Recheck channel eligibility, the stream details entered in the encoder, and the connection status shown in Studio. If this is the channel’s first livestream, allow for the enablement lead time recommended by YouTube for Artists.
YouTube does not promise uninterrupted 24/7 delivery. Plan for outages and avoid telling viewers that the stream or its archive is guaranteed to be continuous.
