Define the listening use case first: for example, Indian classical music for focused listening, devotional music with rights cleared, instrumental study music, or a label’s own catalog. Assemble the tracks into a coherent playlist and choose a visual layer you are permitted to use, such as cover art, a subtle loop, or a visualizer. The appropriate playlist duration depends on your catalog, rights, and audience; there is no established universally optimal length.

Clear rights for every track before launch
Do not assume that owning a recording or having permission for one part of a song clears all of it. The Copyright Office of India treats musical works and sound recordings as separate categories; a recording may involve multiple rights holders, including the authors and the sound recording producer. See the Copyright Act, 1957, Chapter I and the Copyright Office’s Hand Book of Copyright Law.

- Livestreaming on YouTube, not just downloads, on-demand uploads, or background use.
- The territories where viewers may watch.
- Monetization, if you intend to enable it.
- The specific composition, lyrics, and sound recording in your playlist.
- Any channel-specific process needed to avoid automated interruptions.
YouTube says live streams are scanned for third-party content. It also advises creators using licensed content to ask the rights owner to add the channel to its Content ID allowlist; a license alone may not prevent a live interruption if the channel has not been allowlisted. Read YouTube Help: Copyright issues with live streams and confirm the allowlisting process with the rights owner before relying on a continuous broadcast.

Set up the 24/7 stream in Gyre
- Prepare your video files and artwork. Check that each file contains the intended audio and visual, and that you have rights to both. Keep an inventory of the tracks and permissions so you can respond to a claim or replace a file if necessary.
- Upload the files to Gyre. Gyre’s documented workflow starts with uploading media. Review any file report or conversion information the service provides and resolve errors before scheduling.
- Create and order a playlist. Add the intended tracks, check the sequence and transitions, and verify that the playlist contains only cleared material. Do not treat a particular number of hours as a guaranteed performance target.
- Connect the YouTube channel. Gyre’s newer workflow describes authorizing a channel through the YouTube API instead of manually copying a stream key. Its guide also says manual stream-key setup remains available. Follow the current Gyre interface and review the permissions shown during authorization. If using a key, copy it only into the intended Gyre stream configuration and do not share it publicly.
- Set stream details and schedule or launch. Enter the stream’s title, description, visibility, playlist, and any other available settings. Gyre documents both launching and scheduling a broadcast. Choose public visibility only when the rights and test checks are complete.
- Run an unlisted test. YouTube for Artists recommends testing an unlisted stream before a high-investment event. Check the audio, visual, stream status, and any copyright notices in YouTube Studio before making the broadcast public.
Gyre says its converter checks files and can optimize them. The available evidence does not establish a single bitrate or resolution that is right for every music stream, so use the current YouTube and Gyre guidance for your chosen settings rather than assuming one preset is universal. Once the stream is live, check YouTube Studio for stream status and copyright notices. A rights claim or interruption should be treated as a rights and configuration issue first, not simply as a technical glitch.

- A track triggers a copyright notice: Pause or remove the affected material as appropriate, review the claim, and contact the relevant rights owner. Confirm both the scope of your license and whether your channel must be allowlisted.
- The stream fails before going public: Recheck channel verification, live-stream eligibility, authorization, and any restrictions on the account. Confirm that Gyre is connected to the intended channel and stream configuration.
- The stream starts but audio or visuals are wrong: Check the uploaded source files, playlist order, and selected visual in Gyre, then repeat an unlisted test before promotion.
- YouTube reports a stream health problem: Inspect YouTube Studio’s current stream status and resolve the reported issue using the settings and file guidance shown there. Do not rely on an assumed universal bitrate or resolution.
Cloud streaming or a local encoder?
A local encoder such as OBS Studio runs on your own computer. It offers local control, but the machine and internet connection must remain available for the broadcast. A cloud workflow such as Gyre moves the streaming operation to the service after upload and playlist setup, so the creator’s computer need not stay on. Compare current service terms, supported file formats, scheduling, stream count, support, and recurring cost before choosing; Gyre’s features and reliability statements are vendor claims, not independent proof of growth or uptime. Neither approach guarantees more viewers, monetization, watch time, or revenue. Gyre has published one music-channel case study with performance figures, but a single vendor-published case study is not a general forecast for other channels.
