What’s actually slowing this PC down?

You can create a 24/7 Hindi music YouTube channel for NRI audiences, but the first step is not choosing a stream tool: it is confirming that you have the rights to broadcast every track and keep any replay online. YouTube scans live streams for third-party matches, and a license alone may not prevent an interruption if the rights owner has not allowlisted your channel. Permission also does not guarantee monetization: YouTube reviews reused content separately and specifically identifies collections of songs from different artists as content that may not qualify.
Build the channel around a clear audience and original programming, document the rights for both live and archived use, test the stream before launch, and decide how you will preserve public replays. The steps below apply whether your audience is in the diaspora or elsewhere; the available platform data does not establish a specific NRI audience size for Hindi music.

1. Define the channel’s Hindi-music proposition
Start by deciding whom the programming serves and what makes it distinct. “Hindi songs all day” describes a format, not a reason for viewers to choose your channel. A more useful editorial brief could focus on a particular era, region, devotional tradition, mood, independent artists, or a hosted mix with context. Be precise about the audience you intend to serve—such as listeners in particular time zones—without assuming that a 24/7 schedule will automatically reach them.
YouTube for Artists reports that over 30% of daily logged-in YouTube viewers watched live content in Q2 2025. That is a platform-wide live-viewing figure, not a statistic about NRIs, Hindi music, or continuous music channels, so it cannot establish demand for this particular concept.

Choose a rights model before selecting tracks
Plan to use music you own and created, music commissioned under written terms that cover your intended uses, or third-party music licensed for the channel. Buying a song, finding it online, or adding it to a playlist does not by itself give you commercial streaming rights. YouTube says creators need the necessary commercial rights to all audio and visual elements they monetize; its guidance also notes that purchased or online content generally still requires commercial-use rights from its owner: YouTube’s guidance on content that can be monetized.
For every licensed track, keep written records identifying the rights owner and covering the platform, territories, term, live-stream use, archived replay or VOD use, monetization, and required attribution. These are practical points to confirm in the agreement, not a guarantee that YouTube will accept the content for monetization.

2. Clear copyright and live-stream enforcement
YouTube says all live streams are scanned for matches to third-party content. If its systems detect a match, YouTube may replace the broadcast with a placeholder image, issue a warning, interrupt the stream, or terminate it. The platform’s live-stream copyright guidance says that a licensed creator should ask the relevant rights owner to add the channel to its Content ID allowlist. YouTube warns that a stream may still be interrupted even when the content is licensed if the channel is not allowlisted.
What to do for licensed music
- Ask the label, distributor, publisher, or other relevant rights owner to confirm in writing that your agreement covers the planned YouTube live broadcast and any archived replay.
- Ask the rights owner to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist, and confirm which channel identifier or account details it needs.
- Keep the agreement, permissions, attribution requirements, and allowlisting confirmation accessible to the people who operate the channel.
- Coordinate with the label or distributor where applicable. YouTube for Artists recommends that music channels coordinate with them when using copyright-protected music during a live stream.
Allowlisting is an enforcement-readiness measure, not a substitute for permission. Conversely, having permission does not establish that the channel meets YouTube’s separate monetization rules.

Do not confuse copyright permission with monetization eligibility
YouTube’s channel monetization policies explain that reused-content review is separate from copyright enforcement and is not based on permission or fair use. The policy gives collections of songs from different artists as an example of content that may not be allowed to monetize under the reused-content guideline, even when the uploader has permission. YouTube reviews the channel as a whole and may consider its main theme, most-viewed and newest videos, watch-time share, metadata, and About section. Mass-produced or repetitive material and minimally changed third-party content can also fail review.
Make your contribution visible rather than relying on a static image and a playlist. Depending on your actual format, that might mean original performances or compositions, a host who explains selections, interviews, artist participation, contextual programming, or meaningful visual storytelling. These are ways to make the channel’s editorial work clearer, not guaranteed policy safe harbors; YouTube decides eligibility.

3. Prepare and test the first broadcast
YouTube for Artists advises verifying the account and enabling the first livestream at least 24 hours before going live. It also recommends an unlisted test stream before a high-investment event. Use that window to check the end-to-end workflow, including the selected music, stream output, audience-facing title and description, and what happens if the broadcast is interrupted. An encoder can offer more customization and control than a simple mobile or webcam stream, but the guide does not say that a particular encoder is required.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute- Verify and enable live streaming in advance. Complete YouTube’s account verification and livestream setup at least 24 hours before your planned first broadcast, following the current prompts in YouTube Studio.
- Prepare the program and rights records. Match each track in the planned playlist to its permission and live-use documentation. If you intend to keep the replay public, confirm archive rights too.
- Run an unlisted test. Check that the broadcast starts correctly and that the planned content and presentation work as intended. Keep the test unlisted unless you have a reason and rights to make it public.
- Set up the public event deliberately. Use a clear title, description, and schedule that accurately describe the programming. Promote the stream to your existing community, but do not treat promotion as a guarantee of reach or revenue.
- Plan audience interaction and continuity. Live chat can help make the broadcast feel like a community program. Decide who will monitor it and how the channel will respond to a rights warning or an interrupted stream.
YouTube for Artists also encourages music channels to make streams available on demand. For a continuous music broadcast, that decision needs to be balanced with the rights for replay and YouTube’s rules for qualifying watch hours.

4. Decide what happens to the archive
Choose the archive setting based on your rights and channel goals before you launch. A public replay can let viewers catch up, but only retain or publish it if your permissions cover archived use. If your license covers live transmission but not VOD, do not assume that leaving the replay available is permitted.
YouTube’s August 12, 2026 guidance on qualified watch hours and Shorts views for the YouTube Partner Program says public archived livestreams can count as qualified watch hours. Under that guidance, private, unlisted, deleted, and non-archived live streams do not count as qualified watch hours; ad-viewed watch time is also excluded. Check the current eligibility requirements in YouTube Studio for your channel and location, since those factors are not established by the general guidance alone.
5. Keep the broadcast running: production choices
For a 24/7 broadcast, the stream has to keep playing and reconnect if the connection or platform interrupts it. A computer-based setup gives the operator control over playback and production, but the equipment and network used for it must remain available. YouTube for Artists describes an encoder as an option for added customization and control; it does not require a specific product or hardware purchase.

6. Troubleshoot common launch problems
- The broadcast shows a placeholder, warning, or interruption: YouTube may have detected third-party content. Check the specific notice, verify that the track is covered by your agreement, and contact the rights owner about Content ID allowlisting. Do not assume that a license alone prevents enforcement.
- A track is licensed but the live stream is still interrupted: Ask the rights owner or distributor to confirm that the correct channel is on its Content ID allowlist. Confirm that the permission covers live streaming on YouTube and the relevant territory and term.
- You have permission but monetization is unavailable: Review the reused-content policy separately from copyright status. A licensed collection of other artists’ songs may still fail channel-level monetization review if it does not demonstrate sufficient original contribution.
- The replay is unavailable or should not count toward watch hours: Check whether it is public and archived. YouTube’s August 12, 2026 guidance excludes non-archived, unlisted, private, and deleted live streams from qualified watch hours.
- The first stream is not enabled in time: Complete verification and livestream setup earlier; YouTube for Artists recommends doing this at least 24 hours before the first broadcast.
- The program has little identifiable editorial contribution: Revisit the format, not just the playlist. Add authentic original performance, hosting, context, or artist participation where you can do so credibly, and ensure the rights cover those elements too.
