To run a 24/7 ASMR keyboard channel, record keyboard sounds and visuals you own or have permission to use, arrange the videos into a playlist, and send that playback to YouTube Live through an encoder. The playlist can run from a computer you keep online or from a cloud playout service. Neither approach guarantees audience growth or monetization, and YouTube’s copyright and monetization rules still apply to every broadcast.
Plan the channel around original keyboard recordings
Start by deciding what viewers will hear and see, then make recordings that deliver that experience. A recording of typing is not automatically distinctive just because the keyboard is mechanical: the sound, performance, presentation, and your contribution should give each video a clear purpose.

Build a useful recording library
- Record separate sessions. Capture distinct typing patterns or sessions rather than relying on one short clip repeated indefinitely. This is practical editorial guidance, not a claim that one recording technique or switch type is objectively best.
- Keep notes with each file. Label recordings with the keyboard or switch configuration and capture conditions you can accurately identify. That makes it easier to choose clips and describe them without guessing.
- Use visuals you own or are authorized to use. Keep the sound and image rights clear for both the live broadcast and any archive you intend to keep.
- Make a representative sample before committing to a long stream. Listen and watch it as a viewer would. If you plan to feature a particular keyboard, use your own recordings to decide whether its sound fits the channel; there is no established best keyboard, switch, microphone, or recorder for this use case.
Arrange videos with a reason for each
You can use one prepared video or a playlist of recordings. A sequence can vary the sound or visual presentation, but do not treat tiny edits or superficial variation as a substitute for meaningful original work. Name files and playlist entries so you can tell what is playing and replace a clip quickly if needed.

YouTube receives the live video and audio from an encoder. In YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room, create or schedule the stream, then use the stream URL and stream key shown there to connect your playback setup. YouTube documents that stream settings can be reused. Treat the key like a password: do not publish it, and reset it if someone unauthorized obtains it.

Connect the playlist
- Create or schedule the broadcast in YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room.
- Copy the stream URL and stream key from the live setup in YouTube. Enter them in the encoder or cloud playout service you chose. Do not share the key in a video, public post, or screenshot.
- Choose the playlist or prepared video as the encoder’s playback source and configure the service to send it as a live feed. The exact controls differ by encoder; the available evidence does not establish one universal OBS or encoder workflow, or recommended bitrate, resolution, or keyframe settings. Follow the current instructions for the encoder you use and YouTube’s live setup rather than copying settings from an unrelated guide.
- Start the encoder and check the Live Control Room. Confirm that YouTube is receiving the feed and check stream health and policy warnings before leaving the broadcast unattended.
Choose where the continuous playlist runs
The main operational choice is whether playback runs on your own equipment or on a cloud service. Cloud vendors describe workflows involving uploaded media, a selected playlist, and a destination; those are provider descriptions, not independent reliability tests. Compare current pricing, file limits, destination support, account authorization, recovery behavior, monitoring, and how to stop or replace a playlist before choosing a service.

Protect the broadcast from copyright problems
YouTube says all live streams are scanned for matches to third-party content. A match can cause a placeholder to replace the stream, a warning to stop the material, or a temporary interruption or termination. YouTube also says that even when material is licensed, the rights owner may need to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist to prevent interruptions. Its livestream terms place responsibility on the content provider to hold the rights needed to exploit the live content, including applicable music rights.

For an ASMR keyboard channel, the clearest route is to stream your own recordings and visuals. If you use anything made by someone else, get permission that explicitly covers the live broadcast and any archive use you want. Credit, buying a copy, or having a generic license does not by itself establish that those uses are cleared.
Understand archives, long streams, and DVR
YouTube Help’s archive guidance, accessed in 2026, says streams shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived, while streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all. If a durable on-demand version matters, preserve a local recording rather than treating YouTube’s archive as your only copy. DVR rewind may also be limited or unavailable on very long streams.

This creates two separate goals: keeping a live viewing experience available and preserving a complete recording for later. A single continuous broadcast may serve the first goal without reliably serving the second.

YouTube’s channel monetization policy applies to live streams and expects original, authentic content rather than mass-produced, generic, or repetitive work. Reused-content review is separate from copyright: having permission to use material does not necessarily make a channel eligible for monetization. Make your creative contribution clear, give recordings meaningful distinctions, and understand that YouTube makes the eligibility decision during channel review. The policy page notes a July 15, 2025 wording update that renamed “repetitious content” as “inauthentic content.”
Monitor the stream and handle common failures
Check YouTube’s Live Control Room for stream health and policy warnings, and keep master files and backups. A continuous broadcast is a system with several dependencies; identify which part stopped before changing settings or replacing media.

Final checks before leaving a channel live
- Every video and visual is yours or cleared for live and archive use.
- The playlist has been watched and its entries are labeled well enough to manage.
- The correct YouTube stream URL and protected key are configured.
- The Live Control Room shows a healthy incoming feed and no unresolved policy warning.
- You have decided whether an archive is needed and made a local recording plan if it is.
- Your channel’s content is meaningfully original; you are not assuming continuous playback guarantees monetization.
