If a Telangana land record shows the wrong pattadar name, an incorrect extent (area), or a missing survey or sub-division number, submit a correction through the current Bhu Bharati portal. The route is ROR Corrections → Application for Passbook Data Correction. Choose Change of name for name errors, Extent Correction for an area discrepancy, or Missing Survey number/Sub division Number when the survey reference is absent from the record. Aadhaar authentication or eKYC, supporting documents and payment are part of the process, and the request moves to the Tahsildar or the relevant revenue authority for action.
People still commonly say “Bhudhar card” or “Dharani passbook.” Telangana’s current official system is branded Bhu Bharati; the correction instructions below use the labels shown in that system.

The official material specifically describes the missing-survey service when the number or sub-division is absent. It does not establish a separate universal option for a survey number that is present but demonstrably wrong. If the displayed number is incorrect rather than missing, read the current choices in the portal and contact the Bhu Bharati help desk or the Tahsildar before filing; choosing the missing-number module for a different problem can delay the request.

What you should gather before opening the application
Preparation prevents a correction request from stopping at authentication or document scrutiny. The exact upload list is form-dependent, so treat the items below as a preparation checklist rather than a guaranteed document schedule.
- The current passbook or pattadar record showing the disputed name, extent or survey reference.
- Registered deeds, mutation or revenue records, orders, maps or other official papers that establish the entry you want recorded.
- Your Aadhaar details and access to the authentication method offered by the portal, including an OTP when that option appears.
- A current communication address and a working mobile number for the application and authentication steps.
- Clear, readable scans or photographs of each document requested by the selected form.
- Payment capability for the amount displayed by Bhu Bharati for that service. The official material does not publish one fixed fee for every correction.
Do not upload a document merely because it is available. Each file should support the particular correction: identity and name evidence for a name change, land records supporting the measured extent for an extent request, and documents that connect the holding to the omitted survey or sub-division for a missing-reference request.

The following sequence follows the Bhu Bharati correction workflow. Button wording can change as the portal is updated, so use the matching label shown on the live screen.

- Open ROR Corrections. Choose Application for Passbook Data Correction. This is the correction route for the land-record details covered here.
- Start a new request. Select New Request, then choose Change of name, Extent Correction or Missing Survey number/Sub division Number according to the error.
- Find the pattadar record. The user manual demonstrates searching with a passbook number. The portal may show additional search choices; use the identifier that matches your record and verify the fetched details before continuing.
- Authenticate the applicant. Enter and validate the Aadhaar number using the available method. If the screen offers OTP authentication, complete it with the mobile number linked to Aadhaar or the method requested by the portal.
- Enter the communication address. Check spelling and postal details before moving on, because this information is part of the request record.
- Describe and substantiate the correction. Enter the requested value or missing reference exactly as supported by your documents. Upload every document the form asks for, keeping the files legible and within the displayed size and format limits.
- Review the complete application. Compare the name letter by letter, check every digit in the survey and sub-division fields, and verify the area units and decimal places. A wrong digit in a correction request can create a second problem.
- Submit and save the application number. Download or print the acknowledgement if offered. Record the application number separately from your login details.
- Pay the displayed charge. Payment can be completed through Bhu Bharati or at MeeSeva. The portal shows the amount payable for the selected service; there is no single published fee that applies to every case.
- Complete eKYC. Finish eKYC in Bhu Bharati or at MeeSeva. The manual states that, after payment and eKYC, the application moves to the Tahsildar for further action.
How to correct a wrong name
Use the Change of name option
For a spelling error, an incorrect surname, or a complete name change, select Change of name inside the passbook-data correction application. The Government of Telangana FAQ states: “Pattadar shall apply in Modification Request Application module under Change of name option for Spelling correction in name including Surname and Complete Name Change etc.”

Enter the corrected name exactly as it appears in the strongest supporting record you are submitting. Check initials, spacing, surname order and transliteration if the form displays the name in more than one script. Upload the existing passbook and the documents requested by the form that establish the corrected identity. The live application, rather than a general checklist, controls which evidence is mandatory for your case.
If the name change is substantial
A complete name change is included in the FAQ’s description of this option, but the evidence needed can differ from a simple typographical correction. Follow the form’s document prompts and be prepared to show the legal or registered record connecting the old entry with the requested name. Do not assume that an Aadhaar validation alone proves every type of name change; Aadhaar is an authentication step, while the revenue record still has to be supported and reviewed.
How to correct a wrong area or extent
Select Extent Correction
An area discrepancy belongs under Extent Correction. Enter the extent in the units and precision requested by the form, and use the land documents that show why the current entry is wrong. Recheck decimal points, unit conversions and the relationship between the total holding and any sub-divisions before submission.
Expect verification
The official FAQ is explicit: “The extent will be corrected after verification.” Submission does not immediately rewrite the record. The department may compare the request with registered instruments, revenue records or other evidence before approving an amended extent. Keep originals available in case the reviewing office asks for clarification or inspection.

How to add a missing survey or sub-division number
Use the Missing Survey number/Sub division Number service
Select this module when the current record omits the survey number or sub-division number that should identify the land. This is different from a request to alter a number that is already present but disputed.
When you do not have a khata number
The manual says that a user without a khata number can select No, choose the district, mandal and village, fetch the available record, add the missing survey details, upload the requested documents and submit. Follow the geographical selections carefully: choosing the wrong district, mandal or village can return the wrong record or no record at all.
When the displayed number is wrong, not missing
The reviewed official instructions do not name a single dedicated “wrong survey number” service. Do not label a populated field as missing just to force the application through. First check the current ROR-correction choices and ask the help desk or the Tahsildar which module accepts an existing-but-incorrect survey reference. Keep the document that shows the correct number and the passbook page showing the disputed number together for that conversation.

Payment and identity verification are separate completion steps. The portal displays the charge for the service you selected; the official material reviewed here does not promise a universal fixed fee. You may pay in Bhu Bharati or use MeeSeva as an assisted channel. eKYC can likewise be completed in Bhu Bharati or at MeeSeva.

After submission and eKYC, the manual says the application moves to the Tahsildar for further action. An extent request requires verification before the extent can be corrected. The official sources do not publish one processing-time service-level agreement for all name, extent and missing-survey requests, so do not rely on an unofficial number of days.
What to save after submission
Create a small case file—digital and, if possible, paper—for every request:
- Application number and submission acknowledgement.
- Payment receipt or e-Challan.
- Copies of every uploaded document in the same version you submitted.
- A screenshot or printout of the submitted values, especially the corrected name, extent and survey fields.
- Dates of payment, eKYC and any communication from the department or MeeSeva.
These records let you identify the request quickly if a document is rejected, an acknowledgement does not appear, or the office asks you to clarify the evidence.

The record cannot be found
- Check the passbook number digit by digit and retry.
- If you are using the missing-survey workflow without a khata number, confirm the district, mandal and village selections before fetching the record.
- Make sure you are searching the current Bhu Bharati record rather than relying on an old Dharani or Bhudhar printout alone.
Aadhaar OTP or eKYC fails
- Check that the Aadhaar number was entered correctly and that the authentication method shown by the portal is available to you.
- Retry only after confirming the mobile or identity details requested on screen.
- If online eKYC remains unavailable, use the MeeSeva channel described by the official workflow and keep the transaction acknowledgement.
An upload is rejected
- Re-read the form’s file type, size and legibility requirements.
- Scan the complete page, including seals, signatures and registration details.
- Rename files clearly and upload the document to the field that describes it; do not substitute an unrelated file.
You submitted the wrong correction type
Do not create multiple overlapping requests merely to try different menus. Save the first application number, note the error and ask Bhu Bharati support or the Tahsildar’s office how to correct or withdraw it. Duplicate requests can make it harder to identify which evidence should be acted on.

Payment succeeded but the application is not complete
Keep the payment receipt or e-Challan and check whether eKYC is still pending. The manual treats payment and eKYC as steps in the workflow; a payment confirmation by itself is not proof that the request has reached the Tahsildar.
How to follow up through official channels
The Bhu Bharati home page lists +91 40-29313999 for assistance or inquiries and shows support hours of 10 AM–5 PM. When you call or visit MeeSeva, have the application number, payment receipt, eKYC status and document copies ready. Describe the correction type using the portal’s exact label—Change of name, Extent Correction or Missing Survey number/Sub division Number—so the operator can locate the relevant workflow.
MeeSeva is an official assisted channel for payment and eKYC. It does not remove the need to select the correct Bhu Bharati service or provide documents that establish the requested entry.

- Is the issue really a name, extent, or missing survey/sub-division problem?
- Does the service label on screen match that issue?
- Did you compare every character and digit with the supporting document?
- Are the uploaded pages readable and complete?
- Did Aadhaar authentication or the available OTP step succeed?
- Did you record the application number and acknowledgement?
- Did you complete payment and eKYC, not just one of them?
A carefully matched service request is the safest route: Change of name for name corrections, Extent Correction for area discrepancies subject to verification, and Missing Survey number/Sub division Number when the survey reference is absent. Existing-but-wrong survey numbers require clarification from the current portal or revenue authority because the reviewed official guidance does not define a universal separate option.
