To copy and paste on a Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, select the content, tap Copy, then touch and hold the destination field and tap Paste. To reuse something copied earlier, open Samsung Keyboard’s clipboard panel and choose the saved item.
How do you copy and paste on the S23 Ultra?
- In the app, touch and hold the text or supported content you want to copy. If selection handles appear, drag them to cover the intended range.
- Tap Copy in the selection menu. Choose Cut instead only if you want to remove the selection from its current location.
- Tap the destination text field, touch and hold it, then tap Paste when the option appears.
Copy happens at the source; paste happens in the destination field. The selection menu and available content options can vary by app and software version.

How do you paste something copied earlier?
Earlier copied items are accessed through Samsung Keyboard’s clipboard when that keyboard is active. Tap a text field to bring up the keyboard, then tap the clipboard icon in its toolbar and select the item you want to insert.
If you do not see the clipboard icon, check the toolbar’s overflow menu. The toolbar may also need to be enabled in keyboard settings. Samsung’s instructions note that screen presentation can differ by device and One UI version. If you use a keyboard other than Samsung Keyboard, clipboard access depends on that keyboard’s provider; Samsung recommends checking the provider’s guidance.

Can you pin or delete clipboard items?
Samsung Keyboard’s clipboard panel can display recently copied text or images. Depending on the software layout, you may be able to open it from the keyboard toolbar or from a text-field menu. Select an item in the panel to insert it. The panel also provides options to pin items for repeated use or delete selected entries.
Clipboard history should not be treated as permanent storage: what appears and how much history is available can depend on the software version. Samsung Korea Support lists these historical capacities by One UI version in its clipboard-history guidance:

These are version-specific figures in a regional support article, published June 11, 2025; they do not establish a universal current limit for every Galaxy S23 Ultra configuration.

Samsung supports clipboard sharing between Galaxy devices when both devices meet the setup requirements. Samsung’s support article introduces the feature with the line, “One UI lets you do exactly that.” Follow Samsung’s guide to sharing the clipboard across Galaxy devices, and check that both devices:

- Are signed in to the same Samsung account.
- Are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
- Have Bluetooth enabled.
- Have Continue on other devices enabled under Settings → Connected devices.
- Run One UI 3.1 or later.
Once set up, copy on one device, then open a pasteable field on the other and use its paste menu or clipboard. Samsung gives Notes and Messages as examples. This is a supported Galaxy-device feature, not a general promise that Android clipboards sync across devices.
When is Multi Control relevant?
Multi Control is a separate option for the specific phone-and-computer workflow Samsung documents: copying text on a Galaxy S23 Ultra and pasting it on a Galaxy Book3 Ultra. It is not needed for ordinary copy and paste on the phone or for the basic Galaxy-to-Galaxy clipboard workflow. See Samsung’s Multi Control guidance for that setup.

Why might the steps look different?
Samsung warns that clipboard instructions and screen presentation can vary by device and One UI version. The clipboard button may be tucked into the toolbar overflow, and the toolbar setting may need to be enabled. The official Galaxy S23 Ultra support page identifies the model family, but menu layouts are not established as identical across every software build. If you cannot find a control shown in a guide, check your keyboard provider’s instructions and the current settings on your device.
