To convert HTML to JPG on Windows 10, open the HTML in a browser and capture the rendered page as an image. Windows 10 has no official one-click HTML-to-JPEG converter in Microsoft Edge. For a visible page, the built-in Snipping Tool is simplest; Print Screen plus Paint provides cropping; long pages require a scrolling-capture extension or an automated screenshot service.
What “HTML to JPG” actually means
HTML is a markup document. A JPG is a compressed raster image. Conversion therefore means rendering the HTML with a browser engine, then recording the pixels that appear on screen (or in an automated browser) and encoding those pixels as JPEG.
Saving page.html as page.jpg does not perform that conversion. Changing a filename extension only changes the name displayed by Windows; it does not change the file format. Keep the original HTML and create a separate image file.
Method 1: Use Snipping Tool (best built-in option for a visible page)
Snipping Tool is appropriate when the required JPG is a browser window, a section of the page, or the page as currently visible. It captures the displayed viewport rather than automatically scrolling through a tall document.

- Open the HTML file in Microsoft Edge, Chrome, or another browser. For a local file, press
Ctrl + O, select the.htmlfile, and open it. - Wait for images, web fonts, videos, and JavaScript-generated content to finish loading. If the page changes after capture, the JPG will record the state present at the instant of the snip.
- Set the browser window size and zoom (for example, 100%) and choose the viewport width you want. Responsive layouts can change substantially at different widths.
- Press Windows + Shift + S. Windows 10 displays the Snipping Tool capture bar.
- Choose a mode: Rectangle for a selected area, Window for the browser window, Full-screen for every monitor, or Freeform for an irregular shape.
- Select the rendered page or window. The capture is copied to the clipboard and a notification opens the snip.
- Open the notification, choose Save Snip, select a folder, and choose JPG/JPEG in the file-type menu. You can also press
Ctrl + Sin the Snipping Tool editor.
Use Rectangle mode when browser tabs, bookmarks, or other applications must not appear. Window mode is quicker but may include the browser frame. Full-screen mode can include taskbars and multiple displays.
Method 2: Capture with Print Screen and save as JPG in Paint
This route is useful when you want to crop or annotate the capture before exporting it.
- Render the HTML in your browser and position the page.
- Press PrtScn to copy the entire screen, or press Alt + PrtScn to copy only the active browser window.
- Open Microsoft Paint from the Start menu and press
Ctrl + V. - Use Paint’s Select and Crop controls to remove browser chrome or surrounding desktop content.
- Choose File > Save as, select JPEG picture, enter a filename, and save.
JPEG uses lossy compression. For text-heavy pages, keep the original PNG capture as a lossless master and export a JPG only when a smaller or specifically required format is needed.
How to save an entire, scrolling HTML page as JPG
Snipping Tool and Print Screen capture what is visible; the Windows 10 instructions for these tools do not document automatic scrolling capture. A page taller than the viewport must therefore be captured with a tool that explicitly supports full-page screenshots.

Use an Edge extension
The Microsoft Edge Add-ons listing for PageSaver advertises “Save webpage as image (PNG, JPG, GIF, ICO)” and screenshots of an entire webpage, including scrollable content. Install it only after checking its current permissions, privacy policy, pricing, and support. Extension availability and capabilities can change.
- Install the extension from the official Edge Add-ons listing.
- Open the HTML page and wait until its content has loaded.
- Use the extension’s full-page or scrolling capture command.
- Select JPG as the output format if offered, then save the resulting file.
For pages with lazy-loaded images, scroll through the document once before capturing if the extension does not force those images to load. Check the final image for sticky headers repeated at every segment, missing fonts, animations caught mid-frame, or content hidden behind consent dialogs.
Print preview: useful for layout, not direct JPG conversion
In Edge, press Ctrl + P or open Settings and more > Print. In More settings, enable Background graphics when the print preview omits colored backgrounds or background images. Print preview may reflow the page to paper dimensions, remove interactive elements, and paginate content. It creates a print/PDF workflow; it does not itself produce a JPG. To obtain JPG, capture the preview with Snipping Tool or convert a resulting PDF with a separate image-conversion step.

Get a cleaner, repeatable capture
- Dismiss cookie and newsletter dialogs before a manual capture.
- Wait for network activity, fonts, images, and client-side components to settle.
- Choose the final viewport width before capturing responsive HTML.
- Disable browser zoom surprises by checking the zoom menu.
- For a local file that loads external assets, confirm that the assets are reachable and that browser security rules are not blocking them.
- Use PNG as an intermediate when small text or line art must remain sharp; export JPG at a suitable quality only at the end.

Troubleshooting
The JPG is blank or partly rendered
Wait longer for JavaScript, fonts, and images. For manual captures, reload and confirm the page is no longer changing. For automated captures, use a selector, delay, or network-idle wait; check whether the URL requires authentication or blocks automated browsers.

Background colors or images are missing
For Edge print preview, enable More settings > Background graphics. A screen capture should include what is visibly rendered; if it does not, check the page’s CSS, browser zoom, and whether the background is applied outside the selected region.
The full-page image cuts off content
A normal Snipping Tool snip cannot scroll. Use a full-page extension or an API with full-page capture. Ensure lazy-loaded sections have been triggered and inspect the output for fixed-position elements.

Text looks soft or unreadable
Capture at a larger viewport or retina scale, avoid excessive browser zoom changes, and retain a PNG master. JPEG compression and repeated resaving reduce sharpness.
Only part of the browser was captured
Use Window mode for the entire active browser window, Full-screen for the complete display, or Rectangle mode with a carefully drawn selection. Close overlays before selecting the area.
