If you can’t sign in to Amazon, start with Amazon’s official “Why Can’t I Sign into My Account?” page and follow the route for the sign-in method that is failing. If recovery does not restore access, go to Amazon’s Customer Service Home Page for available help. Amazon describes chat and phone support, but does not guarantee that every account-specific option is available while you’re signed out.
First, identify what is stopping sign-in
Amazon sign-in may use a password, a one-time code sent to your registered email address or mobile number, or a passkey. Use the email address or phone number registered to the account; if you enter a phone number, include its country code. Check the password’s capitalization if you use one. Amazon’s sign-in help gives steps for these different methods.

Password sign-in fails
If the account email address or phone number is correct but the password still does not work, use Amazon’s password-reset option from its sign-in flow. Avoid third-party account-recovery services.

Use the sign-in screen to request another code. Amazon’s help page says the flow may also offer delivery through WhatsApp linked to the phone number registered to the account. Available delivery choices depend on the account and the screen presented to you.

Two-step verification is blocking access
Try a trusted device or another registered backup method first. If neither works, use Amazon’s dedicated Two-Step Verification Account Recovery process. Amazon directs you to enter your account identifier and password, or use the available passkey or code option, choose “Didn’t Receive the Code,” select “Two-Step Verification Account Recovery,” and follow the identity-verification instructions.
Amazon says it cannot change two-step verification settings until it has verified your identity: “To protect your account, we’re unable to make changes to your Two-Step Verification settings until your identity is successfully verified.”

How to reach Amazon Customer Service while signed out
Open Amazon’s Customer Service Home Page and choose the help topic that matches your problem. Amazon describes customer-service contact by online chat or phone and says its associates are available 24/7. It recommends signing in for a more personalized support experience, but the cited guidance does not establish that every chat, phone, or account-specific support option will be available without signing in or completing verification.

Choose the right Amazon support channel
Amazon.com retail orders and Amazon Pay questions have separate support routes. Amazon Pay customer support handles Amazon Pay order questions; Amazon Pay directs customers with questions about Amazon.com orders to Amazon Customer Service.

Amazon advises ending a suspicious call and contacting Customer Service through the Amazon app or website. Its guidance on identifying fake phone calls says a caller should not ask for your Amazon password to unlock your account. Do not use links or phone numbers from unsolicited messages as a substitute for Amazon’s official site or app.
