For mobile, dial 121 for enquiries and requests, or 198 for complaints. Broadband and DTH customers have their own routes. If a complaint stays unresolved, keep your Service Request number and escalate to the Appellate Authority for your circle or service area. This guide covers each route and the order to use them in.
Which Airtel contact route fits your problem
Pick a route using four questions. Which service is affected: mobile, broadband/fixed line, DTH or Payments Bank? Is it an enquiry or a complaint? Are you calling from an Airtel number or another network? Which circle or service area are you in? That last one matters only if you escalate.

121 for enquiries and requests
Dial 121 from your Airtel number. Airtel says reaching an advisor is chargeable at 50 paise per three minutes (Airtel contact page). Use it for plan questions, requests and general help.

198 for complaints
Airtel lists 198 as toll-free for complaints. Its prepaid support page names these complaint and service-request categories:
- Provisioning
- Billing and metering issues
- Tariff-plan allocation
- Account updates
- Roaming
- Deactivation of value-added services
- Termination
If your problem fits one of these, use 198 rather than 121. That also puts it on record as a complaint.

Broadband and fixed line
Airtel’s general contact page lists 121 from a landline. The broadband customer-care page also lists 9810012345. It advises existing customers to call from their registered mobile number and to keep their landline or Airtel Relationship number ready. Where that page directs you to a localised centre, use it.

DTH
Per the DTH customer-care page, dial 121 from an Airtel number or 9810012345 from a non-Airtel number. Existing customers should call from their registered number or have the customer ID ready. The same page lists [email protected] for queries, comments or suggestions.

Do not assume this email works for mobile or broadband. An older 2022 consumer charter mentions [email protected], but the current service pages give more specific routes. Use the address on the page for your service.
Airtel App and messaging
The contact page points users to the Airtel App for help and support. Airtel’s pages do not establish a single WhatsApp number covering every service. Treat any WhatsApp number you find elsewhere as unverified unless the official page for your service lists it.

Escalating an unresolved complaint
- Complain first. Contact the relevant complaint centre and describe the issue. Note the Service Request number Airtel gives you. Its support pages say you need this reference to file an appeal (prepaid, broadband).
- Find your Appellate Authority. If the response is unsatisfactory, use the directory for your area: mobile appellate directory by circle, or the broadband/fixed-line appellate directory by service area. Contacts differ by area, so there is no single national one.
- Watch the deadlines. Airtel’s guidance says to appeal within 90 days of the expiry of the resolution time set by the complaint centre. The broadband page gives appellate hours of Monday to Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. It says a Unique Reference Number is provided within three days and that appeals are resolved within 39 days.
These are Airtel’s published timelines. Confirm them on the live page when you file.

Preparing for a faster resolution
- Call from your registered number, or have your landline, Relationship number or DTH customer ID ready.
- Write down the date, the agent’s details if offered, and the Service Request number.
- Don’t confuse Payments Bank support (1800-23400) with telecom support. They are separate.
