How to connect the XGIMI MoGo 4 to Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth speakers, and streaming devices

The XGIMI MoGo 4 can connect directly to a wireless network, send sound to Bluetooth headphones or a speaker, receive music from a phone in Atmosphere speaker mode, and run streaming services through its built-in Google TV. An external streaming stick is optional: connect one to the projector’s single HDMI input when you need an app that is not available on Google TV or prefer a separate interface. The documented setup paths are remote Settings → Wi‑Fi, All Settings → Remote & Accessories → Pair accessory for Bluetooth audio going out, and Atmosphere speaker mode followed by a Bluetooth search on your phone for audio coming in.

What you need before connecting

Have the MoGo 4, its remote, the Wi‑Fi network name and password, and the device you want to connect. Keep the projector close enough to the access point for initial setup. XGIMI specifies Wi‑Fi 5 dual-band networking on 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz using 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, but does not publish a guaranteed speed or range. Actual performance varies with the router, walls, interference, network traffic, and internet service.

  • For a Bluetooth speaker or headphones, charge the accessory and put it into its own pairing mode.
  • For a streaming stick, have the stick, an HDMI cable if its design requires one, and its recommended power adapter available.
  • For phone casting, install or open a media app that supports Google Cast on an Android or iOS device.

Menu wording can change with firmware and region. XGIMI lists the MoGo 4 User Manual V1.0, and says electronic manuals can be updated. If your labels differ, use the current manual or XGIMI support materials for your region rather than forcing a step from an older interface.

Connect the MoGo 4 to Wi‑Fi

Connecting the projector to Wi‑Fi enables Google TV apps, software services that require an internet connection, and Google Cast from compatible phone apps.

  1. Turn on the MoGo 4 and wait for the Google TV interface to appear.
  2. Press the remote’s Settings button to open the shortcut menu.
  3. Select Wi‑Fi.
  4. Choose your wireless network from the list and complete the on-screen connection and password prompts.
  5. Wait for the network to show as connected before opening an app or starting a cast session.

XGIMI’s current Wi‑Fi support article documents the shortcut path through Settings → Wi‑Fi. It does not specify a universal password-entry sequence or model-specific recovery routine, so the exact keyboard and confirmation controls may depend on the current software version.

If your network does not appear

Check that the access point is powered on and that you selected the intended band or network name. Move the projector closer to the router for setup and rescan using the on-screen Wi‑Fi page. If the network still does not appear, consult the current MoGo 4 manual or XGIMI support; the published setup article does not establish a particular reset, channel, or security-setting procedure.

If the password is rejected

Re-enter the password carefully, including capitalization and symbols, and verify that you selected the correct network. Do not assume a failed password indicates a hardware fault. XGIMI provides no model-specific password recovery steps in the cited Wi‑Fi article, so use the current on-device instructions or manufacturer support if repeated attempts fail.

Choose the right Bluetooth direction

The MoGo 4 supports two opposite Bluetooth arrangements. In one, the projector sends its program audio to a speaker or headphones. In the other, a phone sends music to the projector, which acts as the playback device in a special speaker mode. The menus and the device that starts pairing are different.

What you want Who starts pairing Path
Projector audio through Bluetooth speaker or headphones The projector All Settings → Remote & Accessories → Pair accessory
Phone music through the projector The phone, after the projector enters speaker mode Atmosphere speaker mode, then search for the projector in the phone’s Bluetooth menu

Pair a Bluetooth speaker or headphones with the MoGo 4

Use this arrangement when you want movie, television, or app audio to play through separate Bluetooth audio equipment instead of the projector’s built-in speaker. XGIMI states that the MoGo 4 series supports Bluetooth 5.1 and can search for and connect to Bluetooth devices.

  1. Turn on the speaker or headphones and activate their pairing mode. Follow the accessory’s own instructions for its pairing button or indicator.
  2. On the MoGo 4, open All Settings.
  3. Select Remote & Accessories.
  4. Choose Pair accessory.
  5. Wait for the accessory name to appear, select it, and confirm the connection on screen if prompted.
  6. Start playback and check that the accessory, rather than the projector speaker, is producing sound.

The manufacturer’s support wording is: “The MoGo 4 series supports Bluetooth 5.1, allowing you to search and connect with any Bluetooth device.” That is a compatibility statement from XGIMI, not an independent measurement of range, connection success, or audio delay. The published material contains no tested latency figure.

When the accessory is not listed

  • Confirm that the speaker or headphones are in pairing mode, not merely switched on.
  • Move the accessory close to the projector during pairing.
  • Disconnect it from a phone, tablet, television, or another device that may have claimed the connection.
  • Return to All Settings → Remote & Accessories → Pair accessory and search again.

If pairing remains unsuccessful, check the accessory manual and the current MoGo 4 software documentation. Avoid assuming that every Bluetooth profile or advanced audio feature is supported simply because Bluetooth 5.1 is listed.

Use the MoGo 4 as a Bluetooth speaker for your phone

This is the reverse setup: your phone supplies the music and the projector plays it. XGIMI directs users to enter Atmosphere speaker mode, then search for the projector from the phone’s Bluetooth settings.

  1. Put the MoGo 4 into Atmosphere speaker mode using the projector’s available shortcut or mode control.
  2. On the phone, open Settings → Bluetooth (the exact label varies between Android and iOS).
  3. Enable Bluetooth and search for nearby devices.
  4. Select the MoGo 4 series entry when it appears and accept the pairing request.
  5. Play music from the phone and adjust volume on the phone or projector as appropriate.

XGIMI’s product information also refers to Ambient Light Mode. It describes that mode as supporting Bluetooth music only and not projector music. In practice, follow the exact mode name shown on your firmware: the important distinction is that the projector must be placed in its designated speaker mode before the phone searches for it.

Do not use the external-speaker menu for this job

All Settings → Remote & Accessories → Pair accessory is for the projector connecting out to a speaker or headphones. It is not the phone-to-projector procedure. If your phone cannot find the projector, first confirm that Atmosphere speaker mode is active, then repeat the search from the phone’s Bluetooth page.

Stream without an external device: Google TV and Google Cast

The MoGo 4 includes Google TV and licensed Netflix, so many owners can install or open supported services directly on the projector after Wi‑Fi is configured. A separate stick is therefore optional rather than a requirement for streaming.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Use built-in Google TV

  1. Connect the projector to Wi‑Fi.
  2. Open the app area on Google TV.
  3. Choose an installed service or use the on-screen app store to add a service available for your region and software version.
  4. Sign in using the service’s own account flow.

App availability, licensing, and labels can vary by country and may change over time. The presence of Google TV does not guarantee that every streaming service is offered in every region.

Cast from an Android or iOS phone

XGIMI says the MoGo 4 has built-in Google Cast. In a supported media app, open the app on an Android or iOS device, tap its Cast control, and search for the MoGo 4 series. Select the projector and start playback.

  1. Connect the phone and projector to the same Wi‑Fi network.
  2. Open a media app that supports Google Cast.
  3. Tap the app’s Cast icon and choose the MoGo 4 series.
  4. Start or select content in the phone app; use the app controls to pause, seek, or stop casting.

This instruction applies to supported Google Cast apps. It does not promise universal screen mirroring, compatibility with every app, or support for every phone service. If the projector is absent from the Cast list, check that both devices are on the same network and that the app actually supports Google Cast.

Connect a streaming stick through HDMI

Use an external streaming stick when you need an app unavailable on the projector, want a familiar interface, or prefer to keep streaming accounts on a separate device. The MoGo 4 has one HDMI input.

  1. Turn off or pause the projector if you want to make the cable connection with minimal on-screen switching.
  2. Insert the streaming stick into the MoGo 4’s HDMI input. Use an HDMI extension or cable if the stick’s physical design cannot fit comfortably.
  3. Connect the stick to power using its supplied or recommended adapter.
  4. Turn on the projector, select the HDMI input, and complete the stick’s own network and account setup.
  5. Use the stick’s remote or control app for streaming; the projector remote handles the display input and projector settings.

Why the projector USB port may not power a stick

XGIMI specifies that the MoGo 4 USB 2.0 port outputs 5 V and 500 mA. That is the documented ceiling, not a guarantee that every stick will operate from it. If a stick powers off, restarts, fails to boot, or behaves erratically when connected to USB, use the stick’s separate power supply. A stick can fit the projector’s ports and still require more current than the projector can provide.

HDMI limitations to know

The product specification lists one HDMI input and HDMI ARC support. It also states that HDR10 is not supported when HDMI is connected. Therefore, an HDMI stick can add apps and provide a preferred interface, but it does not make HDR10 available through that connection.

Which connection method should you use?

Option Best for Connection Important limitation
Built-in Google TV Watching services already available on the projector Projector’s Wi‑Fi A separate stick may be unnecessary; app availability varies by region.
Google Cast Sending content from a phone app Wi‑Fi and built-in Google Cast Only supported Cast apps are covered; this is not a universal mirroring promise.
Streaming stick Adding apps or using an external interface HDMI USB power is limited to 5 V/500 mA; separate power may be required, and HDMI HDR10 is not supported according to product notes.
Bluetooth speaker or headphones Listening through separate audio gear Bluetooth pairing started on the projector Use All Settings → Remote & Accessories → Pair accessory.
Projector speaker mode Playing phone music through the projector Bluetooth pairing started on the phone after entering Atmosphere speaker mode Ambient Light Mode is described as Bluetooth music only, not projector music.

Connection specifications at a glance

Feature MoGo 4 specification or support statement
Wireless networking Wi‑Fi 5, dual-band 2.4/5 GHz, 802.11a/b/g/n/ac
Bluetooth Bluetooth 5.1 and BLE
HDMI One HDMI input; HDMI ARC listed
USB USB 2.0 output rated at 5 V and 500 mA
Built-in streaming platform Google TV with licensed Netflix listed by XGIMI
Casting Built-in Google Cast for supported apps on Android and iOS

These are manufacturer specifications and instructions. No independent source in the published material reports a connection-success rate, real-home Wi‑Fi speed, setup time, or Bluetooth delay, so those outcomes will depend on your network, devices, software, and room.

Troubleshoot by symptom

The projector connects to Wi‑Fi but an app will not load

Verify that the projector is still connected to the intended network and that other devices can reach the internet through it. Reopen the app after confirming the network status. If the Wi‑Fi connection itself is unstable, use the documented Settings → Wi‑Fi page and then consult the current manual or XGIMI support for model-specific diagnostics.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The Bluetooth speaker is connected but sound remains on the projector

Check that you used the external-audio path, All Settings → Remote & Accessories → Pair accessory, and that the intended accessory shows as connected. Stop any competing Bluetooth connection and start playback again. If the accessory is only paired to the phone, it may not be connected to the projector at all.

The phone cannot find the MoGo 4 as a speaker

Enter Atmosphere speaker mode first, then search from the phone’s Bluetooth settings. Do not search while the projector is operating in its normal projection mode and expect the same discovery behavior. Confirm that the phone is not already connected to another speaker or headphones.

The streaming stick repeatedly reboots

Use the stick’s separate power adapter. The projector’s USB 2.0 output is specified at only 5 V/500 mA, and XGIMI warns that a separate supply may be needed when that output does not meet the stick’s requirement.

The cast icon does not show the projector

Put the phone and projector on the same Wi‑Fi network, open a media app that supports Google Cast, and try its Cast control again. XGIMI’s instructions cover supported Cast apps, not every app or a full-phone display mirror. If the device still does not appear, check the current manual and app support documentation.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Bottom line for setting up your MoGo 4

Start with the built-in Google TV if the services you need are available; it avoids an extra device. Use Google Cast when a supported phone app is the most convenient controller. Add a streaming stick over HDMI for additional apps or a preferred external interface, but power it separately whenever the stick needs more than 5 V/500 mA. For audio, pair a speaker or headphones from the projector’s Remote & Accessories menu, and use Atmosphere speaker mode when the phone should send music to the projector.
