Samsung Galaxy Buds connect to an iPhone over Bluetooth, so you can use them for basic audio without the Galaxy Buds app. App support is narrower: Samsung lists Galaxy Buds Live and Galaxy Buds+ as compatible with its iOS app; other models connect to iPhone through Bluetooth only.
Pair Galaxy Buds with an iPhone for the first time

Put both earbuds in their charging case and close the lid. Wait 5–6 seconds, then open the lid to put the earbuds into Bluetooth pairing mode, as described in Samsung’s connection guide.

On your iPhone, open Settings > Bluetooth and make sure Bluetooth is on.

When your Galaxy Buds appear in the available devices list, tap their name to connect.

You do not need the Galaxy Buds iOS app to pair earbuds for basic Bluetooth audio.
If the earbuds were already paired with another device
They may need to re-enter pairing mode before the iPhone can find them. Samsung’s instructions vary by model: original Galaxy Buds, Buds+, Buds Live, and Buds Pro use both touchpads while the earbuds are worn; Buds2 and Buds2 Pro use both touchpads while the earbuds are in the case. Follow the current directions for your exact model in Samsung’s connection guide, since pairing procedures can differ by model.

What works on iPhone, and what depends on the model
Bluetooth audio pairing and companion-app compatibility are separate. Samsung’s U.S. compatibility page lists Galaxy Buds Live and Galaxy Buds+ as compatible with the Galaxy Buds iOS app. Other Galaxy Buds models can connect over Bluetooth, but Samsung identifies them as Bluetooth-only for iOS, without access to that app. See Samsung’s current iOS compatibility list for model-specific details.
Samsung’s Auto switch feature is unavailable on iOS. Samsung describes Auto switch as working with Samsung phones and tablets and Samsung TVs from 2022 or later, subject to device and account conditions; details are on its Auto switch support page.
