The available product reference says the handheld has no HDMI output and no wireless TV-streaming feature. Its USB-C port is not documented as carrying video, so a USB-C-to-HDMI adapter, dock or casting accessory should not be treated as a solution.
If you want Evercade cartridges on a television, the relevant product is the separate Evercade VS-R home console. It is a second console designed for TV play, not a dock that adds video output to the Nexus.

The short answer: Nexus is handheld-only for TV purposes
The Evercade Nexus is designed to be used as a portable handheld. A specialist product reference states that it “does not include HDMI output or wireless TV streaming.” That means there is no documented cable connection from the Nexus to a television and no documented way to mirror its screen over Wi-Fi.
This distinction matters because the Nexus does have a USB-C connection. A USB-C socket does not automatically mean that a device supports DisplayPort Alt Mode, HDMI output or docking. The available Nexus information does not establish video output over USB-C, and it does not identify a compatible dock. Without that support, an adapter can provide a physical plug connection without producing a picture.
#1 Best Overall
- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Therefore, there is no reliable set of Nexus instructions such as “plug in this cable, select this TV input and start playing.” Recommending one would imply compatibility that the available product information does not confirm.
Why common TV-connection ideas do not solve the Nexus limitation
A USB-C-to-HDMI adapter is not a confirmed workaround
USB-C-to-HDMI adapters work only when the source device sends video through the USB-C port using a supported display standard. The Nexus reference identifies USB-C as a connection but does not document video output, DisplayPort Alt Mode, HDMI-over-USB-C or an approved adapter. The port may be intended for charging or other functions without acting as a display output.
Buying an adapter on the assumption that every USB-C device can drive a television risks getting a blank screen, a charging-only connection or an accessory that is incompatible with the handheld. There is no cited resolution, refresh rate, audio behavior or latency specification for a Nexus TV output because no supported output is established.

Many laptop and tablet docks expose HDMI, USB and Ethernet through one USB-C connection. Those docks depend on the host device supporting the relevant USB-C display mode. The available Nexus material does not identify a dock, a dock firmware requirement or any video protocol that a dock could use. A dock therefore cannot be presented as a supported way to add TV play.

Wireless casting is not documented either
The same product summary says the Nexus has no wireless TV streaming. That rules out treating a Chromecast-style receiver, smart-TV mirroring function or proprietary wireless display system as an established feature. Installing a receiver at the television cannot create a streaming function that the handheld itself does not provide.
A capture card would not create a signal
A capture card records or passes through an existing video signal. It does not convert ordinary handheld gameplay into HDMI when the source has no documented video output. Connecting a capture device to the Nexus’s USB-C port would still depend on unsupported video transmission, so it is not a practical workaround.

The Evercade VS-R is the TV alternative
The Evercade VS-R is described as a separate home console that connects to a television. It is not a Nexus dock, an expansion base or a converter for the handheld. You would own and use the VS-R as the TV system while keeping the Nexus for portable play.

A cited comparison says that both the Nexus and VS-R play the Evercade cartridge library. That makes the VS-R relevant if you already own Evercade cartridges, but compatibility should still be checked for any particular cartridge or edition when that detail matters. The comparison establishes the broad library relationship; it does not, by itself, verify every individual cartridge.

How TV connection works on the Evercade home-console route
The official Evercade VS quick-start guide describes the basic wired arrangement for the VS: connect the console’s HDMI Out port to an HDMI input on the television. It also says an HDMI cable is not included. That guide is for the VS, not a model-specific VS-R manual, so use it to understand the connection concept and follow the VS-R guide and labels for the exact hardware.
- Confirm that you are setting up a VS-R, not the Nexus. The Nexus cannot be converted into the TV console described here.
- Place the VS-R near the television and an appropriate power outlet. Leave enough room to reach the console’s rear or side ports without bending the cable sharply.
- Locate the VS-R’s HDMI output. Use the port label and the VS-R manual. Do not assume that a port on the Nexus has the same function.
- Connect an HDMI cable between the console’s HDMI Out and an HDMI input on the TV. The VS quick-start guide says the cable is not included with that console; check the VS-R package contents before buying one.
- Connect power and switch on the television and console. Use the television’s input or source control to select the HDMI socket used by the console.
- Insert the Evercade cartridge and follow the VS-R’s own startup instructions. Cartridge behavior, menus and controller setup should be confirmed against the VS-R documentation rather than inferred from the Nexus.
- If there is no picture, check the selected TV input and both cable connections first. Then test the cable and TV input with another known-good HDMI device before concluding that the console is faulty.
Those steps describe the established VS-style HDMI arrangement, not a hidden Nexus feature. Keep the two workflows separate: the Nexus remains a handheld, while the VS-R supplies the TV output.
Choosing between the Nexus and a second console
Keep using the Nexus when portability is the priority
If you bought the Nexus to play away from a television, its lack of external-display output does not prevent that use. You can continue playing on its built-in screen and avoid spending money on adapters that have no documented compatibility. This is the simplest option when TV play is occasional or unnecessary.

Choose a VS-R when TV play is a core requirement
A separate VS-R makes sense when you want a controller-based living-room setup, a larger shared display or a console that stays connected to the television. The trade-off is that it is another piece of hardware, not a low-cost add-on for the Nexus. Your decision should account for the cost and space of a second console, an HDMI cable if one is not supplied, and any accessories required by the VS-R package in your region.
Use both systems for different situations
The two products can serve different roles: Nexus for portable sessions and VS-R for the television. The cited comparison’s shared-library description is why an existing Evercade owner may consider this two-device approach, but verify the specific cartridges you care about before purchasing a second system.

You are trying to connect the Nexus directly
Stop before replacing cables or changing TV settings. The documented Nexus limitation is the absence of HDMI output and wireless TV streaming. A different adapter does not address that underlying limitation. Use the handheld screen or move the TV session to a separate VS-R.
You connected a USB-C-to-HDMI adapter and see a blank screen
A blank screen is consistent with an unsupported video path. Remove the adapter and do not treat successful charging as proof that video should work; charging and display output are separate functions. There is no cited Nexus specification confirming that the USB-C port can send a display signal.

Your VS-R shows “no signal”
- Confirm the HDMI cable is connected to the console’s HDMI Out and to the TV input you selected.
- Use the TV remote’s source menu to select the matching HDMI input.
- Power-cycle the television and console, then test another HDMI input if available.
- Try a known-good HDMI cable. The VS quick-start guide says an HDMI cable is not included with that model, so a cable may need to be supplied separately; verify what came with the VS-R.
- Check the VS-R manual for model-specific power, cartridge and controller instructions rather than applying Nexus assumptions.
You expected the VS-R to dock the Nexus
The VS-R is a separate home console. The available information does not describe a docking function in which the Nexus supplies the game software or screen output to the VS-R. Treat the systems as independent consoles that can use the Evercade cartridge ecosystem described in the comparison.
Bottom line for a bigger-screen Evercade setup
There is no documented way to send Evercade Nexus gameplay to a TV. The handheld’s cited product summary specifically excludes HDMI output and wireless TV streaming, and the available information does not confirm video over USB-C or support for a dock. Do not buy a generic adapter expecting it to work.
For Evercade gaming on a television, use the separate VS-R home console and follow its own manual. The VS quick-start guide’s HDMI Out-to-TV arrangement explains the general connection, while its note that an HDMI cable is not included applies to that VS guide and should be checked against the VS-R package. The Nexus remains the portable option; the VS-R is the TV-connected alternative.
