To connect an iPhone or iPad to a Samsung TV with AirPlay, put both devices on the same Wi-Fi network, turn on AirPlay in the TV’s settings, then select the TV from Control Center’s Screen Mirroring menu. Enter the code displayed on the TV if prompted. AirPlay is available only on select Samsung TV models.
Before you start
- Connect the Samsung TV and iPhone or iPad to the same Wi-Fi network. Samsung also says the TV should have an internet connection.
- Check that the exact TV model supports AirPlay. Samsung lists support for select models, not every television; availability varies by model year and region. On the TV, look for Apple AirPlay Settings as a quick compatibility clue.
Samsung says most mobile hotspots do not allow the device-to-device communication AirPlay needs. For model-specific compatibility and menu differences, use your regional Samsung support page or TV manual: Samsung US AirPlay guide, Samsung UK AirPlay guide.

Turn on AirPlay on the Samsung TV
- Open Settings on the TV.
- Go to All Settings > General > Apple AirPlay Settings. On Samsung TVs from 2022–2025, the menu may instead show Connection in place of General.
- Set AirPlay to On.
Menu names and paths can vary by model and region. If you cannot find Apple AirPlay Settings, check the TV’s manual or Samsung support information for your region.

Mirror your iPhone or iPad screen
- Open Control Center: swipe down from the upper-right corner on newer iPhone and iPad models, or swipe up from the bottom edge on older models.
- Tap Screen Mirroring.
- Choose your Samsung TV from the list.
- If a passcode appears on the TV, enter it on your iPhone or iPad.
Your device’s display should then appear on the TV. To stop, open Control Center, tap Screen Mirroring, then stop mirroring.

Mirror the screen or send just one item?
| What you want to do | How to connect |

| Show the whole device display | Use Control Center > Screen Mirroring and select the TV. |
| Share a photo or video | In Photos, use the sharing controls and choose AirPlay, where available. |
| Send audio from an app | Use that app’s AirPlay control, if it offers one. |
Direct sharing keeps the connection focused on the photo, video, or audio item rather than mirroring everything on the device. The available controls depend on the app and software version. Samsung documents these options in its AirPlay support guide.
If your Samsung TV does not appear
- Check the Wi-Fi network. Confirm that both devices are connected to the same network. A mobile hotspot may block the local communication AirPlay requires.
- Check the TV setting. Confirm that AirPlay is turned on under Apple AirPlay Settings.
- Verify model support. AirPlay works on select Samsung TVs. Check the exact model and the compatibility information for your region rather than assuming every Samsung TV supports it.
- Check the connection if AirPlay is grayed out. Samsung advises checking network connectivity and confirming both devices are on the same network. If those checks do not help, Samsung’s troubleshooting guidance includes resetting Smart Hub: Samsung AirPlay troubleshooting.
- Use the local instructions. Menu labels and sequences can differ by region and model; consult the TV manual or regional Samsung support page if the paths above do not match your screen.
The current Samsung setup guidance centers on Wi-Fi and the TV’s AirPlay setting; Bluetooth pairing is not established as a universal requirement.

Which Samsung TVs support AirPlay?
Support is model-specific. Samsung’s US guide describes select models from 2018–2025, while its UK guide lists particular model families and years, including QLED, The Frame, Serif, Crystal UHD, and selected other lines. Those regional lists are not a blanket guarantee for every TV in a family or market. Check the exact model number against Samsung’s support information for your country; the presence of Apple AirPlay Settings in the TV menu can also help identify support.
