Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →The reliable way to connect a wireless controller is to pair the exact controller model with the exact device, then test it in the game you intend to play. The usual sequence is: identify the controller, enable Bluetooth pairing on the host device, put the controller into its model-specific pairing mode, select it from the device’s Bluetooth list, and confirm that the game supports it.
Those steps are not universal. Xbox, PlayStation and Switch controllers use different pairing controls, and a controller can connect successfully while a particular game, button, audio jack, light or rumble feature remains unsupported. Keep a compatible USB data cable available: when both devices support wired input, it is the most useful fallback.

Before you start: identify the controller and the target device
Look at the controller’s exact model name before pressing any buttons. Similar-looking models can use different wireless radios, charging ports and pairing sequences. The support page for that model is the authority for its button combination and supported operating systems.

- Identify the host: Windows 11 PC, Mac, iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, Apple Vision Pro, Android phone or Nintendo Switch. Support is platform-specific.
- Check the game or app: operating-system recognition does not guarantee in-game input. Some games support only certain controller families or omit features such as motion controls, rumble, lights or an audio jack.
- Charge the controller: a low battery can make pairing appear unreliable. If you use a cable, it must carry data as well as power.
- Prepare a fallback: use a cable that physically matches the controller’s port. Do not buy a cable by appearance alone; connector type varies by model.
- Disconnect competing hosts when necessary: if the controller is already connected to another nearby device, turn Bluetooth off on that device or follow the controller’s instructions for entering a fresh pairing mode.
“Wireless” describes the connection method, not a single standard. A controller may support Bluetooth, a manufacturer-specific wireless system, USB, or a combination of those methods.

- 【Strong Adsorption】The inspiration of the silicone phone suction case comes from the adhesive force of the octopus. Each suction cup phone mount is 3.15 inches long and 2.17 inches wide, with 24 independent suction cups providing a stronger and more stable suction force, so you don't have to worry about your phone falling during use.
- 【Back of Phone Suction Grip】Remove the adhesive film on the phone suction cup and stick it on the phone case. You can then fix the phone on any smooth surface, which is very convenient. (The phone suction cup cannot be removed and reused after being attached to the phone case. It is recommended to attach it to a regular phone case, not a valuable one.)
- 【Widely Used】Our non-slip silicone phone sticky grip mount attaches to almost any flat phone case and make it compatible with common mobile phones such as iPhone and Android. You can shoot, watch videos or video calls in the kitchen, gym, dance studio, bathroom and other places.
- 【Capture the Wonderful Picture】Whether you are a TikTok creator or just like to share videos and photos, this phone suction cup can help you hands-free capture wonderful videos and photos for sharing with friends.
- 【Note】You can fix the phone suction cup on a smooth surface such as a mirror or glass. If necessary, wipe the suction cup with a damp cloth to obtain stronger suction. Before releasing your hand, make sure the phone is firmly fixed. (Not applicable to rough walls, wooden surfaces, and other uneven surfaces)
Connection methods compared
| Method | What you need | When it helps | Important limits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bluetooth | A controller and host that both support Bluetooth | No cable; works with many PCs, phones, tablets and televisions | Pairing buttons differ by model; game and accessory support still vary |
| Xbox Wireless | A compatible Xbox controller and a host that supports Xbox Wireless, or the required adapter | Microsoft documents it as an Xbox-controller-to-PC option alongside Bluetooth and USB | It is not the same process as Bluetooth and is not a universal radio for every controller or device |
| USB data cable | A cable with the correct connector that carries data and power | Useful when Bluetooth is unavailable, pairing fails or you want a direct connection | A charge-only cable will not provide controller data; the port and operating-system support must match |
| Bluetooth adapter | A compatible adapter for a PC without built-in Bluetooth, plus supported drivers | Adds Bluetooth capability to some desktop PCs | Compatibility depends on the particular adapter, controller and operating system; no single model is universally established |
Choose a method on four questions: does both hardware support it, do you need a cable or adapter, will the game recognize the controller, and will the features you care about work? Official support guidance does not establish one method as best for every setup.
Connect a controller to a Windows 11 PC
Xbox Wireless Controller over Bluetooth
Microsoft lists Bluetooth, Xbox Wireless and USB for connecting common Xbox Wireless Controllers to a Windows PC. Bluetooth is the simplest route when the PC has Bluetooth enabled and the controller supports it.
- Turn on the controller.
- Hold the controller’s Pair button until the Xbox logo begins flashing. A steady logo means the controller is on; the flashing state is the pairing state.
- On Windows 11, open Settings > Bluetooth & devices, turn Bluetooth on, choose Add device, select Bluetooth, and select the controller when it appears.
- Wait for Windows to report that the device is connected. Keep the controller close to the PC while the first pairing completes.
- Open the intended game and select its controller or gamepad option if the game has one. Test movement, buttons and any feature you specifically need.
The Xbox button sequence applies to Xbox controllers. Do not use it as a generic recipe for a PlayStation, Switch or third-party controller.

Other controllers over Bluetooth
- Read the controller’s model-specific support instructions and put it into pairing mode. The required button combination can differ even between generations from the same manufacturer.
- Use Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Add device > Bluetooth.
- Select the controller’s name. If several entries appear, use the model name printed on the controller or its manual rather than guessing.
- After Windows connects, test the controller in the game. A successful Bluetooth connection only proves that Windows can communicate with the device; the game must also support it.
Use USB when Bluetooth is unavailable
- Choose a cable that matches the controller port and explicitly supports data.
- Connect the controller directly to the PC, avoiding an unpowered hub while diagnosing a problem.
- Wait for Windows to detect it, then open the game and check its controller settings.
- If the controller charges but does not appear as an input device, try a different known data cable. Charging alone does not prove that the cable carries controller data.
DualShock 4 on Windows
PlayStation lists a compatible Micro-USB cable or the DualShock 4 USB wireless adaptor for Windows PC. Use the connection route supported by your exact controller and Windows setup, then verify support in the game. A controller can be connected to Windows while a particular title still lacks native DualShock 4 support.

- SUPERIOR COMFORT — Unlike traditional circular ear buds, the design of EarPods is defined by the geometry of the ear. Which makes them more comfortable for more people than any other ear bud–style headphones.
- HIGH-QUALITY AUDIO — The speakers inside EarPods have been engineered to maximize sound output and minimize sound loss, which means you get high-quality audio.
- BUILT-IN REMOTE — EarPods with USB-C plug also include a built-in remote that lets you adjust the volume, control the playback of music and video, and answer or end calls with a pinch of the cord.
- COMPATIBILITY — Works with all devices that have a USB-C port.
- INTEGRATED MICROPHONE — A built-in microphone precisely captures your voice while you’re on the phone, taking a FaceTime call, or summoning Siri — so you’re always heard loud and clear.
DualSense on Windows
PlayStation documents DualSense connections to supported Windows PCs by USB-C cable or Bluetooth. The same support page cautions that game support varies: being connected to the PC does not guarantee that every game recognizes the controller or exposes every DualSense feature.
Connect to an iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV or Apple Vision Pro
Bluetooth pairing
Apple’s controller guidance covers supported Xbox, PlayStation and other Bluetooth controllers across iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, Mac and Apple Vision Pro.
- Put the controller into its model-specific pairing mode. For an Xbox controller, use the Pair button until the Xbox logo flashes; other controllers use different controls.
- Open the Apple device’s Bluetooth settings. On iPhone or iPad, use Settings > Bluetooth; on Mac, open System Settings > Bluetooth. Apple TV and Apple Vision Pro expose Bluetooth settings in their respective Settings apps.
- Choose the controller when its name appears, then wait for the connected status.
- Launch the game or app and test the controls. If the app has a controller menu, select the connected device there.
USB connection
Some controllers can pair automatically when plugged directly into an Apple device with a USB cable that supports both data and charging. Use the correct connector for the controller and the Apple device, and confirm that the cable is not charge-only. If the device supplies power but no input, replace the cable before changing other settings.

Connect a controller to an Android phone
Bluetooth
PlayStation documents DualSense support on supported Android devices over Bluetooth. The general process is the same as other Bluetooth hosts: open the phone’s Bluetooth settings, place the controller into its model-specific pairing mode, select it, and then test it in the game.
- Open the phone’s Settings > Connected devices or Bluetooth menu; wording varies by Android version and manufacturer.
- Enable Bluetooth and choose the option to pair a new device if the phone requires it.
- Activate the controller’s pairing mode according to its support instructions.
- Select the controller’s name, accept the pairing prompt, and test the game.
USB on Android
DualSense is also documented for supported Android devices by USB-C cable. The phone, controller and cable must all support the wired data connection. A USB connection that only charges the controller will not provide game input.
Android compatibility is not a blanket guarantee for every controller or every game. Confirm support for the exact phone, controller model and title before relying on a feature such as rumble, motion input or a headset jack.
Pair a controller with Nintendo Switch
Nintendo’s pairing FAQ distinguishes wireless pairing from a physical-connection route used for first-time pairing. The exact menu and button sequence depends on the Switch model and controller, so follow Nintendo’s instructions for that specific combination.

- Wake the Switch and open the controller-management area from the Home menu.
- Choose the option Nintendo provides for changing the controller order or pairing a new controller.
- Put the controller into its model-specific wireless pairing mode and wait for it to appear.
- When the console registers it, test the buttons and sticks in a game or the console’s controller-test screen.
- If wireless pairing is not available, connect the controller physically using the route supported for that Switch model and controller, then repeat the on-screen pairing instructions.
Switch-console pairing instructions do not establish that the same controller will work identically on a PC or phone. Cross-platform support must be confirmed separately.
Verify that the game actually supports the controller
Do not stop at the operating system’s “connected” message. A game may require a controller option to be enabled, may support only certain models, or may accept basic buttons while omitting advanced features.
- Open the game’s input or controller settings and look for the connected device.
- Test both sticks, the directional pad, shoulder buttons, triggers and menu buttons.
- If relevant, test rumble, motion controls, lights, an audio jack and a headset microphone.
- Check the controller maker’s support page and the game’s own requirements when a feature is missing.
- On PC, remember that PlayStation specifically warns that DualSense support varies by game even when the controller is connected.
If basic input works but one accessory does not, the connection may be healthy and the missing feature may simply be unsupported by that game or app.

2. Enter pairing mode, not just power-on mode
A controller that is switched on may try to reconnect to its last host instead of advertising itself. Use the manufacturer’s pairing sequence. For an Xbox controller on PC, hold Pair until the Xbox logo flashes.
3. Refresh the host Bluetooth list
Open the host’s Bluetooth settings, turn Bluetooth off and on if necessary, then search again and select the controller’s entry. Keep the controller nearby during discovery.
4. Remove a stale pairing
If the controller appears as an old or failed entry, remove that entry from the host’s Bluetooth device list, restart pairing mode on the controller and add it again. Also disable Bluetooth on a nearby device that may be reclaiming the controller.
5. Switch to a wired data connection
Use a cable with the correct connector and data support. If the controller only charges, test a different cable; the first cable may provide power without carrying data.
6. Check the game separately
If the operating system sees the controller but the game does not, inspect the game’s controller requirements and settings. Do not assume that changing Bluetooth settings will add support the title does not provide.
7. Check feature-specific limitations
When buttons work but an audio jack, lights, rumble or motion feature does not, consult the controller and app documentation. Apple explicitly notes that these features vary by controller and app, and PlayStation notes that DualSense support varies by PC game.
Which connection should you choose?
Choose Bluetooth when
- The controller and host both list Bluetooth support.
- You want to play without a cable and the game supports the controller.
- You can follow the exact pairing sequence for that model.
Choose USB when
- The PC, phone or console lacks compatible Bluetooth.
- Bluetooth discovery or reconnection keeps failing.
- You need a direct, documented connection and have a suitable data cable.
Consider a PC Bluetooth adapter when
- The PC has no built-in Bluetooth and the controller’s documentation supports Bluetooth on that operating system.
- You are willing to verify the adapter-controller combination before buying. Adapter compatibility is not universal.
Use a manufacturer-specific wireless system when
- The controller and host explicitly support it, as Microsoft documents for Xbox Wireless Controllers and compatible PCs.
- You understand that this is separate from ordinary Bluetooth pairing and may require specific hardware.
The safest purchase is conditional: first identify the controller port, then obtain a cable that fits and carries data. There is no single cable, adapter or pairing sequence that applies to every wireless gaming controller.
