Whether you can pair a Sonos soundbar over Bluetooth depends on the model. Sonos’s Bluetooth support page lists Arc Ultra and Beam Ultra as the soundbars with Bluetooth. Set up either one in the Sonos app over Wi-Fi first. Then put it in pairing mode and select it in your phone, tablet, or computer’s Bluetooth settings.
Check your model first
Sonos’s instructions name only Arc Ultra and Beam Ultra in the soundbar category. Don’t assume every Sonos soundbar accepts Bluetooth input. If your soundbar isn’t one of these two, find its exact model name and use the audio connections and services Sonos supports for it. Sonos’s sources don’t establish that a generic Bluetooth transmitter will add Bluetooth input to an unlisted soundbar, so don’t count on one working. Sonos’s Beam setup page covers the Beam Gen 1 and Gen 2 and doesn’t establish Bluetooth support for them.

Play Bluetooth audio in other Sonos rooms
Arc Ultra and Beam Ultra are both on Sonos’s list of products that can share Bluetooth audio with grouped Sonos products. The soundbar must be connected to your Sonos system over Wi-Fi. In the Sonos app’s System view, use the grouping control beside the room playing Bluetooth audio and pick the rooms to add. The soundbar has to stay grouped for sharing to continue.
Quick Recap
Best Value
- Surround yourself in the story: Go deeper into every scene with spatial audio. Dolby Atmos and the upward-firing drivers work in concert to immerse you in a multidimensional soundstage. You’ll hear planes as if they’re flying overhead, sense footsteps moving across the room, and feel the music swell all around you.
- Feel the bass: Experience every rumble, roar, and beat you've been missing with clean, pulse-pounding bass. Sub 4 takes over the lowest frequencies so paired speakers are free to focus on midrange and high frequencies so everything sounds even clearer.
- Wonderfully wireless: Place Sub 4 anywhere in the room. It connects to the soundbar over WiFi, so you can create the setup that works best for your space.
- Perfectly tuned for the room: Using the microphones in your iOS device, Trueplay tuning technology analyzes the unique acoustics of your space and optimizes the EQ. So all your content sounds just the way it should.
- Breeze through setup: Simply plug in the power cable, connect your phone or tablet to WiFi, and open the Sonos app. It will guide you through connecting the soundbar to your TV and syncing your TV remote for streamlined control.

If pairing fails or audio skips
- Pairing fails: confirm the model is Arc Ultra or Beam Ultra and that Wi-Fi setup in the Sonos app is finished.
- Audio stops or skips: Sonos advises keeping the source within about 30 feet. Real range varies with the environment. Microwaves, cordless phones, metal, and concrete can interfere.
- Streaming app audio drops: check the phone’s Wi-Fi or cellular data connection, since the app’s stream itself may be what’s interrupted.
