You can’t mirror a laptop’s screen to a Samsung Smart TV over Bluetooth. Bluetooth pairing and screen mirroring are separate features. Samsung’s Windows instructions use a wireless-display connection over Wi-Fi, and its Bluetooth guidance covers audio devices such as speakers and headphones. If your goal is to see your laptop on the TV, use one of the routes below: Windows wireless display, AirPlay on a Mac, or an HDMI cable.
Why Bluetooth is the wrong tool here
Samsung describes Bluetooth on its TVs mainly for pairing compatible audio devices. Its support guidance points to Settings > Sound > Sound Output and a Bluetooth Speaker List to check that kind of support, and it notes that features vary by model. That’s useful if you want TV sound through a Bluetooth speaker. It isn’t a way to carry your laptop’s video.

The fact that a Samsung Smart Remote uses Bluetooth doesn’t mean the TV can receive a mirrored display over Bluetooth either. The confusion is easy to fall into on Windows, because the setup screen is called “Bluetooth & other devices.” Inside it, though, you choose Wireless display or dock, and that connection runs over your Wi-Fi network.
Windows 10 or 11: wireless display
Samsung says most Windows 10 and 11 PCs support this, subject to a compatibility check. Menu names can vary with your software version and TV model.

- Make sure the laptop and the TV are on the same Wi-Fi network.
- On the laptop, press Windows+P. Look for Connect to a wireless display. If that choice is missing, Samsung says the PC isn’t compatible with this method, so skip to HDMI.
- Open Start and search for Bluetooth and other device settings.
- Choose Add device (or Add Bluetooth or other device), then select Wireless display or dock.
- Pick your TV from the list. Accept the connection prompt on the TV if one appears.
- When you finish, disconnect from the same Windows device settings.

Mac: AirPlay
Samsung’s e-Manual and its laptop-to-TV support article both direct Mac users to AirPlay for screen sharing. Support depends on the TV model and region, so check your TV’s manual to confirm that AirPlay is available and to find the exact menus before you start.

Wired fallback: HDMI
- Check which video output your laptop has. A full-size HDMI port needs only a standard HDMI cable. Other ports, such as USB-C, need a compatible adapter, and port compatibility varies by laptop.
- Connect the cable from the laptop to a free HDMI input on the TV.
- On the TV, open Home or Source and select the HDMI input you used (often labeled PC or HDMI).
Samsung’s US guidance describes this laptop/PC workflow. Samsung Hong Kong’s support page also lists HDMI-to-HDMI as an option, but it is scoped to products sold there, so treat its cable examples as regional. An HDMI cable for laptop to TV is the only thing most people need to buy. Pick the length and type from your own laptop and TV ports, as the Samsung sources don’t recommend a specific brand or model.

“Connect to a wireless display” is missing
Your PC isn’t compatible with this route. Use HDMI rather than retrying Bluetooth.

The TV doesn’t appear in the list
Confirm both devices are on the same Wi-Fi network. Then check your TV model’s screen-sharing support and software menus in the Samsung manual.
HDMI shows no picture
Reseat the cable at both ends, confirm the TV is on the matching input, and check whether your laptop’s port needs an adapter.

Wireless or HDMI?
Wireless display gives you a cable-free setup, while HDMI depends on your ports and a cable run. The practical things to weigh are compatibility, setup reliability, latency and which ports your laptop and TV have. Samsung’s sources confirm both routes exist but give no controlled performance comparison, so these are selection criteria, not measured results. If wireless fails the compatibility check or feels unreliable, HDMI is the dependable choice.
