Configure Rally Bar 2 by deciding first where the meeting application will run: directly on a supported CollabOS appliance, or on a dedicated room computer. Logitech’s current compatibility matrix lists Rally Bar 2 for Zoom Rooms Appliance and Microsoft Teams Rooms on Android, and also includes a Teams Rooms on Windows compatibility entry. Prepare the room identity, license, network, display, and controller plan before powering on. Then use the current Rally Bar 2 installation guide for the physical connections and first-boot wizard, sign in to the selected platform, update the software, and run test meetings.
Choose the room architecture before connecting cables
Rally Bar 2 can be deployed in more than one room design. In an appliance deployment, the room application runs on the room device itself. In a Windows deployment, Teams Rooms runs on a dedicated room computer and Rally Bar 2 supplies the room’s camera, microphones, speaker, and related audiovisual functions. The right choice depends on how your organization provisions accounts, manages room devices, schedules meetings, and supports endpoints.

| Deployment path | Where the room application runs | Use this path when | Important qualification |
|---|---|---|---|
| Microsoft Teams Rooms on Android | On the supported CollabOS room appliance | The room is administered as a Teams room and an appliance model is preferred | Rally Bar 2 is listed in Logitech’s current compatibility matrix; verify the matrix and model-specific requirements at installation time. |
| Zoom Rooms Appliance | On the supported room appliance | The room is administered as a Zoom Room without a separate room PC | Zoom requires a Zoom Rooms license, portal access for the installer, and a compatible appliance. |
| Microsoft Teams Rooms on Windows | On a dedicated Windows room computer | Your organization standardizes on Windows room systems or needs that management model | Logitech’s matrix includes a Windows compatibility entry. Confirm the exact Rally Bar 2 mode, computer, operating system, and peripherals in current device documentation. |
Do not select a path solely because it appears to require fewer boxes. Administration, identity, licensing, controller support, network policy, and update ownership can matter more than the number of devices. Decide which platform will own room scheduling and which team will monitor the endpoint before installation.

Logitech’s general deployment guidance recommends choosing the platform, preparing the room account and license, consulting the product documentation and wiring diagram, and then setting up Sync and enrolling the devices. Those pages include examples for related Rally Bar systems. Use them for deployment logic, but use the current Rally Bar 2 guide for every port label, cable, mount, and first-boot screen.
Understand the Rally Bar 2 wiring limitation
The available public technical examples do not provide a complete Rally Bar 2-specific port-to-port diagram or a model-specific first-boot walkthrough. Earlier Rally Bar diagrams should not be copied as if they were an exact Rally Bar 2 map. Port names, display connections, USB behavior, and controller arrangements can differ by model or deployment mode.
For the physical installation, open the current Rally Bar 2 Getting Started or deployment guide that matches your regional product and planned mode. Follow its sequence for mounting, power, display, Ethernet, USB or room-computer connections, and controller pairing. Confirm every connector against the labels printed on your unit instead of relying on a diagram for another Rally Bar generation.

Set up Microsoft Teams Rooms on Android
1. Create and prepare the room resource account
Microsoft states that each physical meeting room needs its own Teams Rooms resource account. The account represents the room, not the employee who installs it. Create or select the account in your organization’s Microsoft 365 and Exchange administration, assign the licensing required by your tenant, and make sure the installer has the credentials or sign-in method needed at first boot.
Record the exact sign-in name and password in your approved credential-handling system. Do not substitute a personal user account simply because it is convenient during installation. A personal identity can make scheduling, ownership, and later support confusing, and it may not have the room settings expected by Teams Rooms.
2. Install the hardware using the Rally Bar 2 guide
Mount Rally Bar 2 so the camera has the intended view of the table and participants, the microphones are not blocked, and the speaker output is not trapped behind furniture. Connect power, the display, and the network according to the model-specific guide. If the room uses a separate controller or a Windows computer, connect those devices exactly as the guide specifies.

Keep the room device, display, and controller on the network expected by the deployment design. A controller on an isolated guest network may not discover the bar even when both devices appear to have internet access.
3. Complete the first-boot sign-in
Power on the system and select the Teams Rooms configuration when the wizard asks for the room platform or mode. Enter the prepared room resource account and its password. Follow the on-screen prompts for region, language, network, and display behavior. The exact wording and order can change with the installed CollabOS and Teams Rooms releases, so treat the current Rally Bar 2 and Microsoft instructions as authoritative for the screens you see.
If the wizard rejects the account, stop and verify the account name, password, licensing, and tenant policies rather than repeatedly guessing credentials. An account that works in a browser is not automatically configured correctly for a Teams Rooms endpoint.
4. Update and enroll the room
After sign-in, check for available CollabOS, Teams Rooms, and device updates. Apply updates according to your organization’s change policy and allow the room to restart fully. If your deployment uses Logitech Sync, enroll Rally Bar 2 and any supported room devices so administrators can see inventory, health, and update status.

5. Verify administration and meeting behavior
Confirm that the room appears in Teams administration tools and, where applicable, in the Teams Rooms Pro Management Portal. Check that the room calendar is visible, that the display shows the expected idle and meeting states, and that the controller can start or join a meeting. Make a test call and a test scheduled meeting. Verify camera framing, microphone pickup, speaker output, display sharing, mute controls, and the ability to leave the meeting and return to the room home screen.
Set up Zoom Rooms Appliance
1. Confirm Zoom account and licensing prerequisites
Zoom’s setup requirements include a Zoom Rooms license, an account role with access to Zoom Rooms in the web portal, and a compatible appliance. Confirm all three before installing. A user who can join a normal Zoom meeting may not have the administrative role required to create and activate a Zoom Room.
In the Zoom web portal, establish the location and room record that will represent the physical space. Use a naming convention that lets support staff identify the building, floor, and room without relying on the device serial number.

- What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (7-in-1), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
2. Prepare network, firewall, and proxy access
Zoom advises room planners to prepare the network and configure firewall or proxy access for Zoom services. Apply those rules to the network segment used by the appliance and controller. If a proxy is required, confirm that the room device supports the intended configuration and that authentication will not interrupt background updates or meeting connectivity.
Test outbound access before blaming the camera or display for an activation failure. A room can show a local image while still being unable to authenticate with Zoom or download updates.
3. Install and activate the room appliance
Use the Rally Bar 2-specific installation guide for power, display, Ethernet, and any controller connections. Start the Zoom Rooms Appliance setup on the room device, select the correct region and network, and follow the activation or sign-in method shown by Zoom. The exact activation screen depends on the account and software release; use the current Zoom and Logitech instructions rather than an older screenshot.
4. Pair the controller and update software
Zoom’s room setup sequence includes connecting a controller, activating or signing in, and checking for hardware and application updates. Pair the controller only after both devices are on the intended network. Confirm that the room name shown on the controller matches the room record in the portal, then apply updates and allow all required restarts.
5. Run functional tests
From the controller, start an instant meeting, join a scheduled meeting, mute and unmute, change the camera state, and end the meeting. Place a test call to another device and check that remote participants can hear speech from all intended seating positions. Test content sharing if the room design includes it. A room is not ready merely because activation succeeded; it must complete a meeting without an administrator standing beside it.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsUse Teams Rooms on Windows when the room PC is the system host
In a Teams Rooms on Windows design, the room application runs on a dedicated Windows room computer and Rally Bar 2 is connected as the audiovisual hardware where the exact combination is supported. This differs from an Android appliance: the computer, Windows configuration, Teams Rooms software, and peripherals become part of the room system’s support boundary.
Before purchase or installation, confirm the precise Rally Bar 2 compatibility entry, the supported computer model, the operating-system and Teams Rooms requirements, and the intended display and controller peripherals. Logitech’s compatibility matrix includes a Windows entry, but the matrix alone does not define every computer, cable, or peripheral combination.

Recommended Windows deployment order
- Prepare the Windows room computer according to your organization’s Teams Rooms deployment standard.
- Create and license the room resource account, then verify that its sign-in policy allows the room system to authenticate.
- Install Rally Bar 2 and the displays using the model-specific Logitech guide.
- Connect Rally Bar 2 to the room computer using the ports and USB behavior documented for that exact mode.
- Install or update the supported Teams Rooms application and device components.
- Sign in with the room resource account, confirm that camera, microphone, speaker, and display devices are selected correctly, and run test meetings.
- Enroll the computer and Rally Bar 2 in the management tools your organization uses, including Logitech Sync where supported.
Do not assume that an appliance-mode cable arrangement will work unchanged with a Windows host. The host computer changes which device runs the room application and can change how USB, display, and controller connections are handled.
Plan for a room controller
A controller is a room component, not an optional convenience if users need to start meetings, browse the calendar, mute participants, or control the camera without touching the bar. Confirm whether your Rally Bar 2 bundle includes a controller. If it does not, select a controller that is documented as compatible with the chosen platform and mode.
Quick wins for a faster PC:

The controller and room device must be able to communicate over the expected network. After CollabOS setup, signing in to the service-provider account on each device may be required. Follow the current Tap IP and Rally Bar 2 instructions for the exact pairing sequence and account prompts.
- Put the controller and room device on the intended production network, not a temporary installer hotspot.
- Check that both devices have completed their software updates before pairing.
- Use the room identity for the platform, not an installer’s personal account, when the setup asks for provider sign-in.
- After pairing, verify calendar display, join controls, mute, camera controls, and meeting termination.
Network and identity checks that prevent most failures
Account failures
For Teams, verify that the physical room has its own resource account, that the account password is current, and that the required Microsoft licensing and Exchange settings are present. For Zoom, verify the Zoom Rooms license, the installer’s portal permissions, and the room record. Keep platform identities separate: a Teams room account is not a substitute for a Zoom Rooms activation.
Network failures
Confirm that the bar and controller receive addresses on the intended network, resolve required names, reach the platform services, and are not blocked by a proxy or firewall rule. Local video on the display proves only that the hardware is powered; it does not prove that cloud sign-in, calendar synchronization, updates, or meetings will work.
Display and peripheral failures
If the display is blank, verify power, the input selected on the display, and the cable path specified by the Rally Bar 2 guide. If the camera, microphone, or speaker is missing on a Windows host, check the host’s selected devices and the documented connection mode before reinstalling software. Avoid moving cables between ports based on an older Rally Bar diagram.
Validation checklist before handing over the room
| Area | Pass condition | If it fails |
|---|---|---|
| Room identity | The correct Teams resource account or Zoom Room is shown, and the calendar or room record matches the physical space. | Recheck account, password, license, tenant policy, or Zoom portal permissions. |
| Platform sign-in | The room reaches its idle screen without repeated authentication prompts. | Check network access, time and region settings, credentials, and account status. |
| Controller | The controller shows the same room and can join, mute, control the camera, and end meetings. | Check network reachability, pairing state, provider sign-in, and software versions. |
| Camera | Remote participants see the intended room view and camera controls respond. | Check lens obstruction, selected device, privacy state, and platform permissions. |
| Audio | Speech is intelligible from expected seating positions and the room hears remote participants. | Check microphone and speaker selection, mute state, placement, and room acoustics. |
| Display and sharing | Meeting content appears on the intended display and sharing works through the planned path. | Check display input, cable path, host selection, and the platform’s sharing permissions. |
| Updates and monitoring | Required device and application updates are applied, and administrators can see the room in the chosen management tools. | Check enrollment, update policy, network access, and administrator permissions. |
Troubleshoot by symptom
The bar powers on but the setup cannot sign in
First identify which platform is being configured. For Teams, verify the room resource account and its Microsoft 365/Exchange configuration. For Zoom, verify the Zoom Rooms license, portal role, and room activation method. Then check DNS, firewall, proxy, and system time. Repeatedly entering the same password will not fix a blocked service connection or an account without the required room license.

The controller cannot find Rally Bar 2
Confirm that both devices are on the same intended network and that client isolation is not preventing discovery. Finish updates on both devices, restart them if the platform documentation recommends it, and repeat the documented pairing process. If the controller was moved from a staging network, remove the old pairing and pair it to the production room identity.
Remote participants cannot hear the room
Check the platform’s selected microphone, mute state, and any physical privacy control. On a Windows deployment, confirm that Rally Bar 2 is the selected input on the room computer and in Teams Rooms. Test from several seating positions; a microphone can work at the bar while still failing to cover the table layout.
The room shows video but meetings fail
This symptom usually separates local hardware from service connectivity. Check platform authentication, calendar synchronization, firewall or proxy rules, and software updates. Run both an instant test call and a scheduled meeting. A successful local camera preview does not validate cloud sign-in or meeting transport.
The display is blank or shows the wrong source
Verify display power and input selection, then retrace the cable path against the Rally Bar 2-specific guide. If a Windows room computer is present, confirm that the computer recognizes the display and that the room application is using the intended output. Do not substitute a cable map from another Rally Bar model.
Manage updates and support after deployment
Assign clear ownership for room accounts, device firmware, platform updates, network changes, and physical support. Logitech Sync can provide device enrollment and administration where supported. Teams administrators should monitor room visibility in Teams administration tools and the Teams Rooms Pro Management Portal when applicable. Zoom administrators should monitor room activation, controller status, and update state in the Zoom Rooms portal.
Schedule updates outside expected meeting windows, document the installed release and room mode, and keep the model-specific Rally Bar 2 guide with the room’s support record. When replacing a display, controller, room computer, or network segment, retest the complete meeting path rather than only the changed component.
Which configuration should you choose?
Choose Teams Rooms on Android when the organization wants Teams to run directly on a supported appliance and already operates room identities and administration in Microsoft 365. Choose Zoom Rooms Appliance when Zoom is the room platform and the account has the required Zoom Rooms license and portal administration. Choose Teams Rooms on Windows when your deployment standard requires a dedicated Windows room computer or its management model.

The practical decision rests on where the application runs, which platform owns scheduling, how accounts and licenses are provisioned, how the controller and network are managed, and which team will maintain updates. Verify the current compatibility matrix and the exact Rally Bar 2 documentation immediately before installation, because certification, supported software, port behavior, and regional product details can change.
What the Logitech appliance model means
Logitech’s CollabOS overview describes the appliance approach this way: “Run video conferencing services like Microsoft Teams Rooms on Android or Zoom Rooms directly on the appliance.” In practical terms, the room bar is the host for the supported room application rather than merely a USB camera and speaker attached to another computer. That distinction affects account setup, update ownership, controller pairing, and troubleshooting.
Once the platform, identity, network, and physical installation have been validated, the room should be tested from the user’s point of view: walk in, see the scheduled meeting, join from the controller, conduct a two-way conversation, share content if required, and end the meeting cleanly. That complete path—not just a powered display or a successful sign-in—is the acceptance test for Rally Bar 2.
