To stream a prerecorded Tamil meditation video continuously on YouTube, use FFmpeg to loop the file at real-time speed, encode it to YouTube’s supported settings, and send it to the RTMPS ingest address and stream key from YouTube Studio. The configuration below is a starting point—not a guarantee of uninterrupted playback. YouTube does not specify a separate encoder setup for Tamil content; the same video and audio guidance applies regardless of language.
Choose a resolution and bitrate
Match the video bitrate to the stream’s resolution and frame rate. YouTube’s current live encoder settings list these H.264 figures for 30 fps:

These are YouTube’s recommended encoder settings, not a promise of good results over an unstable connection. The example command below uses 1080p30 at 5 Mbps—the listed minimum, not the recommended 14 Mbps. For 720p30, use the corresponding bitrate values instead. YouTube recommends a two-second keyframe interval and says it should not exceed four seconds. For audio, its stereo guidance is 44.1 kHz and 128 kbps; test your actual meditation mix and monitor stream health.

YouTube’s encoder settings guidance also recommends RTMPS for encrypted delivery. FFmpeg’s output must use the ingest address and stream name supplied for your broadcast.
Prepare YouTube Live and protect the stream key
- Open YouTube Studio and set up the live stream in Live Control Room. Complete any channel eligibility or verification steps YouTube presents for your account.
- Copy the RTMPS ingest URL and stream key shown for the stream. The destination and key come from YouTube; do not publish the key, put it in a public script, or share it in screenshots.
- Use the primary ingest destination for the command below. YouTube’s API documents primary and backup ingest addresses, but a single-output FFmpeg command does not automatically fail over to the backup address. A backup is a separate optional destination requiring an appropriately configured workflow.
YouTube’s API exposes stream health and optional backup-ingestion fields. RTMPS uses SSL/TLS on port 443; encoder implementations need the hostname for SNI-based authentication. This illustrative template assumes a prerecorded file containing both video and audio, a 30 fps output, and 1080p30 at YouTube’s listed minimum video bitrate. Replace the filename and endpoint/key placeholders with your own values. It has not been run or tested here.

What the main options do
-rereads the file at approximately real-time speed instead of sending it as fast as the machine can encode it.-stream_loop -1requests that FFmpeg repeat the input indefinitely.-map 0:v:0 -map 0:a:0selects the first video and first audio stream. The input must contain both. If it has no audio, add an intentional audio track, such as a suitable silence source, and map that track; do not assume a silent-video setup will work without testing.-c:v libx264selects H.264 encoding.-pix_fmt yuv420psets a commonly compatible pixel format. Check that your installed FFmpeg build includes the required encoder.-r 30sets 30 frames per second. At that frame rate,-g 60requests a 60-frame GOP, or two seconds.-keyint_min 60and-sc_threshold 0make the example’s keyframe cadence more consistent; confirm the behavior of the installed FFmpeg and libx264 build.-b:v 5000ksets the example video bitrate to 5 Mbps.-maxrate 5000kmatches the target for CBR-style rate control, and-bufsize 10000ksets the encoder buffer. These are example rate-control settings, not universal values. FFmpeg documents unlimited unsuccessful recovery attempts as the default when the maximum is zero. Choose an explicit limit if repeated failures should eventually stop the process.

Test the stream before relying on it
- Use representative footage and audio: include the actual Tamil meditation track, motion, transitions, and any sections that might expose a problem.
- Start FFmpeg and check that YouTube Live Control Room receives the stream and displays a preview. Confirm that the audio is present and synchronized.
- Monitor YouTube’s stream health and read any messages it reports. If it detects different encoder settings or ingest trouble, adjust and test again before depending on the broadcast.
- Let the test run long enough to see whether the loop returns cleanly to the beginning and whether the connection and host remain stable.
YouTube says it detects encoder settings and transcodes live streams for viewer output formats; that does not remove the need to check ingest health. Its guidance is direct: “Make sure to test before you start your live stream.” Read the current YouTube encoder settings and troubleshooting guidance.

What recovery can—and cannot—do
FFmpeg’s FIFO muxer can retry after certain temporary output failures while the FFmpeg process is still running. That can help with a transient network or output interruption, but it does not guarantee seamless playback. A retry cannot fix a damaged or unreadable source file, loss of host power, a terminated process, a persistent network failure, or a YouTube account or stream configuration problem. If packets are dropped when the queue overflows, viewers may see an interruption or degraded playback.
FIFO recovery also does not restart FFmpeg after the process exits. If the computer or server can restart, use an operating-system process supervisor to launch and monitor FFmpeg, and separately watch YouTube’s stream health. A supervisor, redundant host, dependable power, and network redundancy are operational choices; none is an uninterrupted-service guarantee.

Troubleshoot common failures

Check rights and YouTube policy before looping
Having a meditation video or Tamil audio file does not by itself establish permission to stream it. Use recordings and visuals you created or are licensed to broadcast, including music, artwork, footage, and any samples. Review YouTube’s copyright and live-stream rules, and do not assume that looping prerecorded material will qualify for monetization or satisfy every channel policy. FFmpeg settings cannot resolve rights or account-policy issues.
