To finish the Caltheris Temple laser puzzle in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Zombies, aim the repaired Nexus Forge beam into Caltheris’s mouth, complete the Main Chamber offering and laser lockdown, then launch a purple orb into Caltheris’s head. During rain, hit its forehead with Astral Flame; a lightning strike confirms the cleanse.
What you need before starting
This sequence depends on several items and earlier quest steps. The blue well in Veytharion’s Sanctuary must already be open from the Veytharion puzzle.

- A repaired Nexus Forge, using the Void Talon.
- The Void Claw, which pulls purple orbs.
- A Pack-a-Punched Warden’s Blight for charged shots.
- Astral Flame.
- The Shimmering Thread offering.
- A Titan Trap at Caltheris’s Passage.
- Access to the blue well in Veytharion’s Sanctuary.
How the two laser alignments differ
The sequence has two separate beam tasks. First, the cranks around Pack-a-Punch turn the Nexus Forge monoliths until its beam enters Caltheris’s mouth. Later, a dial inside Caltheris’s Main Chamber focuses a different beam on a northeast wall mark. Completing the first alignment does not complete the chamber puzzle.

Aim the Nexus Forge beam at Caltheris
- Find the three cranks on pillars around Pack-a-Punch.
- Interact with the outer, middle, and inner cranks until the monoliths face Caltheris’s Sanctuary. Use the lever beneath the machine to reverse crank rotation if the current direction is working against the alignment.
- Watch the beam rather than counting interactions: there is no fixed number of pulls. This stage is aligned when the beam leaves the forge and enters Caltheris’s mouth.
Complete the Shimmering Thread offering
- Use the Void Claw to pull down purple orbs, then interact with them until the Shimmering Thread appears. It is a random reward, so it may take more than one orb.
- Place the Shimmering Thread in the brazier in Caltheris’s Main Chamber.
- At Pack-a-Punch, pull a fresh purple orb into the machine and turn the wheels promptly to make Astral Flame.
- Use Astral Flame on the brazier. A nearby zombie becomes mist-infected.
- Lead that zombie to the Titan Trap at Caltheris’s Passage and kill it with the trap. Caltheris speaks a quote if the offering step registered.
Raise and focus the Main Chamber dial
- Find the stone tablet on the Main Chamber floor, facing east toward the brazier.
- Interact with the tablet, stand on it, and keep aiming down sights until the dial appears.
- Fire a charged Warden’s Blight shot to raise the dial.
- Shoot the middle ring to adjust the beam. Aim for the northeast wall, just to the right of the blue crystal; the outer ring sends the beam too far.
Feed the beam, break the wall, and finish the lockdown
- Kill zombies directly beneath the raised dial so their souls feed the beam. Continue until the focused section of wall breaks and reveals a statue.
- Shoot the statue to start the lockdown.
- Kill all four Shadow Souls. Light Mend and Warden’s Blight can dispatch them faster, though any weapon works.
- Shoot the statue again after all four souls are dead to finish the lockdown.
Launch the orb and cleanse Caltheris during rain
- Use the Void Claw to pull a purple orb to the stairs at Caltheris’s Passage.
- Fire a charged Warden’s Blight shot at the orb to launch it into Caltheris’s head. A purple glow confirms it landed.
- If it is not raining, activate the blue well in Veytharion’s Sanctuary. Rain begins on the following round, not immediately.
- While it is raining, shoot Caltheris’s forehead with Astral Flame. A lightning strike is the completion cue.
Troubleshooting by confirmation cue
- The Nexus Forge beam does not enter Caltheris’s mouth: Recheck the outer, middle, and inner cranks, and use the floor lever to reverse their rotation if needed.
- Caltheris does not speak after the offering: Verify that you placed the Shimmering Thread, lit the brazier with Astral Flame, and killed the mist-infected zombie with the Titan Trap.
- The dial does not appear: Stay on the tablet and keep aiming down sights until the reveal completes.
- The wall does not break: Recheck that the beam lands just right of the blue crystal on the northeast wall, then kill zombies beneath the raised dial to feed it.
- The lockdown remains active: Confirm all four Shadow Souls are dead, then shoot the statue again.
- Caltheris’s head does not glow purple: Pull the orb to the Passage stairs and launch it with a charged Warden’s Blight shot.
- Astral Flame does not trigger the cleanse: Wait for the rainy round and make sure the shot hits Caltheris’s forehead.
