The exact menu wording can change between builds, so treat the current quest description as the authority. For planning several missions, record each quest’s map, landmark, item requirement, prerequisite, one-round condition, extraction requirement and reward in a checklist.
There is no reliable single number for how many quests exist. PC Gamer reported 100 quests with the Riven Tides update in 2026, Arc Raiders AI listed 103, and MetaForge listed 122 when their pages were captured. Those figures were published or displayed at different times and may count different content. Use the live quest list on your account to determine what is actually available to your Raider.

How quest tracking works in ARC Raiders
Quest progress has two useful views: the persistent quest log and the temporary objective display during a raid. An independent guide describes accepted quests as being listed in the logbook, with the current objective shown on the HUD after you enter a raid. Because interface labels are subject to updates, look for the current build’s equivalent of the quest log, active quest and objective-progress indicators rather than relying on an old button name.

- Open the quest or logbook screen from the main interface.
- Review the quests currently accepted by your Raider. Separate available missions from locked or unavailable entries.
- Select the quest you intend to advance and read every line of its description. Note the map, named point of interest, verb used by the objective, item quantity, prerequisite and any wording such as “in one round.”
- Check whether the quest ends with extraction, an interaction, or a turn-in after the raid. A completed action in the field is not necessarily the same as handing the quest in.
- Before launching, copy the requirements into a short route checklist so you do not confuse optional actions with the steps required for completion.
Check the HUD inside the raid
Once deployed, the active objective display is the fastest way to confirm that an interaction, pickup, scan or machine-related action registered. Keep the quest wording visible when you approach a landmark. If the counter does not change, stop and reread the verb: “ping,” “find,” “carry,” “destroy,” “interact” and “extract” are different conditions.

Confirm completion after the raid
After the required field actions, return to the quest log. Some missions require a successful extraction before the progress is saved, while others require a separate turn-in or conversation. Do not assume that reaching the numerical target completes the whole quest until the log marks the objective or mission as complete.
What ARC Raiders quest objectives ask you to do
PC Gamer’s quest coverage groups missions around travel, item collection, interactions and combat against specified ARC machines. The table below turns those broad patterns into a route-planning checklist.

When a landmark is ambiguous, write down the recognized map name and a nearby named location. That gives you a navigation reference even if the prose description uses a directional phrase rather than a map label.

Prerequisites, chains and one-round conditions
Check for locked missions before planning a route
Some newer missions are gated behind earlier quests. PC Gamer specifically warns that certain missions cannot be started until preceding missions are finished. If a quest is greyed out or absent, check the earlier entries in the chain rather than treating it as missing content. Record the prerequisite in your checklist so you know why it is unavailable.

Read the scope of “one round” literally
A quest that requires all steps in one round is a different planning problem from a quest that merely asks for cumulative progress. Put every required action on one route, allow time for detours and combat, and leave enough margin to reach extraction. If the description does not state a one-round requirement, do not assume that it exists; verify the wording in the current quest card.
Separate required and optional objectives
Guides may mention extra loot, kills or extraction goals alongside the core mission. Mark those as optional in your notes. Optional actions can improve a run, but they should not replace the required objective or make you believe a quest is complete when its mandatory step is still outstanding.
A repeatable route-planning method for every available quest
Build a quest record
For each quest shown in your current log, create one record with the fields below. “Not stated” is better than guessing when a guide or the game has not supplied a value.

Group missions by map
- List all unlocked quests and sort them by map.
- Within a map, order objectives geographically: nearby landmarks first, then targets that require a longer crossing, and extraction last.
- Put one-round quests at the top of the route because abandoning the map early can waste every step completed in that run.
- Check item quantities and carry space before deployment. If a quest requires an item to reach a later turn-in, plan how you will protect it without assuming a universal retention rule; no such rule is established for every quest.
- Mark optional kills or bonus pickups separately so they do not cause you to miss the extraction window.
Use the HUD as a live checklist
At each stop, pause long enough for the objective counter or completion message to update. If the quest asks you to ping a machine, perform the ping rather than simply damaging it. If it asks you to follow a route, move through the named sequence instead of jumping directly to the destination. This discipline prevents a successful-looking run from failing because one interaction was skipped.

Finish the administrative step
After extraction, open the quest log again. Verify that the objective has advanced, then complete any available turn-in. A third-party checklist can mirror this state, but the in-game quest log remains the authoritative record for your Raider.
Verified example: Tracks of the Beast
PC Gamer’s October 9, 2026 walkthrough provides a concrete example of how to read a multi-step quest. It says all required steps for Tracks of the Beast must be completed in a single round. Recheck the spelling and conditions against the live quest card after updates.

Route the required steps
- Deploy on Pendola Pass with the quest selected.
- Navigate to the northern tracks using the map’s named locations rather than an approximate compass heading.
- Follow the tracks south in the direction of Almatera Station. Do not skip the route if the objective is still active.
- Locate and ping a Bully, then locate and ping a Skulker. Confirm each ping in the HUD before moving on.
- Complete the route and extract if the live quest description requires extraction. Reopen the log after the raid to verify completion.
Keep the optional actions separate
The same PC Gamer guide mentions destroying three Skulkers and extracting a Skulker Targeter as optional steps. They are not the core requirements listed above. Treat them as bonus goals only after the Bully and Skulker pings are registered, and do not let the optional fight jeopardize a one-round completion.
If the run fails
If one ping does not register, do not assume that a kill will substitute for it. Check the objective verb, try the interaction again with the correct machine, and use the quest log to determine whether the step is still active. If you extract before all required steps are done, start a fresh round and repeat the full sequence because the guide’s condition is single-round completion.

How many ARC Raiders quests are left?
The game does not have a publicly reconciled total in the material available for this guide. The following figures are source-reported snapshots, not official statistics and not interchangeable inventories.

The differences may reflect update timing, newly added missions or different counting rules. They cannot be averaged into a consensus. To estimate what remains for your own Raider, compare the current in-game list with a dated checklist: mark each quest as locked, available, active, completed or awaiting turn-in. If the game does not show a total, the number of unchecked entries in your dated list is only a personal planning estimate, not a global quest count.
Using third-party quest trackers without losing the authoritative record
External databases are useful for route planning, but they are supplementary. Check the current quest card in-game whenever a tracker disagrees about a name, prerequisite, reward or objective.

Manual checklist versus account sync
A manual checklist is slower to maintain but does not require linking an account. Account synchronization can reduce duplicate work across devices, yet it introduces a permission and privacy decision. Read the tracker’s current privacy terms before connecting an Embark account, and remove access if the service no longer meets your expectations. Neither a synced status nor a third-party completion badge overrides the quest state shown in the game.
Troubleshooting quest progress
The objective does not advance
- Read the exact verb again. A ping, interaction, pickup and kill are not equivalent.
- Confirm that you are on the correct map and at the named landmark, not merely nearby.
- Check the quantity requirement and whether the counter needs a particular item variant.
- Leave the area only after the HUD confirms the step.
The quest is locked or missing
Look for an earlier mission in the chain. Some missions are intentionally gated behind previous quests, so a locked entry is not evidence that the content has been removed.
You completed steps but lost the run
Read whether the quest requires all steps in one round. For a single-round mission such as Tracks of the Beast, plan the entire route again rather than assuming partial progress will carry over.
The tracker and game disagree
Use the game’s current quest description as the deciding source. Record the discrepancy, check the tracker’s update date, and avoid treating a third-party total as an official count.

Follow the specific wording of the quest card and turn-in requirement. A universal rule for retaining every quest item has not been established, so do not discard or promise to keep an item based only on a generic checklist.
Keeping a complete, current quest inventory
Live-service content changes, and the available evidence does not establish a complete authoritative objective-by-objective inventory for the October 2026 build. For a dependable personal reference, refresh your checklist whenever a patch adds missions or changes a landmark.
- Open the in-game quest list after each update.
- Copy the displayed quest name exactly and note whether the entry is locked, available, active or completed.
- Record the map, named landmark, objective verb, quantity, prerequisite, one-round condition, extraction or turn-in requirement and reward.
- Test one route in the live build, especially for new missions and any quest whose location spelling has changed.
- Date the record so an old tracker entry cannot be mistaken for the current state.
This process answers both parts of the practical question: the quest log and HUD show what your Raider is doing now, while a dated checklist grouped by map shows what remains to be planned. When totals conflict, trust the current in-game availability rather than selecting the largest or smallest third-party number.
