To complete Clean Hands in ARC Raiders, deploy to Pendola Pass, enter the underground Nomad Camp beneath the Railyard from its western side, search the yellow bag on the raised walkway, and take the Equatorial Sundial to the top of the Old Town church. Display it at the marked railing, then extract while keeping the Sundial. After you return to Speranza, use the active quest tracker to determine whether your version also requires a hand-in to the Nomadic Envoy; current walkthroughs disagree on that final condition.

What the Clean Hands quest requires

Clean Hands is the quest associated with the Railyard Nomad Camp on Pendola Pass. The camp is not a surface settlement you can simply walk into from the Railyard yard. It is underground, directly below the Railyard area, and the reliable approach described by current walkthroughs is on the west or southwest side.

The quest has a short chain of objectives, but the item-carrying portion makes the run risky. You must retrieve the Equatorial Sundial, perform a marked interaction at the Old Town church tower, and survive long enough to extract with the Sundial. Extraction may or may not be the final recorded objective in your build. The quest tracker is the authority for that last step.

Prepare before deploying to Pendola Pass

Activate Clean Hands first

Make sure Clean Hands is active before you enter a raid. The quest marker and objective text are useful for confirming that the Railyard, the Nomad Camp and the church interaction are being tracked. Deploy to Pendola Pass with the quest selected so that an objective update is not missed after you pick up the Sundial.

Leave room for the quest item

The required pickup is the Equatorial Sundial. A free inventory slot is useful when you reach the yellow bag, because the bag interaction must give you space to take the item. If your augment provides a Safe Pocket, putting the Sundial there can reduce the chance of losing it during the run. Safe Pocket protection is a risk-management option, not a stated requirement for every loadout.

Plan for a complete raid, not just a search

Finding the camp is only the first part. You still need to travel to Old Town, reach the top of the church, interact with the railing, and extract. Enter the raid with enough time and supplies to cross the map after the pickup. The sources do not establish a universal time limit or a mandatory loadout, so avoid treating any particular weapon, armor choice or augment as required.

How to find the Railyard Nomad Camp

Use the Railyard as your surface landmark

Walkthroughs place the Railyard near the center of the Pendola Pass map. The Nomad Camp is beneath it rather than in a separate, distant region. Exact map coordinates are not provided in the available guides, so orient yourself by the Railyard structure and its western or southwestern edge instead of searching for a numerical coordinate.

Look for the western pipe or tunnel

On the west side of the Railyard, search for the opening that leads underground toward the Transit Tunnel. Different guides call this opening drainage pipes, a pipe route, a tunnel or a passage. Those descriptions refer to the same practical route: descend through the western access and continue inward rather than remaining on the surface rail yard.

If you are circling rail cars and open yard space without finding a descent, you are probably on the wrong side of the landmark. Reposition toward the west or southwest perimeter and look for an enclosed passage. The camp’s raised metal walkways are the confirmation that you have reached the correct underground area.

Step-by-step: retrieve the Equatorial Sundial

  1. Deploy with Clean Hands active. Select Pendola Pass and confirm that the quest appears in your active tracker before loading into the raid.
  2. Reach the Railyard. Use the central Railyard as your surface reference. Do not expect the Nomad Camp to be marked by a separate above-ground building.
  3. Move to the western side. Check the west or southwest edge for the pipe, drainage opening or tunnel leading toward the Transit Tunnel.
  4. Follow the underground passage. Continue through the opening until it connects with the camp’s elevated metal walkways.
  5. Find the yellow quest bag. On the raised walkway, locate the yellow bag associated with the objective. Interact with it to search.
  6. Take the Equatorial Sundial. The bag contains the polluted quest item. Make sure the Sundial is in your inventory, or in a Safe Pocket if you are using that augment, before leaving the camp.

The yellow bag and raised walkway are more dependable visual cues than an exact position on the map. If you find underground pipes but no walkway, continue through the passage toward the Transit Tunnel; if you find a walkway but no yellow bag, search the connected sections rather than returning immediately to the surface.

Carry the Sundial to the Old Town church

Travel to Old Town after the pickup

Once the Sundial is secured, the objective moves away from the Railyard. Your destination is the church in Old Town. Keep the quest item with you while crossing the map; obtaining it does not complete the raid objective by itself.

Climb to the tower top

The route described by a current walkthrough uses the church’s spiral stairs and then a zipline to reach the top of the tower. Follow the church’s vertical route until you reach the upper platform. The relevant interaction is not at ground level, so leaving the church after entering it will not advance Clean Hands.

Use the marked railing

At the top, approach the railing marked by the quest objective and interact with it. The game should display the Equatorial Sundial and advance the objective. If the interaction prompt does not appear, verify that you actually have the Sundial, that you are at the tower’s upper railing rather than a lower balcony, and that Clean Hands remains selected in the tracker.

Extract without losing the Sundial

Keep the item until extraction

The Sundial must survive the extraction portion of the quest. Completing the church interaction is an objective update, not permission to abandon the item. Treat the remainder of the raid as an escort mission for the quest item and avoid unnecessary detours after the tower interaction.

Use the Pendola Pass gondola extraction

Pendola Pass walkthroughs describe a gondola-based extraction sequence. Activate the radio beacon console, locate the gondola, enter it and complete the extraction. The exact placement of the console and gondola can vary with the active extraction layout, so use the in-game extraction indicator rather than assuming one fixed location.

A Safe Pocket may protect the Sundial if your augment supports it, but the sources present that as optional advice. Follow the objective text and extraction prompt for your current loadout. If the item is outside protected storage, a failed raid can require you to repeat the retrieval route.

What to do after returning to Speranza

Check the tracker before declaring the quest complete

Current walkthroughs do not agree on whether extraction finishes Clean Hands universally. One set of guides lists extraction as the final objective, while others report a separate delivery to the Nomadic Envoy in Speranza. Because the reporting differs, do not rely on a guide’s sequence alone.

  1. Return to Speranza after the raid.
  2. Open the active quest tracker and read the remaining objective.
  3. If it says to deliver the Equatorial Sundial, find the Nomadic Envoy and hand over the item.
  4. If the tracker shows no delivery objective and marks the quest complete after extraction, no additional hand-in is indicated for that run.

This tracker check resolves the only notable discrepancy in current coverage. It also prevents you from searching Speranza for an Envoy interaction when your active objective has already closed.

Troubleshooting common failure points

You cannot locate the camp entrance

Do not search the entire map for a settlement marker. The camp is below the Railyard. Return to the Railyard landmark, move around to its western or southwestern side, and inspect the lower-looking openings for the pipe or tunnel route. The sources do not provide coordinates, so a west-side visual search is the intended navigation method.

You entered a passage but see no yellow bag

Continue toward the connected underground walkways. The quest bag is described as being on a raised walkway inside the camp, not at the first mouth of the passage. Once you are on the metal walkway, check the connected sections for the yellow bag and interact with it directly.

The bag will not give you the Sundial

Confirm that Clean Hands is active and that your inventory has room. If the interaction completes but the item is not visible, check the quest tracker and inventory before leaving the camp. A Safe Pocket can be used to protect the item after pickup, but it does not replace the bag interaction.

The church objective does not update

Make sure you have reached the tower’s top, not merely entered the church or climbed to a lower level. Use the spiral stairs and the zipline route described for the tower, then stand at the marked railing and activate the interaction. The objective depends on displaying the Sundial at that location.

You extracted but the quest still appears incomplete

Return to Speranza and read the tracker. If it names the Nomadic Envoy, deliver the Equatorial Sundial there. Some walkthroughs report that this hand-in is required, while others end the sequence at extraction; the tracker is the practical way to identify which condition applies to your run.

You lost the item before extraction

The quest requires the Sundial to survive the extraction portion. If a failed raid removes it, repeat the Pendola Pass route: western Railyard passage, underground raised walkway, yellow bag, Old Town church railing and gondola extraction. Using a Safe Pocket, when available, can reduce the risk of losing the item on a future attempt, but it is not mandatory.

Why walkthroughs describe the final step differently

Guides published around October 8–9, 2026 describe the same core route but disagree about the post-extraction hand-in. They consistently identify the underground camp below the Railyard, the western entrance, the yellow bag, the Equatorial Sundial and the Old Town church interaction. The disagreement begins only after extraction: some list delivery to the Nomadic Envoy, while others treat extraction as completion.

No official developer quest page or patch note establishing one universal hand-in condition is identified in those walkthroughs. That is why the safest instruction is conditional: keep the item through extraction, then follow the remaining text in your own tracker. Avoid treating either guide version as a guaranteed rule for every current build.

Fast completion checklist

  • Quest: Clean Hands active before deployment.
  • Map: Pendola Pass.
  • Landmark: Railyard near the map center.
  • Entrance: Western or southwestern pipe, drainage opening or tunnel toward the Transit Tunnel.
  • Pickup: Yellow bag on the Nomad Camp’s raised metal walkway.
  • Item: Equatorial Sundial secured in inventory; Safe Pocket protection is optional.
  • Next location: Old Town church tower.
  • Interaction: Display the Sundial at the marked railing at the tower top.
  • Extraction: Activate the radio beacon console, find the gondola and extract with the Sundial.
  • After extraction: Check the tracker in Speranza and visit the Nomadic Envoy only if the objective asks for delivery.

Shortest reliable route

With Clean Hands active, deploy to Pendola Pass and use the central Railyard as your landmark. Move to its west or southwest side, enter the pipe or tunnel leading toward the Transit Tunnel, and follow it to the raised metal walkways below. Search the yellow bag for the Equatorial Sundial, then travel to Old Town. Climb the church’s spiral stairs, use the zipline to reach the tower top, and interact with the marked railing. Keep the Sundial, activate the radio beacon console, board the gondola and extract. In Speranza, let the quest tracker decide whether a Nomadic Envoy hand-in remains.
