The Samsung Galaxy A36 5G stands out for its explicit six-generation Android OS and six-year security-update commitment. Price is not a clean tie-breaker: the available figures cover different dates and RAM configurations.
Price difference: compare like configurations, not just the numbers
Samsung India’s March 2025 launch price for the Galaxy A36 5G was ₹32,999 for 8GB/128GB. The vivo Official E-Store showed ₹34,999 for the T5 5G in 6GB/128GB on 2026-10-07. The arithmetic difference is ₹2,000, but it is not a like-for-like current-price comparison: the RAM differs, the prices are from different dates, and the Samsung figure is a historical launch price rather than a verified current checkout price. Samsung also listed launch prices of ₹35,999 for 8GB/256GB and ₹38,999 for 12GB/256GB. vivo’s store lists 8GB/128GB, 8GB/256GB, and 12GB/256GB options as well as the 6GB/128GB model, but the cited page does not establish current prices for those other variants. Check the exact storage tier, seller, stock, and live checkout price before deciding. Samsung notes its specifications and prices can change without notice on its Galaxy A36 product page.

Which display suits you?
The T5 5G has the larger screen at 6.83 inches and a stated resolution of 2800 × 1260 pixels. The A36 5G has a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display, with Samsung specifying brightness up to 1200 nits. On the published dimensions and resolution, vivo offers more screen area and pixels; Samsung explicitly publishes a peak-brightness figure. These specifications alone do not establish which display looks better in person or performs better outdoors.
Battery capacity and charging: what the figures do—and do not—show
vivo lists a 7050mAh typical-capacity battery and 44W FlashCharge; its stated rated capacity is 6850mAh. Samsung lists a 5000mAh battery and 45W charging. Capacity figures are not runtime tests, so they cannot prove how many hours either phone will last for a particular person. Charging wattage is a maximum supported rate, not a promise of identical real-world charging times. vivo says its up-to-44W figure applies with the official charger and cable and that actual charging power can vary by scenario. vivo India’s product page.

Camera hardware and the limits of a spec-sheet comparison
vivo lists a 50MP Sony IMX882 main rear camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), an 8MP ultra-wide rear camera, and a 32MP front camera. Its product page also advertises front and rear 4K video recording. The Samsung launch announcement cited here does not provide comparable camera details, so this evidence does not support a complete hardware comparison or a claim that one phone takes better photos. No matched independent camera tests are established by the cited sources.
Durability and software support
Water and dust resistance
Samsung specifies IP67 dust and water resistance for the A36 5G. vivo advertises IP68 and IP69 resistance for the T5 5G. These are the ratings stated by each manufacturer; they are not a guarantee against all water exposure or damage. Samsung India; vivo India.

The available official specifications do not include matched independent battery, charging, performance, or camera tests, so they do not establish a real-world winner in those areas. vivo advertises an AnTuTu score of 1,202,592 from its own laboratory test using AnTuTu Benchmark V11 on the 12GB/256GB edition; vivo says results may vary by configuration and environment. That claim is not a head-to-head benchmark against the A36 5G. vivo India.
