Compare estimated ad revenue with the livestream’s Super Chat-specific revenue in YouTube Studio for the same video and date range. Do not use RPM, total estimated revenue, or an undivided Supers total as a substitute: each can include other revenue sources or fan-funding products.
Find both figures in YouTube Studio

Open YouTube Studio, select Analytics, then open Revenue. YouTube describes estimated revenue and estimated ad revenue in its ad revenue analytics guidance.

Select the individual livestream or its replay, and set the same date range for both figures. YouTube Analytics reports video data by Video ID, so make sure the two numbers refer to the same video. See YouTube’s live-stream metrics guidance.

For the ad figure, look for Estimated ad revenue in the revenue-source breakdown. YouTube’s live monetization guidance says to use the Live filter to view the ad-revenue breakdown for livestream and replay ads. If that filter does not show revenue in the report you are using, switch to Live & on demand or another revenue report; available filters can differ by view.

For the fan-funding figure, inspect the Supers or How you make money breakdown and use the Super Chat line if it is available. YouTube may group Super Chat with Super Stickers and Super Thanks under Supers revenue; that combined total is not a Super Chat-only figure. Record the reporting view and date range alongside the figures. For a fair comparison, use the same video, dates, currency presentation, and level of detail for both amounts.
Know what each revenue label means

YouTube also distinguishes ad impressions from monetized playbacks: a playback may have more than one ad, while many views have no ad. Multiplying views by CPM therefore does not calculate a creator’s ad revenue. See YouTube’s definitions of revenue and ad metrics.

Why the amounts may differ
Ad revenue depends on delivery, not just views
Ad eligibility, monetization settings, available inventory, viewer circumstances, and whether an ad slot actually serves all affect ad earnings. YouTube states, “Ad slots are not guaranteed to serve ads.” Automatic mid-roll settings can also shape delivery: YouTube says its automatic mode may pause ads for viewers sending Supers and snooze ads during high-engagement moments. Super Chat is a viewer purchase
Super Chat is a paid message that highlights a viewer’s message in live chat. Availability depends on channel and stream eligibility and the applicable Commerce Product Module. It is a different revenue mechanism from advertising; there is no universal Super Chat-to-ad-revenue ratio.
Revenue shares describe agreement terms, not a stream forecast
YouTube’s monetization module descriptions state that the Commerce Product Module pays creators 70% of net revenues from memberships, Super Chat, Super Stickers, and Super Thanks; the Watch Page Monetization Module pays 55% of net revenues from ads displayed or streamed on public Watch Page videos. Those agreement rates do not predict which source will earn more on an individual livestream.

Allow for later adjustments
Revenue shown shortly after a stream is an estimate, not necessarily a final amount. YouTube says monthly estimated revenue can be adjusted after about a week and again in the middle of the following month. Adjustments can reflect invalid traffic, Content ID claims or disputes, and certain campaign types. When comparing a recent stream, label the numbers as estimates and revisit them after YouTube’s adjustment periods. See YouTube’s partner earnings overview.

Comparing values from different videos, date ranges, or report views.

Using RPM to infer either source’s earnings, or comparing CPM directly with creator revenue.
