Use Chrome DevTools to capture either the visible viewport or the full page, then inspect the saved images side by side or with an image-diff viewer.
Set up matching captures in Chrome
- Open the first version of the Hindi website in Chrome. Note the page URL, date, and state that could affect its appearance, such as an open menu or dismissed banner.
- Open DevTools, then enable the Device Toolbar. Set the viewport to a specific width and height. Use the same dimensions for the second capture. See Chrome’s device mode documentation for the available controls.
- Set the Device Toolbar’s DPR and keep it unchanged between captures. DPR is the ratio between physical screen pixels and logical CSS pixels; it affects how Chrome draws CSS pixels on high-DPI displays.
- From the Device Toolbar’s More options menu, choose Capture screenshot to capture the visible viewport, or Capture a full size screenshot to capture page content beyond the viewport. Use the same command for both versions.
- Repeat the setup for the second version and save both images. Keep the Chrome and Windows environment and page state consistent where possible.
Choose viewport or full-page capture
- Visible viewport: Choose Capture screenshot when you only need to compare what is currently shown on screen.
- Entire page: Choose Capture a full size screenshot if a change might be below the fold.
- Windows screen capture: Windows capture tools can grab a selected desktop area or screen, but that framing is different from a browser page capture. For a website comparison, DevTools makes it easier to keep the browser capture dimensions consistent.
Inspect the two images
Open the saved files in an image viewer and compare them side by side. If your chosen software supports a translucent overlay or pixel-difference view, those modes can help reveal where the images differ. Chrome’s cited DevTools documentation describes capture controls, not a built-in image-diff viewer, so use a separate application if you need those comparison modes.

Review Hindi text areas closely. If glyphs look different, note the visible difference, but do not assume its cause is a font, fallback, or shaping issue based on the screenshot alone. Check the site’s font loading and Windows font environment before drawing that conclusion.

Keep the comparison meaningful
Viewport dimensions can affect responsive layout and text wrapping; DPR affects rendering and screenshot dimensions. Matching these settings, along with page state and capture type, reduces avoidable differences. It does not guarantee pixel-identical results across different machines, Chrome versions, font installations, or Windows display settings.

- Record the URL and capture date for each image.
- Keep viewport width, height, and DPR the same.
- Match page state, including menus or other visible overlays.
- Use the same capture type for both images.
- When possible, use the same computer and browser environment.
Troubleshoot common mismatches
The images have different dimensions
Check that the viewport width and height, DPR, and capture type match. A viewport capture and a full-page capture are not equivalent.
Text wraps differently
Confirm that the viewport dimensions are identical and that the page is in the same state. Different machines or font environments can also affect rendering; the screenshot alone does not establish which factor caused the change.

Hindi glyphs look different
Record which text looks different, then inspect whether the page’s fonts loaded and whether the Windows font environment differs between captures. The DevTools capture guidance does not diagnose Hindi shaping or font fallback issues.
The page appears blank or incomplete
Check that the page finished loading and that both captures were taken in the same state. If the content depends on scrolling or interaction, reproduce those steps before capturing.

ScreenshotNeo can take a website screenshot with one GET request. Its capture process accepts cookie or consent banners like a visitor and removes more than 60 known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets; each step can be turned off. Bot checks or CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits are not billed, and responses identify the page verdict and billing status in headers. ScreenshotNeo also has an MCP server with screenshot tools for AI agents.
For a repeatable comparison, send the same target URL and matching capture settings for each version. The following cURL request saves a WebP screenshot:
curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp
See the ScreenshotNeo API documentation for capture options and how to configure the request for your page. The free plan includes 1,000 screenshots per month without a card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000 screenshots. Sign up for the free plan.
