Start with the selfie you actually take: solo portraits, group shots, or front-camera video. Then compare field of view, focus, video stabilization and modes—not just megapixels. For India-market models, OPPO’s F33 Pro 5G is the group-framing option on paper, while the standard F33 5G has a different, lower-resolution front-camera specification. Neither specification alone proves which phone takes better-looking selfies.
Choose the selfie job before comparing models
A phone that fits more people into a frame may suit group photos better than one with a higher-resolution selfie camera. A solo-portrait buyer may care more about focus, exposure and portrait processing; someone who records clips should check front-camera video modes and stabilization.

- Solo portraits: Check focus type, portrait options, exposure and skin-tone rendering.
- Group selfies: Check the front camera’s field of view, any automatic widening, and how faces near the edges look.
- Selfie video: Compare supported resolutions and frame rates, stabilization, and recording limits.
For every model, distinguish manufacturer-listed hardware and modes from evidence of image quality. A specification page cannot establish that one phone produces more natural skin tones, better HDR or cleaner low-light images than another.

OPPO India announced the F33 series on 15 April 2026. Its launch announcement lists a 50MP ultra-wide front camera with a 100° field of view for the F33 Pro 5G, and a 16MP front camera for the F33 5G. Do not apply the Pro’s ultra-wide specification to the standard model. OPPO’s F33 series launch announcement describes automatic widening for group selfies; the F33 Pro product page provides product details.

OPPO calls the Pro a “Group Selfie Expert.” In the launch announcement, Goldee Patnaik, Head of Communications, OPPO India, described its camera as a “segment-best 50MP Ultra-Wide Selfie Camera with 100° FOV and a suite of AI imaging features.” That is OPPO’s promotional claim, not an independent comparative test.

What to check beyond megapixels
Field of view and edge faces
A wider view can include more people without moving the phone farther away, but that is only one part of the result. Look at sample group shots for stretched or distorted faces near the frame edges, and check whether a phone switches to a wider view automatically or requires a separate mode.

Focus and still-photo modes
Check whether the front camera uses autofocus or fixed focus, whether portrait mode is available, and which HDR or low-light options apply to the front camera. Also check whether the headline resolution requires a special setting: vivo, for example, qualifies the V50e’s 50MP output as High Resolution mode rather than implying every mode saves images at that resolution.
Video and stabilization
Look for front-camera video resolution, frame rates, stabilization support and any recording restrictions. The manufacturer sources cited here do not give a complete, equally detailed video comparison across all these phones, so a missing specification should not be treated as proof that a feature is absent. Confirm it in the exact model’s manual or settings, or in a test that identifies its recording conditions.

Processing and natural-looking results
Skin tone, exposure, HDR, retouching and portrait cutouts are difficult to judge from a specification list. Compare same-scene samples or independent tests that explain their method. Prefer examples in the lighting you use—such as indoor gatherings or backlit outdoor shots—and check whether beauty effects are enabled.
Compare the whole phone and the price you can actually buy
Selfie hardware matters only alongside the phone’s everyday trade-offs. Compare the exact storage variant and current local price, then weigh screen, battery, charging, durability, software support, size and weight against your priorities. Verify stock and regional specifications at the seller or manufacturer; an India-market launch announcement does not establish current retail pricing or availability.

Quick Recap
A practical comparison checklist
- Set your priority: decide whether you mainly take solo portraits, group selfies or front-camera video.
- Match the feature to the task: for groups, check field of view and edge distortion; for portraits, focus and processing; for video, resolution, frame rate and stabilization.
- Confirm the exact model: distinguish the F33 Pro 5G from the F33 5G, and verify market and storage variant.
- Compare real samples: use similar scenes and lighting, or independent tests that explain their method; do not treat megapixels as a quality score.
- Check the current deal and the rest of the phone: compare live local price and stock alongside the screen, battery, charging, durability, software support and size.
