The Eagles’ unofficial depth chart lists DeVonta Smith first at one receiver spot, Makai Lemon first at another, and Dontayvion Wicks first at a third, with Elijah Moore behind Lemon. That is a useful role snapshot—not proof of playing time, targets, or fantasy value. Lemon’s NFL sample is only two games and four targets, so it is too small to establish a dependable fantasy tier.
What the Eagles’ depth chart tells you—and what it doesn’t
Philadelphia’s unofficial depth chart places Smith, Lemon, and Wicks first at separate receiver positions. Moore is listed behind Lemon. The team explicitly calls the chart unofficial, so use it as an indicator of the current listed order rather than a forecast of snaps, routes, or targets.

Ourlads’ chart, updated October 3, 2026, also lists Lemon first at slot receiver, with Moore and Britain Covey behind him. That supports the slot-role description, but a secondary depth chart does not establish a fantasy workload.

How Lemon compares with Smith right now
Smith has the stronger established production context: Philadelphia’s July 8, 2026 training-camp preview describes him as the roster’s most productive receiver. That distinction reflects the team’s reported context, not a quantified projection for the 2026 season.

Lemon brings significant credentials, but they answer a different question. Philadelphia selected him 20th overall in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft, and the team says he won the Fred Biletnikoff Award for the 2025 season as college football’s most outstanding receiver. Those facts establish draft investment and college achievement; they do not show that he will outscore Smith in the NFL.
The team’s initial 2026 roster includes Hollywood Brown, Smith, Lemon, Wicks, Moore, and Darius Cooper. The Eagles’ preview also reports that A.J. Brown departed for the Patriots in the offseason. The changed receiver group makes opportunity worth monitoring, but those roster facts do not quantify how targets will be distributed.

Read Lemon’s early NFL production cautiously
NFL.com’s early-season 2026 line for Lemon was two games, four targets, two receptions, 14 receiving yards, and zero receiving touchdowns. It is a retrieval-time snapshot that can change during the season—not a meaningful basis for projecting a full-year pace or declaring a fantasy tier.

The zero touchdowns in that sample likewise do not establish his future scoring involvement.

Compare Eagles receivers using your league’s scoring and the same window
There is no universal answer to whether Lemon is a better fantasy option than Smith. The answer depends on league scoring and current opportunity, and the available information does not provide comparable usage totals or league-specific projections for every Eagles receiver. Before setting a lineup or making a waiver decision, compare the same recent period for each player and use your league’s scoring rules.
- Targets and routes: Check how often each receiver is involved and whether he is getting opportunities on the field. A depth-chart label alone cannot substitute for usage data.
- Receiving production: Compare receptions and yards over the same number of games or the same date range. Avoid comparing one player’s recent stretch with another player’s full-season total.
- Touchdown involvement: Review receiving touchdowns over that same window, while recognizing that a short stretch can be volatile.
- Role stability: Look for whether a player’s role persists across games, rather than treating a listed position or a single week as conclusive.
- Scoring format: Apply your league’s reception and yardage scoring, plus any bonuses or other rules, to the same player statistics. A comparison can change when the format changes.
Because comparable current targets, routes, and projections for the full receiver group are not established here, this evidence does not support an exact rest-of-season ranking or a confident start/sit call between Lemon and another Eagle.
What to watch as the season develops
Revisit the comparison as more games provide a usable sample. The most helpful update is consistent usage—targets and routes—considered with production and touchdown involvement over the same measurement window for Smith, Lemon, Wicks, Moore, and the other active receivers. Treat any depth-chart change as supporting context, not as a substitute for evidence of actual workload.
