To compare Galaxy phones, treat battery capacity as a specification—not a runtime guarantee—and compare performance in the tasks you actually do. Check the exact regional models, then weigh like-for-like battery tests, sustained workload results, display demands, and charging details together. Samsung’s published S26 playback figures are manufacturer estimates, not an independent battery-life ranking.
How to compare Galaxy phones fairly
Start with the exact models and configurations sold in your country. Samsung says processor type and availability can vary by market or carrier, so a model name alone may not identify the same hardware everywhere. Record the source and test conditions for every runtime or performance figure you compare.

- Match the models and region. Confirm the model, market, carrier, processor, and memory configuration before comparing results.
- Separate capacity from runtime. Note typical capacity in mAh, but do not treat it as hours of use.
- Compare equivalent battery tests. Prefer tests using similar brightness, network conditions, settings, and workloads. If protocols differ, do not rank their runtime numbers as though they were measured on equal terms.
- Match performance evidence to your use. Look for responsiveness and multitasking results, plus sustained gaming or workload tests if those matter to you. A processor name or peak benchmark alone does not establish how a phone will perform during a long session.
- Include the display and charging setup. Compare screen size, resolution, refresh behavior, charging support, and whether a compatible adapter is included or sold separately.
Keep the comparison in a small table so each figure retains its source and qualification. Useful rows include capacity, runtime test and protocol, processor and RAM, display, charging, and results for the workloads you care about.

Samsung UK’s 2026 S26/S25 comparison lists these typical capacities and maximum video-playback estimates. The playback figures are Samsung claims, not independent same-protocol test results.

| Model | Typical capacity | Samsung-reported video playback | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Galaxy S26 | 4,300 mAh | Up to 30 hours | Samsung UK, 2026 |
| Galaxy S26+ | 4,900 mAh | Up to 31 hours | Samsung UK, 2026 |
| Galaxy S26 Ultra | 5,000 mAh | Up to 31 hours | Samsung UK, 2026 |
These figures are useful as manufacturer reference points, but they cannot tell you which phone will last longest under your mix of gaming, navigation, camera recording, mobile data, or background apps. Samsung’s US launch announcement cautions that actual battery life varies with network environment, features and apps used, call and message frequency, charge history, and other factors.
Capacity comparisons also show why a newer generation does not automatically mean a larger battery. In Samsung UK’s comparison, the S26 is listed at 4,300 mAh versus 4,000 mAh for the S25; the S26+ and S25+ are both 4,900 mAh; and the S26 Ultra and S25 Ultra are both 5,000 mAh. Those are typical-capacity specifications, not runtime rankings.

- Please note, this device does not support E-SIM; This 4G model is compatible with all GSM networks worldwide outside of the U.S. In the US, ONLY compatible with T-Mobile and their MVNO's (Metro and Standup). It will NOT work with other CDMA carriers, and it is also not compatible with their MVNO (Visible, Xfinity Mobile, US Mobile, Cricket Wireless, etc).
- Compatibility with certain third-party devices and accessibility accessories, including some hearing aids, may vary depending on manufacturer support, Bluetooth protocols, software compatibility, and regional firmware limitations. For additional hearing aid compatibility information, please refer to Samsung’s official support documentation.
- Camera: 50 MP, f/1.8, (wide), 1/2.76", 0.64µm, AF | 50 MP, f/1.8, (wide), 1/2.76", 0.64µm, AF | 2 MP, f/2.4, (macro). Battery: 5000 mAh, non-removable | A power adapter is NOT included.
Which Galaxy phone has the best battery life?
There is no universal winner established by the cited current-model figures. Samsung’s maximum video-playback estimates put the S26+ and S26 Ultra at up to 31 hours and the S26 at up to 30 hours, but those are vendor estimates rather than a standardized independent comparison. For your own choice, seek independent tests that use the same protocol and resemble your use; heavy camera, gaming, navigation, or mobile-data use can produce a different result from video playback.
Samsung Canada’s typical-capacity table also lists S24 and S25 family values alongside S26 models, but capacity alone cannot establish which has better real-world endurance. The relevant comparison is measured runtime under comparable conditions, with screen settings and workload accounted for.

What affects Galaxy battery consumption?
Battery runtime is an outcome of hardware, software, settings, battery age, temperature, network conditions, and workload—not just battery size. Samsung Canada identifies usage, age, and temperature as factors, and notes that maximum brightness, larger or higher-resolution screens, and higher refresh rates can increase power demand. Camera use, demanding video recording, and background apps can also drain charge.
- Display: A brighter, larger, higher-resolution screen can use more power. High refresh may be worthwhile if smooth scrolling or gaming matters more to you.
- Workload: Gaming, recording video, navigation, and multitasking can be more demanding than light browsing or video playback.
- Conditions: Temperature, network environment, battery age, and settings affect the result.
For an explanation of these factors, see Samsung Canada’s battery-life guide. Its capacity figures are manufacturer typical capacities, not measured runtime results.

How should you compare performance?
Choose performance evidence that matches what you need the phone to do. A peak benchmark may capture a brief burst, while a sustained gaming or workload test can show how performance holds during a longer session. For everyday use, responsiveness and multitasking evidence are also relevant; for demanding apps, check tests of those workloads rather than relying on a chipset label.
Samsung UK lists the S26 and S26+ with Exynos 2600 and the S26 Ultra with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy. It lists the S25 family with Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy. Samsung’s S26 launch materials say processor type may vary by market, and these manufacturer pages do not supply independent benchmark results. Treat those names as specifications, not proof that one phone is faster in every task.

How much should charging affect your choice?
Charging convenience can matter if you regularly need a quick top-up, but compare supported speeds and accessories for the exact regional model. Samsung says the S26 Ultra supports Super Fast Charging 3.0 up to 60W and reports charging to 75% in around 30 minutes in its stated test context. Samsung’s US announcement says the adapter is sold separately for the cited configuration and recommends Samsung-approved chargers and cables. Verify local accessory inclusion and compatible charging specifications before purchase.
