Wi-Fi 6E mesh can extend wireless coverage and give compatible devices access to the 6 GHz band, but it cannot guarantee faster internet or overcome the limits of your service plan, devices, or home layout. Four systems have enough sourced detail for a useful comparison: TP-Link Deco XE75, eero Pro 6E, ASUS ZenWiFi ET8, and NETGEAR Orbi RBKE963. The evidence does not support naming a fifth system as an equally evaluated pick, so this guide keeps that slot open rather than inventing a ranking.
What Wi-Fi 6E mesh can—and cannot—upgrade
Wi-Fi 6E adds access to the 6 GHz band. A mesh system distributes access points around the home, which can improve coverage compared with relying on one router in a difficult layout. Neither feature guarantees that a particular device will get faster internet: the service plan, client hardware, node placement, walls, interference, and configuration all matter.

To use 6 GHz, a household needs a Wi-Fi 6E-capable client as well as a 6E router or mesh system. NETGEAR also lists WPA3 enabled on the 6 GHz network as a prerequisite. Older devices can continue using supported older bands, but buying a 6E mesh system does not add 6 GHz capability to them. NETGEAR’s Wi-Fi 6E overview

- Unlock the Full Potential of WiFi 6 - Opening the 6 GHz band will change the game for WiFi 6. WiFi 6 brings about upgraded performance in network efficiency and capacity. Whereas the advantages of WiFi 6 are not fully realized while competing with transmissions from WiFi 5 (or other radios). The 6 GHz band is available only for WiFi 6 traffic, allowing WiFi 6 to meet its intended potential
Four source-backed Wi-Fi 6E mesh options
These candidates are not a head-to-head test ranking. Manufacturer coverage and capacity figures below are advertised limits, while independent measured results are available here only for the Deco XE75.
| System | Documented specifications | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| TP-Link Deco XE75 | Tri-band AXE5400; TP-Link advertises up to 7,200 sq. ft. for a three-unit kit, up to 200 devices, and three gigabit Ethernet ports per unit. One-, two-, and three-pack variants are listed. TP-Link product page | Coverage and device capacity are vendor claims, not guaranteed results. The cited summary does not show multi-gig ports; verify the exact hardware revision and bundle available in your region. |
| eero Pro 6E | Tri-band 2×2 radios at 2.4, 5, and 6 GHz; two Ethernet ports; up to 1 Gbps wired speed; up to 2,000 sq. ft. and 75+ devices per device, according to eero. eero product comparison | eero says actual coverage and performance vary with regulations, configuration, interference, devices, building materials, and obstructions. The published figures are not comparative test results. |
| ASUS ZenWiFi ET8 | Wi-Fi 6E support; backhaul can use 6 GHz, 5 GHz, or Ethernet, with manual backhaul selection. ASUS lists AiProtection Pro and several VPN options. ASUS ZenWiFi ET8 specifications | 6E benefits require compatible clients. Features and model availability can differ by region, so confirm the exact local SKU and current service terms. |
| NETGEAR Orbi RBKE963 | NETGEAR regional product pages identify this as a Wi-Fi 6E Orbi system. NETGEAR Orbi RBKE963 | The available source detail is insufficient here for a like-for-like comparison of pack size, ports, or current stock. Validate the exact model and regional bundle before choosing it. |
| Fifth pick | Not established by the available model-specific evidence. | Do not treat this as a tested or ranked top five. A fifth system needs comparable verification of coverage, bands, backhaul, ports, compatibility, and controls. |
What the Deco XE75 test figures mean
Tom’s Guide’s September 3, 2026 guide reports its Deco XE75 results as 1.22 Gbps at 15 feet, 299.1 Mbps at 50 feet, and 318.5 Mbps at 75 feet. Those are results from that outlet’s test process, not expected speeds for every client, internet plan, or floor plan. Tom’s Guide mesh Wi-Fi guide

The numbers are useful as one independent data point, but they do not establish that the XE75 outperforms the other systems in the table: equivalent measurements for those models are not provided here.
How to choose the right kit for your home
Check client compatibility first
List the devices that would benefit from 6 GHz, such as newer laptops or phones, and confirm they support Wi-Fi 6E. If most household devices do not, mesh coverage may still be valuable, but the 6 GHz feature alone is less likely to matter. Confirm WPA3 support and enable it on the 6 GHz network where required.

- Wi-Fi 6 Mesh Wi-Fi - Next-gen Wi-Fi 6 AX3000 whole home mesh system to eliminate weak Wi-Fi for good(2×2/HE160 2402 Mbps plus 2×2 574 Mbps)
- Whole Home WiFi Coverage - Covers up to 6500 square feet with seamless high-performance Wi-Fi 6 and eliminate dead zones and buffering. Better than traditional WiFi booster and Range Extenders
- Connect More Devices - Deco X55(3-pack) is strong enough to connect up to 150 devices with strong and reliable Wi-Fi
- Our Cybersecurity Commitment - TP-Link is a signatory of the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency’s (CISA) Secure-by-Design pledge. This device is designed, built, and maintained, with advanced security as a core requirement
- More Gigabit Ports - Each Deco X55 has 3 Gigabit Ethernet ports(6 in total for a 2-pack) and supports Wired Ethernet Backhaul for better speeds. Any of them can work as a Wi-Fi Router
Match the number of nodes to the layout
Compare the coverage claim for the specific bundle, not just the product family name. Vendor estimates such as the XE75 three-pack’s up-to-7,200-square-foot claim or eero’s up-to-2,000-square-foot-per-device figure are not interchangeable guarantees. Walls, floors, node placement, and interference affect usable coverage. Check the retailer’s kit contents and plan node placement so units can communicate reliably.
Choose backhaul based on wiring and placement
Backhaul is the connection between mesh nodes. The ET8 documents wireless 6 GHz or 5 GHz backhaul and Ethernet backhaul, with manual selection. If Ethernet runs already connect likely node locations, wired backhaul can avoid relying on a wireless link between nodes. ASUS backhaul information

Match Ethernet ports to the service plan and wired devices
Count how many wired devices need a connection and check each port’s speed. The XE75 lists three gigabit ports per unit; eero lists two Ethernet ports and up to 1 Gbps wired speed. A gigabit port or wired-speed limit can constrain a faster internet plan or wired client, regardless of the aggregate wireless rating.
