The reliable way to compare Moroccan colocation providers is to issue one identical, written requirements document to every candidate and score the replies against the same evidence. Specify the exact facility, usable rack or cage footprint, committed IT power, redundancy, cooling density, carrier and route diversity, security controls, certifications, remote-hands service, service-level remedies, data-location terms and every recurring and one-time charge. A provider’s marketing label—“rack,” “colocation,” “carrier neutral” or “Tier III”—does not by itself describe what your contract includes.
Public Moroccan provider pages reviewed for this guide do not publish comparable rack rates. Treat pricing as quote-only and require like-for-like proposals before selecting a site.
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
Start with a like-for-like comparison
Write the workload requirements before speaking with sales teams. Otherwise, each provider can quote a different footprint, power assumption or support package and appear cheaper or more resilient than it really is.
Define the physical footprint
- Number of rack units, full racks, cages or a private room required now and over the contract term.
- Equipment dimensions, weight, cable-entry needs and any requirement for roof, floor or ceiling clearances.
- Expected IT load in kilowatts per rack, peak draw, growth allowance and whether servers use single or dual power supplies.
- Whether you need installation, rack removal, storage, staging space, visitor access or scheduled maintenance windows.
Footprint names are not standardized. One Moroccan operator lists shared racks, racks, private cages and colocation; its ETIX facility also describes a dedicated IT-room option. Ask for a drawing and an itemized list of what is included in the quoted footprint rather than comparing the labels.

Define service and recovery outcomes
Record required availability, recovery-time objective (RTO), recovery-point objective (RPO), maintenance tolerance, support hours and escalation contacts. Decide whether a single site is acceptable or whether production and recovery must be in separate facilities. A second room in the same building may not provide the geographic or utility independence your continuity plan needs.
Compare Moroccan locations and continuity options
Geography affects latency, physical access, utility exposure, recovery logistics and the cost of operating a second site. Confirm the exact building named in the proposal, not merely the city or corporate address.
| Provider or facility information | Published location detail | What to verify in the proposal |
|---|---|---|
| Orange Maroc hosting | Four data centers described across Casablanca (DC1 and DC2/ETIX), Rabat (DC3) and Tangier (DC4). | Which building will host your equipment, available capacity, access rules, latency to users and whether a second site is operationally independent. |
| ETIX facility | Carrier-neutral facility in Nouaceur, in the Casablanca area. | Exact address, flood and seismic considerations, transport time, dual-site options and the physical separation of production and recovery. |
| Maroc Datacenter | Medasys identifies the facility in Temara. A Ministry of Industry and Trade report says it opened there on 19 September 2017. | Current operating status, ownership or operating entity, available footprint, current certificates and practical access arrangements. |
| N+ONE Africa | Company material describes Casablanca and a Settat data center. | Current facility list, which site is available for raw colocation, inter-site latency and whether each quoted service is delivered from the named building. |
Measure latency and packet loss from the actual user, branch and cloud locations that matter to your application. Ask each provider for a site diagram, visitor procedure, loading-bay process, recovery-site description and any available distance or latency measurements. Do not infer disaster-recovery independence from two facility names without checking utility feeds, network paths, staffing and ownership.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minutePower: turn “redundant” into contractual facts
Redundancy claims are meaningful only when you understand the complete electrical path and the remedy if service fails. Request the single-line diagram under confidentiality if necessary.
Questions for every quote
- What IT load in kW is committed per rack, cage or room, and how is it metered?
- Are A and B feeds available to every cabinet, and are they fed by genuinely independent UPS and distribution paths?
- How are utility failures handled? Ask about generator capacity, fuel autonomy at the quoted load, refuelling arrangements and generator-maintenance procedures.
- What happens during UPS, switchgear or generator maintenance? Is there a planned transfer, and what notice is provided?
- Is power billed by reserved capacity, measured consumption, peak demand or a combination? What are overage rates and minimum commitments?
- Does the SLA cover the power path, the cabinet receptacle, the whole facility or only a service-level aggregate?
“Redundant electrical supply” on a provider page is a design description, not a promise that your rack has two independent feeds or that an outage earns a credit. Have the contract identify the measurement point, exclusions, maintenance notice, availability calculation and remedy.
Density and growth
High-density equipment can be constrained by both electrical capacity and cooling. State your expected kW per rack, initial load, maximum load and growth date. A provider may have spare floor area but no capacity at the density you need. Require written confirmation of supported density at your exact footprint and the price and lead time for an increase.

Cooling and environmental controls
Ask how the quoted load is cooled during normal operation, equipment failure and planned maintenance. Request operating temperature and humidity ranges, alarm thresholds, monitoring responsibilities and the incident process.

- Confirm the maximum supported kW per rack and whether containment, blanking panels or special cabinet designs are required.
- Ask how a failed cooling unit is isolated and how quickly capacity is restored.
- Clarify who receives environmental alarms, how incidents are escalated and whether you receive monitoring records.
- Check whether installation work, hot-aisle or cold-aisle requirements and after-hours changes carry separate charges.
Do not accept a facility-wide redundancy statement as proof that your cabinet is protected. The proposal should identify the equipment and capacity assigned to your area.
Connectivity: neutrality, carriers and route diversity
Connectivity can be the largest difference between apparently similar facilities. Ask for the carrier list at the exact building, not a list for the provider’s entire network.
Carrier and path questions
- Which telecom carriers have live presence in the building today?
- Can two circuits enter through physically separate ducts, meet separate provider rooms and follow different outside routes?
- What cross-connect types are available, what is the installation lead time and what are recurring and one-time charges?
- Which bandwidth products are available, with what committed rate, burst policy, usage billing, term and overage price?
- Is remote peering available, and who operates and supports the handoff?
- What maintenance windows and notification periods apply to circuits, cross-connects and provider equipment?
Orange describes telecom-provider presence and redundant telecom adduction in its hosting material. ETIX describes dual connections from three telecom providers and a carrier-neutral model. N+ONE describes neutral fiber connectivity. These are useful leads, but have each provider confirm the carriers, ports and physical routes available for the facility in your quote.
Evaluate network failure scenarios
Request a path diagram showing the demarcation point, meet-me room, cross-connect and external route. Test whether an outage of one carrier, duct, building entrance or meet-me-room component leaves the second path usable. A contract should state who restores a failed cross-connect, the target response time and whether credits apply to connectivity or only to facility availability.
Security, certifications and evidence
Compare controls that apply to your specific site and service. Ask for current certificates, their scope, audit date and expiry date; a certificate for a different building or managed-cloud service may not cover your colocation cabinet.

Physical security checklist
- Badge or biometric access, authorization workflow and immediate revocation when staff leave.
- Visitor pre-registration, identification, escort rules, camera coverage and video-retention period.
- Loading-bay controls, equipment receiving, chain of custody and secure disposal.
- Access logs available to the customer, incident-notification timing and evidence-preservation process.
- Separation between your cage, shared racks and other tenants.
Orange lists badge access control, video surveillance and 24/7 monitoring and support. ETIX lists 24/7 site security and describes Tier III Design and Facilities requirements. Confirm the current independent certificate, its scope and validity before treating that description as a current certification claim. For every provider, obtain the actual document and map its controls to your security requirements.
Assurance beyond a certificate
Request the latest audit statement, exceptions or corrective-action summary that can be shared, penetration-test or vulnerability-management information relevant to the service, business-continuity test results and subcontractor responsibilities. Make sure the contract states how quickly a physical or cyber incident is reported and who may access logs.
Operations and remote hands
Remote hands can determine whether a distant facility is practical. “24/7 support” may mean a staffed phone line, not a technician authorized to work on your equipment.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Specify the service
- Hours covered for remote-hands requests and the distinction between monitoring, escorting, cabling, rebooting and hardware replacement.
- Response and completion targets for critical, urgent and routine tickets.
- Whether staff may install rails, replace drives, connect power, label cables, photograph equipment or collect serial numbers.
- Parts handling: customer-supplied spares, provider-held inventory, shipping address, storage fees and chain of custody.
- Change-control requirements, maintenance windows, approvals and escalation contacts.
- Hourly rates, minimum billing increments, after-hours surcharges and travel or escort fees.
Require a service catalog and rate card. Include a short, realistic task list in the request for proposal so every provider prices the same work.
Contract terms and SLA remedies
A facility design can be excellent while the commercial remedy is weak. Read the service-level schedule with the main agreement and exclusions together.
Availability calculation
Check the measurement interval, start and end points, planned-maintenance treatment, force-majeure language, customer-caused exclusions and the process for disputing an incident. Ask whether power, cooling, physical access, cross-connects and remote hands have separate targets. A single facility-availability percentage may not protect the components your application depends on.

Commercial protections
- Service credits: amount, cap, whether credits are automatic and whether they are your sole remedy.
- Notice for price changes, annual indexation, renewal and minimum term.
- Liability cap, exclusions for data loss, insurance requirements and responsibility for customer equipment.
- Termination rights for repeated SLA failure, insolvency, regulatory change or security incident.
- Exit assistance, equipment removal rules, data erasure evidence, migration support and charges at contract end.
Have legal and compliance teams review data-location commitments, subprocessors, transfer mechanisms and sector-specific obligations. The Morocco Competition Council’s 2023 monograph discusses sovereignty concerns, but it is not a complete statement of current law for your organization or data category.

Use market data carefully
The Competition Council’s September 2023 sector monograph identifies N+ONE, Inwi, Maroc Telecom and Medasys as leading participants based on 2021 estimates. It reports N+ONE revenue of MAD 93.2 million for fiscal 2021. Both the operator list and revenue figure are historical context, not a current market-share table, capacity measure or quality ranking.
The Council’s executive summary reproduces a forecast of 6.33% investment growth between 2021 and 2026, reaching USD 328 million by 2026. It also reproduces estimated data-center market revenue of USD 559.80 million in 2023 and USD 668.70 million in 2027, with a projected 4.54% CAGR for 2023–2027. These were forecasts recorded in 2023, not observed 2026 results, and they cannot rank individual facilities.
Best Value
Run a disciplined request-for-proposal process
- Write the baseline. State site preference, required footprint, kW per rack, A/B power, cooling density, carrier needs, RTO/RPO, security controls, support hours, contract term and expansion plan.
- Send identical questions. Give each provider the same rack layout, power assumptions, connectivity diagram, remote-hands task list and SLA requirements.
- Demand evidence. Request facility address, floor and electrical diagrams, carrier and route information, current certificates, service catalog, incident process and contract schedules.
- Normalize the quotes. Put space, power, connectivity, support, setup, taxes, indexation and exit costs into one cost model. Mark every assumption.
- Score technical risk before price. Reject proposals that cannot document the required power path, cooling density, route diversity, security scope or data-location terms.
- Inspect and test. Conduct a site visit, review access and receiving procedures, validate network handoffs and perform an installation or remote-hands trial before signing.
- Negotiate measurable remedies. Attach the final facility, equipment, power, carrier, response-time and SLA definitions to the contract, including change and exit procedures.
A practical scoring model
Use weighted scores that reflect business impact rather than giving every category equal importance. A regulated, latency-sensitive workload may weight data governance and network paths more heavily than a low-risk backup archive.
| Category | Suggested evidence-based score |
|---|---|
| Geography and disaster-recovery independence | Exact facility, access, latency and second-site evidence. |
| Power and cooling | Committed kW, A/B path, generator and UPS design, density and maintenance plan. |
| Connectivity | Carrier presence, physical route diversity, cross-connect terms and escalation. |
| Security and assurance | Site controls, current certificates, audit scope, visitor process and incident terms. |
| Operations | Remote-hands capability, response times, staffing and change procedures. |
| Contract and cost | Normalized total cost, SLA remedies, liability, renewal and exit assistance. |
Score only documented capabilities. Treat an unverified claim as “not established,” not as a partial pass. Keep a separate list of open questions and make closure a condition of award.
Common comparison mistakes
Comparing city names instead of buildings
Casablanca, Rabat, Tangier, Nouaceur, Settat and Temara can imply very different latency, access and recovery profiles. Use the exact facility address and measured paths.
Recommended Free Tools
Treating a design tier as an SLA
A Tier III design description does not specify your cabinet’s feeds, maintenance practice or financial remedy. Obtain current certification and contractual definitions.
Counting carriers without checking routes
Two carriers may share a duct, entrance or meet-me room. Require physical-diversity evidence and test a single-path failure scenario.
Ignoring density and metering
Floor space without available kW or cooling is not usable capacity. Put committed power, measurement method and overage pricing in the quote.
Accepting “24/7 support” without a task definition
Specify who can enter, what work they can perform, response targets, approvals and rates. Run a trial ticket before relying on the service.
Using old market figures as current rankings
The Council’s 2021 estimates, published in 2023, provide historical context only. Current capacity, pricing, certification and service quality must come from the provider and your own diligence.
Decision checklist before signing
- Exact facility, cabinet or cage drawing attached to the proposal.
- Committed kW, A/B feeds, metering, UPS, generator, fuel autonomy and maintenance terms documented.
- Cooling density, environmental range, alarms and failure response documented.
- Carrier list, cross-connect prices and physically diverse routes confirmed for that building.
- Security procedures, current certificates and scope dates reviewed.
- Remote-hands catalog, response times, rates and escalation contacts tested.
- Recurring, one-time, usage, tax, indexation and exit charges normalized.
- SLA measurement points, exclusions, credits and termination rights accepted by legal and technical owners.
- Data location, backups, subprocessors and transfer terms approved for the workload.
- Recovery site, access plan, migration runbook and acceptance test scheduled.
Bottom line
Choose the Moroccan provider that can document the exact facility and contract you need—not the one with the broadest marketing claim or the lowest unnormalized monthly number. A defensible decision combines a like-for-like quote, facility evidence, tested network and operations procedures, current assurance documents and clear SLA and exit remedies.
