You can close a Venmo business profile and keep your personal Venmo profile. In the Venmo app, go to Me > Settings > Get Help > Chat With Us and ask Support to close only the business profile. Venmo calls this action closing a business profile rather than deleting a separate account, because the business profile is linked to your personal account and uses the same login.
Before you ask Venmo to close the profile
Prepare the business profile so no money or transactions are left unresolved:

- Complete any pending transactions.
- Move the remaining balance. Venmo lists transferring it to a bank account or debit card, sending it to another Venmo user, or returning a payment to its sender as options. See Venmo’s account-closure instructions.
- Resolve any outstanding customer matters connected to the profile.
Identity-verified users may also be able to transfer a balance between their business and personal profiles in the app. Venmo says these transfers are reviewed and may be delayed, or funds may be frozen or removed. Check Venmo’s business-profile functions for details.

How to request business-profile-only closure
- Open the Venmo app and tap Me.
- Tap Settings, then Get Help.
- Tap Chat With Us and ask an agent to close your business profile.
- State clearly that you want to close the business profile only and keep your personal profile active.
Venmo directs users to Support for business-profile-only closure. If you need another contact method, use Venmo’s Contact Us options. Venmo does not state a processing time for this request.

Do not close your personal profile by mistake
Your business profile is connected to your personal Venmo account; it does not have a separate login. Closing the personal profile also closes the business profile. If you want to keep using Venmo personally, ask Support specifically for business-profile-only closure. Venmo explains the connection in its Business Profiles FAQ and business-profile setup information.
What happens after closure
Venmo says a closed business profile is permanently deleted and cannot be reactivated. Its closure guidance also says you cannot create a second business profile tied to the same personal account or create a new business profile representing the same business entity. Make sure you are ready to lose access to the profile before you submit the request.
