For a one-off copy, use your browser’s print dialog to save the article as a PDF. For a cleaner, searchable article note, use a clipper such as Evernote Web Clipper and try its Article or Simplified Article mode. Check the saved copy against the live page, and keep the original URL: regional-language pages can include dynamic content, while translation and clipping may omit context.

For a single article, start with the browser’s print-to-PDF option or page-saving feature if your browser offers it. The exact controls differ across browsers and devices, so use the print or share controls available in yours rather than relying on one universal menu path.

Clip the article with Evernote Web Clipper
Evernote Web Clipper offers several capture modes. Its documentation describes Article mode for detecting the main article section, Simplified Article for stripping away layout and formatting, Full page for a broader page capture, Screenshot for a static visual capture, and Selection and Bookmark options. PDF-related options are also documented, though Evernote says its PDF page option is unavailable in Firefox.

- Open the original article and save its URL. Keep the publisher’s page address with your clip so you can revisit the original context or later updates.
- Open Web Clipper and choose a mode. Start with Article for the main story, or Simplified Article if navigation and page furniture make the text difficult to read. Use Full page or Screenshot if visual context matters.
- Inspect the result. Confirm that the headline, article body, publication date, and attribution are present. If the capture is incomplete, select the relevant text manually or switch to another mode.
- Save the clip with the source URL. Keep the URL in the note or clip metadata, not only in a separate browser tab.

Translate first only when it helps
If you need a translated view before clipping, Google Translate’s desktop website workflow lets you choose Websites, set the source to “Detect language,” enter a URL, and switch between translated and original views. Google notes that the feature is not available in all regions. Follow Google Translate’s website-translation instructions and preserve the publisher’s original URL.
Firefox Translations uses language models downloaded to the browser and translates locally, according to Mozilla’s documentation. Its stated supported-language list includes Bangla, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Tamil, and Telugu, among others. That list does not establish translation quality or guarantee that every page or regional language will be supported.
Google Search also documents translated results on mobile for Indonesian, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Tamil, and Telugu on browsers that support Google Search. Tapping a translated title opens a live translation, and the original result remains selectable. News pages may load ads, video, interactive modules, or other content after the initial page appears. A saved clip may therefore differ from the live article. If a clip is missing text or looks garbled, Evernote recommends trying another clip type, manually selecting the relevant content, or taking a screenshot.
- Headline or body missing: Try Article or Simplified Article, then select the article text manually if detection still fails.
- Layout or media does not appear correctly: Use Full page or Screenshot to retain more of the page’s visual appearance.
- Mobile formatting differs: Check the imported page in Evernote; its mobile guidance warns that saved formatting may not match the browser view.
- Translation is unavailable: Try a different supported workflow or read the original. Support depends on the product, language, device, and region.
Compare the copy with the publisher’s live page before relying on it. A clip or translation can omit images, context, corrections, or material added later. Saving a page does not bypass a subscription or paywall, and copying access-controlled material may be restricted by the publisher’s terms or applicable law.
