Clean the Nord Buds 3r with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth; use a small brush or cotton swab only for visible debris around a nozzle, and keep the earbuds’ and case’s charging contacts clean and dry. Avoid treating the charging case as water-resistant: OnePlus’s IP55 rating applies to the earbuds, not the case.
What you need
- A soft, dry, lint-free cloth for the outside of the earbuds and case. A clean microfiber cloth is one suitable option; no brand is required.
- A small brush or cotton swab for visible wax or debris at an earbud nozzle, used gently.
A third-party Nord Buds 3r care page recommends these tools and keeping the charging contacts clean and dry; it is not official OnePlus cleaning guidance: model-specific care instructions.

How to clean the earbuds and case
-
Wipe the exterior surfaces
Use the soft, dry, lint-free cloth to wipe the earbuds and charging case. Keep the cloth dry; the available model-specific instructions recommend a dry wipe rather than a wet cleaning method.

Clear visible debris at a nozzle
If you see wax or debris at an earbud nozzle, remove its eartip and gently use a small brush or cotton swab around the affected area. Do not push debris into the opening. The care instructions do not specify a particular brush or detailed technique, so avoid force.

Keep charging contacts clean and dry
Check the metal contacts on both earbuds and inside the case. Keep them clean and dry; do not apply liquid or scrape them with a hard object.
Water resistance: earbuds and case are different
OnePlus lists the Nord Buds 3r earbuds as IP55 water- and dust-resistant, but explicitly excludes the charging case. That rating is not permission to rinse, soak, or submerge the earbuds, and it says nothing about protecting the case. OnePlus also cautions that “Water and dust resistance may diminish with device aging. Liquid and dust damage are not covered under the warranty.” See the OnePlus Nord Buds 3r product page.

What to avoid
- Do not rinse or submerge either the earbuds or case.
- Do not assume alcohol, solvents, detergents, sprays, compressed air, or other liquids are approved for cleaning this model. OnePlus’s available product information does not approve these methods.
- Do not force a tool into the nozzle or scrape the charging contacts.
If the earbuds or case are wet, do not charge them while moisture is present. The available model-specific guidance does not establish a drying time or a heat-based drying procedure, so do not use guessed timing or heat as a substitute for product-specific instructions.
