To claim a Mystery Gift in Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet, reach the first Pokémon Center in Los Platos, then open X > Poké Portal > Mystery Gift. Choose Internet to search for gifts currently available online, or Code/Password to redeem a code you have.
When Mystery Gift unlocks
Mystery Gift becomes available after you reach the first Pokémon Center in Los Platos. That progress marker—not a set amount of play time—is what to look for. Nintendo Support confirms that reaching this Pokémon Center unlocks both Poké Portal and Mystery Gift: Nintendo Support.

How to claim a gift
- Play until you reach the first Pokémon Center in Los Platos.
- During gameplay, press X to open the in-game menu.
- Select Poké Portal, then Mystery Gift.
- Choose the method that matches your gift: Internet or Code/Password.
Claim an internet gift
Select Internet. The game connects and searches for gifts currently available to it. Select the gift displayed and confirm to receive it. This option is for online distributions; it does not redeem a code.

Select Code/Password, enter the code you were given, and confirm. Use this option when you have a specific redemption code rather than relying on the game’s search for currently available online gifts.

Where received gifts go
- Pokémon: Your party or Pokémon Boxes.
- Non-fashion items: Your Bag.
- Fashion items: The Outfit menu.
After receiving a gift, save your game. To review gifts you have already received, open Mystery Gift and select Check Mystery Gifts. Nintendo lists these menu paths and reward destinations in its Scarlet and Violet Mystery Gift instructions.

Internet distributions and redemption deadlines can change. Check Pokémon’s official announcements for current or upcoming distributions before trying a time-limited gift; Pokémon Support directs players to Pokémon.com for that information. The Internet option searches for gifts currently available in the game, while a code must be entered through Code/Password.
