How you claim a PlayStation Store game depends on how you got it: redeem a voucher code, add a PlayStation Plus Monthly Game, or download a game you already own. Each route uses a different Store or library menu. Redeem or claim content on the account that should receive it; Sony says voucher content and wallet funds cannot be transferred between accounts. These instructions reflect PlayStation’s US support guidance checked October 4, 2026; labels and availability may vary by country, system software, and account settings.
Choose the right way to claim the game

These routes are not interchangeable. A game in the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog or Classics Catalog is available through the applicable subscription tier, and catalog titles can leave the service. Redeem a PlayStation Store voucher code
A voucher code for a game or other Store content is 12 digits. It is single-use and must match the country or region of your PlayStation account. The content or wallet funds are applied to the account that redeems it, so check that you are signed into the intended account first. Sony also lists vouchers for add-ons, in-game items, season passes, subscriptions, and wallet balance. Sony’s voucher instructions.
- On the web: Open PlayStation Store, select your profile/avatar, choose Redeem Code, enter the 12-digit code, and continue.
- On PS5: Open PlayStation Store, press Triangle to open the menu, choose … (More) > Redeem Code, enter the code, and select Redeem. Choose Download if offered, or download it later from your library.
- On PS4: Open PlayStation Store, scroll to the bottom of the sidebar, choose Redeem Codes, enter the code, and confirm. Continue to download if prompted.
- In the PlayStation App: Select the PS Store icon, open the menu, choose Redeem Code, enter the code, and continue.
A 10-digit discount code is different: apply it during checkout rather than entering it as a voucher. Some subscription vouchers may require a valid payment method. If you are redeeming a wallet top-up voucher for a child account, Sony says it must be redeemed on the family manager account, which can set a child spending limit.

Claim a PlayStation Plus Monthly Game
PlayStation Plus adds new Monthly Games each calendar month. Members can claim the offered games and play them while their membership is active; the games are not the same as titles available through the Game Catalog or Classics Catalog. Sony’s Monthly Games instructions.
On PS5
- From Games home, open PlayStation Plus.
- Go to Benefits > Monthly Games and choose the game.
- Select Download.
On PS4
- Open PlayStation Plus > Monthly Games.
- Highlight the game and select Add to Library > Download.
Sony also allows selecting Monthly Games for remote download through a web browser or the PlayStation App. Availability and menu labels can vary by region and platform software.

Download a game you already own
Sign in to the account that purchased or claimed the game, then find it in that account’s library. The exact menu depends on where you are accessing PlayStation Store. Sony’s download instructions.
- Web: Select your avatar/profile, open Game Library > Purchased, select the game, then choose Download.
- PS5: Go to Games home > Game Library > Your Collection, select the game, and choose Download.
- PS4: Open Library > Purchased, select the game, and choose Download.
- PlayStation App: Open the Game Library icon, choose Purchased, select the game, and choose Download to Console.
Remote downloads require a linked, eligible console and the appropriate setup. For web downloads, Sony specifies a PS5 logged in with the account or a PS4 activated as that account’s primary PS4. A local download from the console library does not require starting the download remotely.

If a code fails or a game is missing
- Check the code type: Voucher redemption uses a 12-digit code. A 10-digit discount code is applied at checkout, not redeemed as a voucher.
- Check region and validity: The voucher’s region must match the account, the code may have an expiry date, and it can only be used once. Physical vouchers may show a country or region flag.
- Confirm the account: Check that you are signed in to the account that redeemed or purchased the content. Sony says voucher content and wallet funds cannot be transferred between accounts.
- Check purchase records: Review transaction history and look in Purchased or Your Collection. This can help establish whether the item was acquired on the account you are using.
- Refresh the console: If redeemed content is not visible, restart the console, sign out and back in to the account used for redemption, then check the transaction details.
- Check child-account limits: Plus benefits can be limited by age ratings and parental controls. Wallet top-up vouchers must be redeemed by the family manager, who can set the child’s spending limit.
