To claim a PlayStation Plus monthly game, open the Monthly Games section on your console and select the game. On PS5, choose Download; on PS4, choose Add to Library, then Download. You can also start a remote download from a web browser or the PlayStation App.
Claim a monthly game on PS5
- From the Games home screen, scroll right and select PlayStation Plus.
- Open Benefits, then select Monthly Games.
- Highlight the game you want and select Download.
These are the steps in PlayStation Support’s instructions. The game will download to your console.

Claim a monthly game on PS4
- From the function screen, scroll right and select PlayStation Plus.
- Scroll down and select Monthly Games.
- Highlight the game, select Add to Library, then select Download.
The PS4 flow includes an explicit Add to Library step before downloading.
Start a download remotely
PlayStation also supports setting a selected monthly game to download remotely to a PS5 or PS4 through a web browser or the PlayStation App. The exact remote-download instructions are separate from the console steps; see PlayStation Support’s monthly games guide for its linked browser and app guides.

What claiming a game does—and does not—mean
PlayStation Support describes monthly games as titles available to download and play at no extra cost during a PlayStation Plus membership, with new games added each calendar month. Adding a game to your library does not make it permanently playable without a membership: PlayStation says claimed monthly games can be downloaded and played while your account has an active plan.
Monthly Games are different from the Game Catalog and Classics Catalog. Catalog access depends on plan tier, and some catalog titles have removal dates and leave the service. A game claimed through Monthly Games should not be confused with a catalog title that is available only while it remains in that catalog.

Plan and territory notes
On PlayStation’s US membership page, Monthly Games are included with Essential and also with Extra and Premium. That page also says that from January 2026, PS4 games will be added only intermittently. These are US-specific statements; availability and plan details may differ in other territories. Check the membership information for your region for current terms.
