First identify what the quest reward is
In the lobby, open Quests and find the relevant experience’s quests. Quests can differ by experience, and Epic Games Player Support says, “Each quest has a reward, usually XP, level-ups, or cosmetic items.” That distinction matters: only a cosmetic should appear as an item in the Locker.

Read the quest’s reward description rather than assuming every completed objective grants an outfit, emote, or other cosmetic. If the listed reward is XP or a level-up, look for its effect on your progression instead of searching the Locker. A level-up may help you reach a level requirement for a Pass reward, but it is not itself a cosmetic entry.
If the quest lists a cosmetic, note which item you expect and continue through the checks below. This is useful because the next steps depend on whether the reward is directly associated with the quest or is a Pass reward that becomes available after progressing. The two can feel connected when quest progress helps you level up, but an earned level and a claimed Pass item are not necessarily the same thing.

Check whether the reward is a quest reward or a Pass reward
Players can mistake a reward earned through quest progress for an item that is immediately claimable in the Locker. Pass rewards may depend on reaching a specified level, claiming prerequisite rewards, or both. Some bonus rewards require more than one level-up. Open the relevant Pass page and check whether the reward is available or whether the page shows a level or prerequisite that is not yet satisfied.
Use the Pass page associated with the reward you earned, and inspect the reward itself rather than relying on memory of a prior season’s layout. Pass names, menus, and available options can change. The important checks are whether you have reached the displayed level, whether the item has prerequisite rewards, and whether an available reward is still awaiting a claim.
Claim an available reward on its Pass page
- Open the relevant Pass page in Fortnite.
- Find the reward you expect and check its displayed level requirement and any prerequisite rewards.
- If it is available, claim it. If the game offers an auto-claim option and you want to use it, enable that option.
- Return to the lobby and restart Fortnite before checking the Locker again.
Do not assume that earning enough XP automatically means every Pass item has been claimed. You may have reached the necessary level while a reward remains unclaimed, or you may still need to claim prerequisite rewards before the item becomes available. Likewise, earning a quest reward does not by itself prove that a separate Pass reward has been unlocked or claimed.

Make sure you are signed into the account that earned it
Fortnite rewards are associated with the account that earned them. If you use multiple Epic accounts, sign out and confirm that you are using the Epic account where you completed the quest or earned the Pass reward. A cosmetic can appear to be missing simply because you are looking in a different account’s Locker.

This check is especially important before spending time changing filters or retrying a claim. The account currently signed in may be different from the one you used when completing the quest. Confirm the account first, then repeat the Pass and Locker checks while signed into the account that earned the reward.
If you are unsure which account earned it, compare the account you are signed into with the one you used for the quest or Pass progress. Epic’s public help pages cannot verify an individual player’s reward history, so they cannot establish from a general instruction page whether a specific account completed a quest or received an entitlement.
If the issue needs support, be ready to identify the account you believe earned the reward and the quest or Pass involved. An account-specific review is needed to determine whether a particular entitlement was granted. A general troubleshooting page can explain what to check, but it cannot confirm the contents of your individual reward history.
Retry if the claim failed or the reward is still processing
A claim error or delay does not by itself establish that the reward was lost. Epic notes that reward processing can sometimes be delayed but does not give a universal processing time. There is no fixed wait time to promise for every quest, account, or service condition. Try the following sequence before escalating:
- Sign out and back in. Reauthenticate to the account that earned the reward, rather than continuing in a session that may be tied to another account.
- Restart Fortnite. After signing back in, restart the game and check the relevant Pass page or Locker category again.
- Wait briefly, then retry. If the reward is still available to claim, wait a few minutes and try again. A short delay can be worth checking before concluding that an entitlement is missing.
- Check service status. Visit the Epic Games Status page for a service issue that could affect claims or account features. If a relevant issue is reported, wait for service recovery and retry afterward.
- Try another device if possible. Sign into the same account on another device and see whether the reward appears there. This can help distinguish a device-specific display or session issue from a problem that follows the account.
If another device shows the item but your usual device does not, that points toward a device-specific display or session problem rather than a missing entitlement. If the claim continues to fail across devices, or a service issue is reported, wait for the service to recover and retry rather than repeatedly submitting the same claim.

These are retry steps, not a guarantee that a delayed claim will resolve itself. If you have confirmed the account and the reward remains absent after a reasonable retry, consult Epic’s official reward-processing support instructions. If the issue persists, support may need to examine your account rather than relying on a general status page.

Once you have confirmed that the reward is a cosmetic and that you are signed into the account that earned it, open the category where the expected item belongs. Remove all selected sorting and filter options. A sort or filter can narrow the displayed items enough to make an owned cosmetic hard to find, so do not rely only on the current first screen or the current ordering.
After clearing the selections, search the expected category again. This check is about visibility: a filter can keep an owned item out of the displayed results without meaning the account failed to receive it. Confirm you are looking in the appropriate cosmetic category before concluding that the item is missing.
Check Archived items
Archived cosmetics are hidden from the regular Locker display and the Emote Wheel, but they remain on the account and can be unarchived. Epic Games Player Support states that “Archived items remain on your account and can be unarchived at any time.” Check the Locker’s Archived items for the cosmetic. If it is there, unarchive it; then return to the regular category to use it.
Finding an item in Archive means it was hidden, not that it failed to be granted. If it is not there, clear the remaining filters and confirm that you are checking the correct cosmetic category before moving to support. Remember that Archive is a visibility check, not a place where a reward must be claimed: an archived cosmetic remains on your account.

What happens to unclaimed Pass rewards at season end?
Epic says that unclaimed rewards from Passes are automatically received the next time you log in after a season ends, provided you earned enough levels for those rewards. This can resolve the concern that an eligible Pass reward was left unclaimed when a season ended.
The rule is specifically about eligible unclaimed Pass rewards. It does not say that every quest reward will be granted at season end, nor does it resolve an account-specific claim error. If a cosmetic is still missing after logging in following a season end, check that you are on the account that earned it and search the Locker, including filters and Archive. Contact support if those checks do not explain the issue.

Contact Epic Support if you have confirmed the reward is a cosmetic, checked the account that earned it, met any Pass requirements, claimed any available prerequisite rewards, removed Locker filters, and checked Archive, but the item is still missing. For a claim error that persists after the retry steps, consult Epic’s reward-processing support guidance and submit a support request.
Describe the issue in terms that let support investigate the right entitlement: the Epic account involved, the quest or Pass reward you expected, and what you have already checked. If the game shows an error, include its wording. These details help distinguish an XP or level-up question, a Pass eligibility issue, a failed claim, and a cosmetic that is simply hidden in the Locker.

Do not treat a general support page or status page as confirmation that a specific reward is on your account. Public guidance cannot verify whether an individual player completed a particular quest or received a particular item. Only an account-specific investigation can address that. There is no need to buy a product or pay a third party to claim an in-game reward; the supported route is to troubleshoot the account and contact Epic when those checks do not resolve it.

- The reward is XP or a level-up: it is not a Locker cosmetic; check progression instead.
- The cosmetic is a Pass reward and not yet claimable: meet the displayed level and prerequisite requirements, then claim it on the Pass page.
