It is listed for PC on Steam and GOG; Nightdive also named Epic Games and Humble Bundle in a June 2025 patch announcement. If you want to install without GOG Galaxy, GOG says you can use its offline installer. Owning the original game alone does not establish that you’re entitled to the remaster.
How do I claim the remaster?
First, identify the account or storefront where you bought the game or made the purchase that may qualify for a historical offer. Sign in to that account and check its library, order history, or the remaster’s store page for an existing entitlement. If you do not already have access, check the storefront for current availability and purchase options. Store interfaces and availability can change, so follow the labels shown in your account rather than relying on a fixed click-by-click path.

The remaster’s Steam listing gives its release date as June 26, 2025. GOG announced its release on the same date, and Nightdive’s June 27, 2025 patch announcement named Steam, GOG, Epic Games, and Humble Bundle. Those dated announcements establish PC storefront routes at the time; check the store directly for current regional availability and price. Steam’s product listing, GOG’s product page, and Nightdive’s patch announcement provide the relevant product and platform information.
Does owning the original System Shock 2 give me the remaster?
Not automatically, based on the available offer terms. GOG’s June 26, 2025 launch announcement said owners of the classic System Shock 2 could get a 50% discount on GOG until June 29, 2025 at 1 PM UTC. That promotion has expired; it was a discount, not a stated free-copy entitlement. GOG’s announcement does not establish a current discount or another current promotion. What if I pre-ordered System Shock: Enhanced Edition?
The same GOG announcement said that customers who pre-ordered System Shock: Enhanced Edition when it was released would receive the remaster free. This is a specific launch-period eligibility statement, not a guarantee that every past purchase qualifies. Check the GOG account and order record used for that pre-order. If the entitlement is not visible, use GOG’s account or support options to confirm whether that transaction qualifies.
How do I install it on PC?
Once the remaster appears in your account as owned, use the storefront’s download or install option and follow its prompts. There is no single verified sequence of current interface labels that applies across Steam, GOG, Epic Games, and Humble Bundle, so the exact steps depend on your store and its current client.

Install with GOG Galaxy or use GOG’s offline installer
GOG says buyers can download a fully offline installer and install the game without GOG Galaxy. If you prefer that route, sign in to the GOG account that owns the game, check its available downloads, and select the offline installer. The product page and account-specific download options are the best place to verify what is currently available for your purchase.
What PC requirements should I check?
Steam lists these requirements for the remaster. They are the game’s stated requirements; Steam also notes a separate operating-system requirement for its client.
